Hi Guys, I thought I'd share this thread on a project I've had planned for a long time, I'll be keeping it updated elsewhere but I'll copy it over to here as it may be of interest to you guys too It's for a Toyota Celica GT4 ST205, not a 350z, hence being in the off topic section. I'm planning on taking out the stereo, heater controls and clock and replace them with an integrated system run through a raspberry pi. I know this really isn't going to be of any interest to a lot of people as it'll end up getting quite in depth, so look away now if it isn't your kind of thing. It's going to take a long time to do as I can't give all my time to it's development, but I'll get there in the end There are various parts of the build I need to complete to get this all working. Functionality: The screen: The controller: Controls: Programming: Fitting to the vehicle: Clock Power Heater controls and Climate

You could give the Bose hack a go first and see if that does what you want -
Haha I remember that trip you took me on in your Zed, you were a hooligan then Sent from the golf club... I don't remember exactly how that drive went but I'm sure I behaved myself

Unfortunately the bridlepaths don't link up completely, and before the road was a tarmac road, it was part of said path. So it's a necessary evil to have to go on the road to get from A to B, not their fault the track they use isn't a dirt path any more, it's the fault of people wanting higher quality roads to drive cars down.

Importing my Zed into the US - "You I sell or should I go"
Husky replied to akewt's topic in 350Z General
I drive left hand drive cars over here every day for a living and have driven right hand drive in the US/Canada. I can tell you that you will get used to it pretty quick but it can be irritating in the long term. Tolls being one great annoyance! In the USA it isn't too bad though as the worst thing to deal with are roundabouts which they don't really have at all. The other catch is lane changing, but seeing as the in the US it's pretty much fair game to undertake anyway, it doesn't make too much difference. I have to say that I personally wouldn't bother taking her over, maybe clean her up and put her in storage, or alternatively get a family member to look after her in the mean time? Or, take the hard step and sell. I think it's fair to say that we all get attached to our cars but the hassle probably wouldn't be worth it. -
quite true! Guilty for this one myself

So, I was randomly thinking this weekend and this thread popped into my head... To the bikers, do you fully commit to a corner you haven't yet seen on a public road? Isn't this (to put it bluntly) really stupid and dangerous? If you'd seen the corner fully, you'd see the poo and react accordingly.

My mate still has his matrix style phone, he uses it whenever his Iphone breaks I'm in the same sitation of figuring out which new phone to get after 2 years of the same thing. I have no idea so I think I'm going to have to sit down for a few hours and pour over the reviews! One thing I have learned is to go for a phone that is common as muck and has been out for a little while, this way you miss all the bugs with a brand new model and there are plenty of people with it so apps are much more compatible/bug free.

Ahh interesting, Dave, I found them to be great in the wet. But then thinner tyres mean the water dispersion will be really different? No idea, every car handles differently, I imagine the MPSS would be better but these were a great deal and with 4wd I haven't slid anywhere in a very long time. Maybe I'm not the hooligan I once was

I have Dunlop SportMaxx on the Jag at the moment and they are awful.... just goes to show ya huh Sent from the golf club... Depends, there are a few types of sportmaxx. Also, If you read through the reviews, they change dependant on size, and I have tiny 215's

Weirdly this same discussion was going on in Reddit last night. Seemed a weird coincidence

I ended up getting Dunlop SportMaxx RT for the Celica. "A" wet grip, "C" fuel economy and only 67DB noise rating. Apparently they wear quite quickly, but I'm not doing many miles so I can get away with it fine They are great so far, but then I'm 4wd so it's a very different deal getting them to unstick from the road.

Cosmis Wheels official UK importer Tarmac Sportz
Husky replied to Tarmac@TarmacSportz's topic in Tarmac Sportz
the Xt206 only comes in two sizes atm 18x9.5 and 18x11 the safest sizes in that wheel would be go 9.5 all round then run a staggered tyres sizes as these wheels are marketed at stance fans so as you can see below which has the 18x11 rear you need alot of camber I had 9.5 front and 10.5 rear and it worked out fine, I would say for 11 rear roll the arches to save trashing a set of tyres I had: 295 30 r19, 10.5 wide, backs 265 30 r19, 9.5 wide, fronts I also ran 305 wide pirelli Pzeros on the back, that's what made me have to roll the arches. I was lowered on Tein springs: 17mm rear 13mm front -
You should get a warning point really, it's all your fault

I got called in for it right as I was to be on holiday, I didnt have anything booked but it was a week I couldnt move at the time, I didn't get paid squat! They went away for 2 days of discussions and before ANYTHING happened they came up and said he made a deal and pleaded guilty. We didn't even make it to the selection stage and we were sitting in the courtroom basically the whole damned time!

+1 top effort -
Absolutely do not contact them. They work on a system where they place you in a tier representing your likelihood to pay and they chase people in different ways based on the tier they are in. By contacting them you get upgraded to tier 2 Expect phone calls from that level. Quite a lot of people do pay them sadly! But worst of all are companies. I hit this problem with my work, the companies supplying cars such as hire companies simply pay them and then pass the cost onto the customer! The catch here is that it is in the hire agreement that you pay the charge that has been passed to you, a legal document that you signed and you can't get out of that. From memory, Enterprise used to be the only company that rejected these types of charges on their customers behalf. So these scam artists target hire cars, it's why I would definitely advise removing the hire car sticker when you pick up the car, they'll just put a new one on when they get it back and it saves you being targeted as an easy score while you have the car.

Skyrim? It's getting on a bit now but it is a great game to get lost in.

I'd say go up to get you unstuck then go straight back down. The reason behind using this method is keeping your big numbers in order. if you only push numbers down and left then you know that the one in the corner is going to be biggest and the outer ones from that gradually smaller. as soon as you go right then you get a small number stuck the other side of a big one and you'll lose in about 20 more swipes. The same can happen with getting a small number stuck in that bottom left space that you want your big number in. Because numbers are randomly placed when they are generated, it's a risk whenever you go up and empty that corner space that it may get filled. The only time when it is fairly safe to go up is when your entire left column is filled, as the big numbers wont move.

I take that as an admission you know it's there and should be read Spanking

I don't mean to sound like an addicted gamer but I finished 2048 in 20 mins I figured out that you just don't use one of the directions. so as an example: only use left, down and up. try and stick to left and down only while you can, only use up if you have to. NEVER go right. I give it 30 mins and you'll have beaten it NB: I may have an unfair advantage that I design games for a hobby

I have been through this a few times and even went all legal when I got one in a work car. Just do not under any circumstances reply. AND don't call it a fine!! A fine or a penalty is something given to you by the police or the council as a punishment for not being in compliance with the road traffic act. What they have given you is not a fine it is a charge, or invoice. AS a charge or invoice it not a matter for police or the council, it would end up in court and they would have to prove that 1) you parked there, 2) you were the driver, 3) they suffered a provable financial loss as a result of you staying there. 1) ok so they may have CCTV or a picture 2) ok so maybe they have a shot of your face in the car 3) ok so say that in an extremely rare case you end up in court with them. And god forbid through some utter miracle they convince the judge that the invoice is genuine. You would then be forced to pay the loss of income to them on... a free car park... These things simply don't go to court, the letters are made to scare you and the increasing nature of the invoice meant to rush you into paying before taking sound advice. These are vultures picking on the uninformed by basically scamming you into thinking you have broken the law. There was a change in law due at some point, so it might be worth having a route around some proper forums such as http://forums.pepipo...hp?showforum=60 to make sure this advice is up to date.
