  1. First thing is the spoiler i think, need to source a nice lip one.
  2. Hi guys ok car bought, black one, yaaa me lol. Now I need to source a rear spoiler and body kit, question is will just having side skirts like a nismo set look ok without a front spoiler? Also I think Id prefer just a lip as a rear spoiler like in this thread here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15807 looks more suttle, where could I source one of these from please. Would side skits look daft without a front spoiler or rear bumper spoiler thingy? Im not keen on the nismo front spoiler corner bits that stick out, is thee somethin less suttle for the front but still enhances it? Or should I get nismo skirts and rear and a different suttle front?
  3. In my 350z rear bumper I have what looks like a square panel in the middle at the bottom, about the size a matchbox, is this for a reversing camera?
  4. lol argh im lost now, sorry, im doing a hundred things today work and 350z related, so wash, then polish then wax yes? or wash, then wax, then polish? So far all I have is the 222 carnaube wax, what do i seal with? Im also trying to find blackfure polish.
  5. So do I wax the car with 222 wax then polish it with blackfire yes? Theres no blackfire polish on ebay strangely enough.
  6. Blackfire polish? That for interior or exterior? Of exterior isnt that what the carnauba wax 222 does? Whats quick detailer? I would also be worried a clay bar would scratch it.
  7. lol bloody hell, what about alloy cleaner, any recommendations? So fare I have the list below of cleaning products to get. 2 x lambswool mitts 6 x micro fiber cloths 2 x buckets 1 x carnaube 222 wax (unless there is better version?) 1 x hose for gentle rinsing no power washer. Anything else?
  8. Been recommended this? http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/r222- ... d_357.html
  9. I wouldnt do that stage tbh, thought the same as you.
  10. Seen this method. 1) Rinse car off 2) Wash using 2 bucket technique and lambswool wash mitt - using plenty of suds with warm water and cold water in your rinse bucket. 3) Rinse car 4) Clay bar your car - a kit can be picked up for about £10 from Halfords called Meguiars Quick Detailing Kit and it will remove all contaminants on your car (tar / tree sap etc etc). You can do this whilst your car is wet from rinsing as it aids the clay moving along each panel. Make sure you always move the clay in straight lines toward the front and rear of the car to avoid swirl marks. 5) Rinse car again - wash if your proper anal. 6) Use open end of the hose to sheet the water off the car and reduce the amount of drying required. 7) Dry car using a good waffle weave towel - I use a flexiblade to help remove alot of the water and use the towel to finish off. 8) Now polish using applicator pad and microfibre / terry towel to remove. Again move in straight lines, never circular. 9) If you are going to use a polymer based sealant, now is the time to apply it. Apply one or two coats according to the manufacturers instructions. 9) Then if you want a little more shine now wax using applicator pad and microfibre / terry towel to remove Any recommendations for good quality car wax to shine it.
  11. Hi all, I know there are other black car owners here, hows best to clean it to avoid swirl marks? I have been told a pressure washer will remove the protective layers etc, so thought maybe a simple hose and to hose the suds off after cleaning but how can I avoid damaging the paintwork in the first place, any tips? Thanks
  12. Cant decide arrgghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Black or grey, black or grey!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Cheers guys. Have to decide tonight, flight is at 8.30am tommorow, called insurance, thats sorted, called bank thats sorted, called seller, he is free tommorow, could be there and back by 4pm, decisions, decisions. Partly cos its a lot of money, I can afford it but ive never spent 16k on a car before ever.
  14. Anymore advice on the security issue? There is a secure yard next to me that I can rent a spot, its an office with secure gated parking and 10 feet fence all way round.
  15. My last concern is targetted thieves as it would be parked on roadside, my sister had her st focus targetted a few times and they now break into the house to get the keys.
  16. Seen this and im very tempted, any good? Would probably fly down and drive back tommorow. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2007-NISSAN-350Z- ... 7C294%3A50
  17. Excellent thanks, so the steering wheel controls can work with after market unit, think im going for the kenwood 5220 or 5240.
  18. Anyone know about above questions please, also what casing do I need for a double din unit and where do I source it from please, thanks. Looks like Ill just replace the bose stereo section. Just called my local car stereo company and they said I need to source the parts and they will fit it.
  19. Damn knew I had a question, if i buy an 07 with steering wheel head unit controls will they still work if i replace the bose stereo with my own head unit, namely the one mentioned above.
  20. Looks perfect that thanks, do you need to buy a seperate bluetooth adapter then for it, also where does the camera go, under the car?
  21. Oh forgot to say, rear reversing camera or reverse parking option would be good too. Budget about £500-700.
  22. What do you mean special case thanks?
  23. Cheers, would make things simpler, just need to get recommended a good one now with all options I want plus the security issue as it would be a target for thieves for sure.
  24. Hi Guys im looking to get my 350z this week but have a few ICE questions as its important to me when choosing the car. If anybody could help I would be greatly appreciated, thanks. 1. If I buy a 350z without the sat nav pod thing in the dashboard in the top section do I have to buy it from Nissan or can any decent sat nav installation centre do it and is it expensive, can they source the plastic casing unit for it? 2.If I go for for the above in number 1 can you get such a head unit that has screen, dvd player, sat nav and hands free bluetooth for mobile phone use? If so anyone recommend a good one please? 3. If I get a screen unit in top bit of dashboard what do I do with existing bose head unit in bottom part as this will mean I essentially have 2 head units and car stereos yes? 4. What about security as I presume you cant take front off the screen unit so its a magnet for thieves? 5. Any other gadget or option thats useful in a car stereo when choosing one. 6. Is it easier if when I buy a car and say it has just the storage bit in the top of dashboard to just replace the head unit in the bottom part with a screen/sat nav unit thing instead, I wouldnt want to keep the bose one it comes with as I have no need for tape deck and require sat nav/handsfree use etc. Sorry for all the questions folks, thanks.
  25. lol im not asking for you to find me one, makes me feel lazy lol!! I'll keep looking.
