  1. For anyone who hasn't got one ---I have just purchased a cd workshop manual on e bay. Cost 99p. + 2.49p postage. This will give me a wiring diagram I presume; and perhaps even give me a map of the fuse-box in English for future ref. Which is one of the things I was unable to decipher.
  2. But then that would be no fun for you would it? I do like a challenge and this forum has raised the bar. Funny I never imagined a mechanic with swinging spanners before. Sounds a bit like a cowboy?
  3. I see my rating has gone up from a NEWBIE to a hopeful. One day I will get it. Hopefully.
  4. Ok Nixy spill the beans and share the window open/shut/door open/ shut/ ignition thingy willya??? My thumbs are tied at the mo and door panel looks nice---may squidge it? Was it Derick?
  5. Sense. If it proves to be the motor; it cannot be repaired? And where else other than Nissan could I source a motor. Is there an aftremarket source for this kinda thing? Thank you again for you help.
  6. Thank you for the info regarding dealers. So the motor is u/s then, and not needing to be reset? If this is the case, is any other Nissan elecric window motor the same part number; or is the z specific only? Thanks again for your input.
  7. hello to h5. Whilst pondering the key question ref "strange elactric window issue" ----- may I ask you what you will do ? Will you bother to do it yourself; or go to your main dealer? Has your local Nissan dealer a good rep--I am in South East or East Anglia --and I am not suggesting any main dealer would knowingly or wantonly wish to damage the vehicle. It is just that we, as owners, care a bit more for the car----and to them it is just another door panel. Good mechanics are great. How long do these subjects, on average, get responses to/from? (dazed but not con fused)
  8. Hi ab350z---thank you, unfortunately the main dealer where I am is not has not reputation goodly. Many stories of full servicing being paid for but not done. Wrecking gaskets sending cars back leaking oil denying knowledge etc.
  9. Not just attacking it but--------putting it around the block--parking it------ someone opening the door next to it after it has been parked----walking by it with said large spanners--------fear basically of letting it go----and the inevitable young lad who is dreaming of Christmas? girls? last night? Mind off the job???
  10. I Fear taking my car to a main dealer as there is to date no scratches anywhere. (ref take car to Nissan) I cannot bear some mechanic attacking it. I tend to be very careful about letting anyone near the car with large spanners etc. Is this fear unfounded? Anyone flew back from Normandy in their z?
  11. Many Thanks to you all for your help and replies. I do apologise sincerely for jerking your consciousness's'ss and hope the walk round the block aided your relief valve. I suppose we all suffer fools to a greater or lesser extent and I am no-doubt one of the biggest fools on the planet. I also suppose that acting the fool confuses people somewhat and again I apologise for that. The pen/sword deal is a fact and whilst one is writing with tongue in cheek it does not mean that it can be read in such a way as to be funny/peculiar---and hence I feel another apology coming on. Please feel free to call me whatever and I will accept that. If you can be now bothered with this idiot and his inability to navigate and peruse or ascertain the information no-doubt here within your forum---I will be more specific if you can bear it. When I sometimesopen or close my drivers side door the window mech will not function. Similarly at this time the window open/close mech fails to function. Secondly whilst inspecting the fuse box inside the drivers compartment; as my car is from Japan (aren't they all?) the code or map is not intelligent i.e. I cannot read Japanese. Thirdly am I incorrect in considering that replacing or simply taking out-putting back the fuse (If and when I work out which one it is)--- will this action of its own volition not re-set the now known avenue to the problem?? Again thank you for your (s) attention and hope that this clarifies the situation and goes someway towards my arrogant response being forgiven. (luv2andy?)
  12. If you really want to look clever---put in the apostrophes in the appropriate places. Otherwise you look thick.
  13. Clever soft if you ask me. I fear that some form of snobberry is attached to these forums. Try the rolls royce enthusiast club if you dare. Now with that in mind and "attention to detail" viz---you may have overlooked my initial enquiry? ref---japanese fuse box. SO if I am one day able to discern the specific fuse, take it out, and put it back in again, will this not therefore have the effect of resetting the mech?? Or is that too too clever as well??? Do I have to labour under the door panel deal? Or is this suggestion just linear or lateral thinking? There is more ways to murder cats for eating. (please remember the pen is mightier than the sword)
  14. You see-----when in trouble or in doubt---sort the biggest bastard out. Perfect---door panels nicely photographed by a genius for the useless minded ham fisted technically bereft OLD flyers. Thank you for the INVALUABLE link to that===and the reset manual. All Ineed to do now is to get you round here...............Just flew back from Normandy--did 150 miles in 2 hrs---with peage and 12 miles of road to the m/way--didn't see a Gendarme---------
  15. Ok I got it. Now all I need to do is ruin my beautiful clean/unmarked door panel and put some scratches in it. Innit. By the way how the what does that item fall off??
