  6. The thing with the AA inspections is when you stop to read the small print - as with many things - they will get out of it. In this case they will say that unless you expressly requested to remove wheels and fully inspect the pads then is a case of 'buyer beware' - and unless you're familiar with the Brembo fitment on the zed you wouldn't know that you can't inspect the rear inside pads properly without the wheels off Good luck with this I sincerly hope you get somewhere
  7. Welcome to the forum - whatever issues you're having with the car - you have a 'relatively' rare one there complete with GT pack - well done
  8. d'you know what I really really want - a whole tank of fuel - just to waste - to simply go for a wee Hoon and not have to justify using the car
  9. Happy Birthday all and a big for my lovely Jay Have a good one
  10. That young person's language is fowl and he was a cheeky wee sod. However what we do not see is the lead up to him being rude. The filming starts once the altercation is in full flow. He purchased two single tickets as the cheapest way of doing his journey and he was issued two for the same journey instead of one for each way. Had the conductor - who was supposedly trained in dealing with challenging situations - stopped to look at said tickets he might have realised that this was not the kid's mistake. If he had perhaps adjusted his aggressive body language and not belittled the young person from the start this would not have escalated the way it did. I think perhaps he may well have dealt with an adult in a suit a lot differently and not just automatically assumed they were fare dodging. The bloke who ‘intervened’ also would not have got involved if this was an adult and it is unlikely he would have dared lay hands on an adult and throw them onto the platform in the manner he did. Don’t get me wrong here this young person did not react well – but why does that justify what is effectively assault? If that ‘big man’ had done that to an adult he would most definitely be charged. I hope he is - or perhaps he should be subject to the new favourite 'punishment' restorative justice whereby he has to apologise to the young person Go on then let the flamage commence
  11. A few people I know use these guys http://www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk/index.htm - my neighbour got an excellent deal from them fully comp including 7 track days per year anywhere in Europe for his Elise - pretty sure it was less than £350 all in. When he did need to make a claim for a total loss (not his fault and on the road) they dealt with him quickly and fairly taking full account of real value of the car. Steer clear of the one track day insurances - they cost around £70-£100 and when you stop to read the small print you are only covered for impact - i.e. if you hit or are hit by someone else. At a well run day this is unheard of. It is much more likely that any damage you sustain would be down to spinning and hitting a wall or going arse deep into the kitty litter. Most insurances will not cover for you 'finding your own limits'
  12. Put in perspective I pay £30 for a dentist who's spend 7 years in university and 20 years building up a practice to carefully drill out my tooth and apply amalgam to the cavity...............I deeply begrudge how much this costs me. £30 for a tyre to be fitted??!?! I'd rather try and put it on my self using my pecker as a tyre iron. +1 £30 a corner is TTP
  13. Just remember your soap on a rope then Am sure it will be fine - is only two months - othr than tax discs the DVLA take at least that long to process ANYTHING
  14. who gave you permission to use my 'Sunday' name?
  15. Yup RBS offer similar includes multi-trip travel insurance as well - so for £124 per year have roadside and home on two cars and as passenger, multi-trip travel for whole family plus a multitude of odds and sods I'll never use- like theatre discounts - but for piece of mind on the road and all travel insurance I thought was worth it. That Quidco cashback deal is a good one though
  16. Mods - do you think this is another wee bit of evidence of the need for a trackdays / motorsport subforum? http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=56081 R8OONER is just another example of folk looking for specific advice on track related zed info and he will have to go looking in 'projects' or build threads for info, then 'trackdays' for info on trackdays and then in separate trader areas for track orientated parts. Project and build threads don't often have 'track car' in their titles so folks will find it difficult to find them. I think at the very minimum we would all benefit from having separate sections for modifications - i.e. mods for showcars and mods for track
  17. Can we quote you on that?! aye that'll be right! You certainly shouldn't be in any 'bar' area Neil - you'd just get banned within a day
  18. Wouldn't rush into making a decision on an exhaust just because you've got the remap booked - and there's no point in having the remap done without the exhaust you intend to have on the car - so stop and think about where you're going with the exhaust before you proceed with the remap Maybe Abbey can advise - but either way won't be a cheap fix
