All good and valid info - some of it not particularly worrying some of it more so... and helpful for anyone planning on travelling to see it who may be automatically put off by any of the issues highlighted - any one of them may make some walk away and they would have had a wasted journey

Absolutely - it is your property and no-one should be assuming they're getting the scrap - you've asked for a quote for work and supplying parts. I am always very clear with any trade if I want parts kept or removed as part of the job. But if you've skipped it you can't be asking about it after the fact

yup they were always the cheapest for me - however when it came down to legal cover and pursuing a biker that ran into my back end they took two years to admit that as I am in Scotland it was not 'financially viable' to pursue using the the Scottish legal system - which means their inhouse solicitors are not up to speed with Scottish law. They even tried to change the claim from a 'no fault' to a 50:50 (retrospectively , two years after the event). I fought them and kept my NCB and they had to keep it as 'no fault' and refund the full excess I had paid on repairs. Feckin chancers would never use them again.

When I am shopping for the next zed I would be more likely to walk away form one with a NIssan service history (unless it was from one of the good HPCs) - and would value one more that had stamps from known independents on here
