  1. Thanks for the heads up on the heater matrix . Although it is a ticking coming from behind the steering wheel it sounds more like the Speedo area than the LHS of the instrument cluster. I will try and determine whether my noise is rev or road speed related. Gut feel says that it's the latter. Cheers S.
  2. I P**s my wife off on a regular basis, so that can't be the cause. However, just too make sure, I will send the cat on a reconnaissance mission under the car and see what she comes back with... S.

  4. Sri. Speddo = Speedo = How fast am I going gauge S.
  5. Hi, Not sure if this is going to develop into a problem, hence the post. From cold, below about 40MPH, I get a sort of ticking that seems to come from the dash possibly the Speedo. After I have gone faster than 40 the noise goes, and does not happen again until the car has been standing overnight. Anyone else had this ? S.
  6. Someones having a laugh... Back in March I brought my 08 Black GT with 9k on the clock from a dealer for £17.5k. S.
  7. Recently got a couple of Falken 452's fitted to the rear as the black marker pen lines were beginning to fade ! The car handles much better, but haven't been out in it when it's really wet. Still, it sure puts a grin on my face every time I drive it... S.
  8. Hi Anubis, Yes, not too far away at Woburn Sands and a meet would be great. The problem I have is, that with age comes experience, but also caution. Done a fair bit of hooning around in the past, together with track sessions, skid pan and various other training. Driven a fair number of cars over the last 45 years, and to date only crashed two... You are right, much too good a car to leave in the garage, besides which the up and over garage door could always fall down on it's roof ! Cheers S.
  9. Only had my Z for 6 months, and I am starting to get paranoid about taking it out on the road. Barely a week goes by without someone posting sad pictures of their Z which has tried to negotiate a roundabout, and failed. I live near Milton Keynes which seems to have millions of the B****RS. Where is the UK's version of a Scalextric layout ? S.
  10. I do hope that it wasn't you in the Fiesta ST that I left for dead on the A5 today... Anyway good move. Welcome to the group S.

    Shop Local

Having been suffering some time from a Slippery Rear End - Quick Nurse the screens !!! I decided to buy a pair of Falken 452's After a lot of time searching for the best deal on the Web, I visited a garage about 4 miles away who was one of those who fit the tyres ordered on-line and then delivered to them. They could get the Falkens by the next day, however, the calculator clicked, and the price just kept going up. They added VAT, fitting charge etc and came up with £300. This was quite a bit higher than my searches on the Web had indicated. I said that I could get them cheaper, to which the man replied, OK well do that. So I was back to square one, more searching... Gloom & Doom On my way home more in desperation than hope I called into the garage in our small town. We use it for servicing, but I had not really thought of them for other than run of the mill tyres. Yes Sir, we can get Falken 452's in two days. How much please ? All in VAT, balanced etc... £250 ! I have just had the tyres fitted, watched them do it, they really took care. I am well pleased. So it's worth considering shopping local. The garage ? Pikesley's - Woburn Sands, Bucks S.
  13. Oedipus... A complex cat, or a cat with a complex ? S.
  14. Also fairly local - Woburn Sands. I would be interested in alternative servicing to the MK Dealer, as although I brought from them, I'm not sure that they are "the sharpest knives in the drawer". S.

  17. Carry a small tape recorder with you, but don't let him see it... Pretend that you don't know what he is talking about, and politely ask him to explain. He should open his mouth wide enough to put his big foot in... Take it to his superiors, or the press. S.
  18. It's the sale of goods act. The goods must be "fit for purpose". These clearly aren't. S.
  19. The first Magic Roundabout to be installed was in Hemel Hempstead. It used to attract crowds on Sundays, just to watch the old f*rts crash into each other. S.
