Hey guys As someone who has recently changed from bmw to Nissan, I'm finding myself a little lost. Before when it came to small trim clips etc or even the bigger things unused the site realoem.com which you could put in your model etc and gave you a full map of the car with pictures and each individual part number. Does nissan have a similar site? Just now i need couple of small things like the trim clip around the battery section of the engine bay and looking for a part number to get a hold of some. ...You get a never endless amount of nonsense when you eBay 350z trim clips etc haha

Stunning car, very similar for what I have in mind for mine.

Awesome pics! well done.

Hi guys you were on the button dead battery. New Lion battery installed an no problems, plus alot quicker ignition than previous aswell. So had my zed for 2.5 days and battery gone! haha

After being absolutely blown away with my zed I have across my first hiccup! Went to leave work last night, turned the key and no start... I put it down to the fact the car had probably been sitting a while and been having it on and off for short spells to let people see/hear it etc. Got the tech with his jump pack at the work to hook it up and started no problem first time. I took it a run after that to let it charge up. Got up this morning and nothing again, could hear the starter clicking but no ignition. Hooked up jump leads again its fired no problem. This sound like a dead battery or have I got something a bit bigger to worry about?

Im finally apart of the zed family

Thanks guys for all the warm welcomes. Payco your definetly right about that aerial, I ordered one from ebay but im now worrying about the base width to fit nicely. Do you know of any traders on here that do a nice short one? My plans are small... just now! The first thing that is getting done is to fit a double din screen that enables sat nav, bluetooth, rev camera, ipod playback etc and work through the steering wheel controls obviously. Shortly after I am looking at maybe a zunsport grill for the front and the bulge bonnet but I'm struggling to find them right now. I've been told Nissan themselves are shockingly cheap for supplying the bonnet. Anyone else confirm this? Im in the process of trying to order bonnet struts and boot divide cover from a member on here. Later in the year I think i'll go downt he line of pop-charger with heatshield and a remap maybe. Although im just dying for a day off to give it some tlc and a tankfull of V-power! If anyone has reccomendations on sellers for the parts im looking for please let me know! Cheers -
I believe the breakdown cover is from the RAC. I presume the basic breakdown/roadside assistance would be covered by the policy. I have noticed that around £350 seems very reasonable in comparisson to some of they quotes Zmanalex I'm from the glasgow area WhackyWill, I've contacted infinity braehead (linked on this forum) about doing the servicing for me also their service department are getting back to me with their prices on Monday. I just think aswell it might be slightly advantageous to have nissan stamps in the book than an indy garage but im certainly open to overall cost effectiveness.

i'll probably do around 7000 miles a year. I was thinking though when looking at the service schedule the next two services from them have priced at just over 200 pounds each for a service, which i know is high. Including breakdown cover at say roughly £100 a year As I said the last service has been at a private dealership and doesnt state it met the requirements of a p3 service. I know I'm new to the Nissan world but would Nissan not have a minimum quality when it comes to service items? Its good to get to know these things so thanks for the feedback fowks

Hey guys having just purchased my zed i've been doing a bit of research into some local garages to do the servicing. The local Nissan dealer are offering this, £135 upfront £13.99 a month thereafter for 2 years For this you will get: All servicing required including any filters or plugs etc Breakdown Cover with option to return any destination of your choice 10% of parts and/or labour at Nissan. I think this seems to be a fairly good deal. My only issue is since the car was serviced 3000 miles ago (79k on the clock at this point) at a private dealership should I push for a service by them immediately to ensure its been done correctly? Also since I only have the master key and require another this could be helpful with a discount there. Let me know what you fowks think please

Hey guys! Some of you may have seen me searching for a Zed recently. First of all thanks to those who have helped. So here it is 54 GT model Hope you lot like it. Weather has took a turn for the worst since I got it so I will get some better pics on soon!

Too true Kris, getting one up here would be a major plus. Is there 2 different colours of blue? This seems to be a tad lighter than most pics i see of azure blue. If I wasnt skiving in work i'd be able to get a pic to show.

Thanks for the quick replys guys. I was anticipating around 6.5k for it. He has the car advertised for £7245 Its a noticeable ask to get him to that price but I will make a point of it, if I decide that the car is for me. If I get a good value for my trade in plus his price down a bit Im sure a cash offer for the rest will hopefully entice him to accept it.

Hi fowks, going to look at my third zed. The first two were great examples but someone had beaten to them both by the time I got to see them. I am booked to view and drive a 54 UK GT Zed in blue with black interior, FSH and 81000 miles on the clock. Its being sold be a local dealership, no brand name sellers to have to break down. From what I have been told and seen from pics the car has a black wrapped roof, gunmetal finished 18'' standard wheels and an aftermarket exhaust system. I am not overly swayed by an aftermarket exhaust as I believe it or not like the stock sound. I am just curious what value more experienced zed users would put on such a car with some minor age related stone chips etc aslong as nothing major is there. Thanks fowks look forward to hearing some responses hopefully to my liking!

Hi guys the car was for me after contacting the company this morning... its sold! Gutted thanks for the help though.

Possible zed on the horizon
martybhoy replied to martybhoy's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Thanks chaps for the info on the clutch good to hear that if treated well it can last. Anyone got any thoughts on the imports? Is there any mechanical differences that parts may not be attainable in the uk? I notice also that the prices of zeds can be quite varied. See similar models spec mileage and condition with sometimes up to around £3000 difference. -
Possible zed on the horizon

Hey fowks, a wee update on the z hunting. I was at the nissan dealership in barrhead on friday. Really doing my nosey at one of the few dealer cars listed online right now for sale in the glasgow area. it was a 57 gt with the sat nav etc. They wanted £10500, out my price range as I intend on just paying cash for the car I choose. My point though I am hooked! The sales chap and me were out for just under an hour. Thoroughly enjoyed being behind the wheel of one again. I have been reading on here how a clutch should probably have been replaced somewhere between 40-80k miles, I was told this was nonsense... also that a transmission fluid change should happen around this time.... was told this was a non serviceable item. Can anyone confirm to me that these are true because I'd rather trust guys running the cars than a sales boy in a dealership? Now as i've pointed out my budget was between 6-8 grand for a car. I've noticed a lot of imports going really cheap with good spec and very low miles. From the old top gear review I remember that the suspension setup is supposedly not top knotch for our roads but is there any other mechanical difference? Also other than the resale value not being as good, is there any other main reason for going against an import? Im not too bothered about a lesser resale value if I pay less in the first instance. Cheers guys... Im on the hunt! -
Possible zed on the horizon
martybhoy replied to martybhoy's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome messages. I've been doing my research. I've noticed around my budget alot of cars tend to be around the 60k mile mark. I've been told that the clutch starts to go around then, if there is no evidence of this from a seller would you say its worth bringing it up to drop the prices? Im ideally looking for a pre 06 plate in gt spec. Not a huge amount around but I would certainly say when they do they dont last very long. It's extremely irritating watching some cracking zeds come and go but i spent a few bob on getting a new roof for my z3 so Im watching to get some time and money back on that. Obviously my z3 being a convertible take a dip in value around winter time, does this reflect any in the 350 market for being a summer toy for some? ohh and Kris your surely not selling yours! -
Hi fowks, to cut a long story short I fell for the 350z after having a shot of a friends some years ago. I currently drive a bmw z3 I had originally big plans for it, however if I'm honest my minds always wandered back to picking up a 350z. I have been looking at the current prices and along with getting shot of my z3 it's looking like it will happen. I have taxed and insured my z3 till january, which is fine because I will aim to change around christmas time. I just have a few questions I wonder if some zed enthusiasts can help me with. So here goes fowks... Is there any sort of buying guide ie things to look out for? any particular year/ engine model to go for? Common faults? brakes? suspension etc? Diff oil/gearbox oil changes needed at intervals? Whats the sort of rough prices for general replacement brakes? shocks and springs? other general maintenance parts I should be aware of? I've budgeted around 6-8k for the car i'll go for. Would that be a good ballpark figure for a nice clean example with lowish miles? Thanks fowks. I shall be lurking in the background over the next few months gathering my info and wishlist whilst I await my chance to go for my car. Hope to be a zed owner soon! If I can hold back till then!

Iv just tried bell! it actually works out slightly dearer than admiral and elephant, quite gutting! I know what yous mean when you say it is ridiculous, it really is, but motoring being my real hobby its not as if id spend it on much else lol n you gotta treat yourself sometimes right? still on the search though for cheaper insurance, feel free to give any other recommendations i might be able to get a good deal with.

Hey guys the times closing in on the start of my zed ownership time. I have been doing a good bit of quoting and so far the best is, with; 20 years old Been a name driver for 2 years 1 claim (not at fault) it comes to £2300, with admiral and elephant not to much behind it Some people are saying thats a bit much but my friend gave me a shot of his (now got a gtr) n i fell in love with it so my response has been honestly its worth it. Have you guys heard of anyone else same circumstances getting anywhere cheaper? thanks guys
