I'm going to give the dealer one last chance to sort it, it's going back in on wednesday. If no joy from that I will get in contact with Nissan UK

This is doing my head in I've been back to the dealer now twice. The first time they did something to some sensor, the second time they did the tracking yet my ESP is STILL cutting in! Anyone got any ideas because obviously the dealer hasn't
  5. Blimey you will be busy then with all that lot! Why not fit that new Subaru 2.5 Ltr Diesel Boxer engine in the van - bound to be quick and good on fuel - its a flat 6 also I think? RX8 engine is tiny that may even fit in the Bug - trouble is the first corner you come to will end up on your door handles! I think I'm going to leave the van as standard as it's generally a nice original example but I have known people to put Subaru engines in, if I remember correctly I think they pretty much go straight in without having the hack away at the engine bay. Someone knows their stuff Hmmm this thread was supposed to be about bike racks wasn't it?
  6. That is encouraging, thanks
  7. Hello, Yeah it's got a 1600 lump in it, with single port heads though so it looks like a 1500. I don't know what happened to the original engine although I'm kind of glad it's not 36hp anymore It's going in for resto in a couple of weeks The beetle is actually quite economical on motorways but it just takes sooooo long to get anywhere. I have a 2L T4 engine which I've been building although that idea has fallen by the wayside recently as I've been too busy to finish it off. Thats going to help with the acceleration, but top speed will still be poor unless i slap a Gene Berg 5 speed box in it. And even then it's so low I'd be shaken apart over every bump Easier to fit a bike rack on the Zed. I will report back once I have the rack and it's fitted.
  8. I would but it's back at the dealers again Should get it back tomorrow
  9. Well, I just bought a Bird Automotive one. It will be with me in 2 weeks I forgot about shipping and VAT IT WAS NOT CHEAP I'm going away for a little cry now....
  10. again ESP till not fixed Better but still playing up. I've told the dealer to sort the tracking and I'll take it back in the week
  11. Silver coupe came past me (silver 05 roadster) at about 100mph on A40 westway towards London about 8.45pm today. Flashed you but no response
  12. It may have succeeded After all I did manage to just randomly drop my only key in the middle of a field
  13. Hello! No not yet, when I took it back to the dealer about the door and sat nav I also mentioned the ESP in the hope they'd do it and they reckon they've fixed the ESP now. I don't think they have touched the tracking though but I'll find a local place and get it done anyway for sure. They said they're recalibrated the sensor? It seems to be better but I have only done the short journey from the dealership. I'll take it out for a blat around this evening to test it
  14. Thanks for everyone's help. I've taken it back to the dealer they've got the sat nav working lovely and the door now works fine too
  15. I've just joined the group too
  16. Nice to meet you all! Sorry I couldn't stay long, busy busy! But a big thanks to everyone for helping me out with the little niggles. I've turned the ESP off in the meantime, until I get the tracking sorted. And Martin, thanks for the hood cover tip, I put WD40 on the hood as soon as I got home and it seems to have worked I'll make another meet ASAP. Have a good evening, and day tomorrow!

I've checked the tyre pressures this evening and they were fine. I can only think it's the difference in wear in the rear tyres or something more sinister. I will have to take it back to the dealer

Yes it normally is like that (it seems to particularly dislike slight right hand bends at speed of about 40) about 95% of incidents but twice now it's done it and then decided to stay on. If I stop and turn the engine off normal service is resumed though. Weird

Yes all the tyres are identical just different sizes front/back It's dark now so checking the tyre pressures is a job for tomorrow although none of them look low

OK here's the deal... Both front tyres are new Bridgestone 225/45 R18, with about 8mm tread from what I can see (I'm assuming these are the ones the dealer replaced as both fronts were low from what I remember) Both rears are Bridgestone 245/45 R18. Rear O/S tyre has about 7mm tread and N/S has only about 4mm, which is probably the problem I'm guessing thats assuming it's tyre wear (I hope so) causing it I can't claim on the warranty so should I replace both rear or do you think I'll be ok just to replace the worn one? And where is the cheapest place to get these tyres?
  21. I might be coming up, in my new baby Although I don't think I can stay overnight I've got too much stuff on. Does anyone know if I can just pay for one day and no camping?
