  1. +1 I did the same with mine a few months back ... looks a lot tidier
  2. I sometimes take my 6 year old niece out in my Zed ... I do feel slightly uncomfortable when she's in the car .. and I tend to drive VERY cautiously .... It's not very often though ...
  3. It's a very common issue on the exhaust system ... I had the same problem last year as well ... The welder I went to cut away the existing flange and replaced it with a similar flange he had lying around ... not had any problems with it since.
  4. I just checked the price of my NAS drive again and it seems to have come down a lot! It's still more than what I paid for it but only by around £20 ... I don't think they'll be coming down that much anyway ... I had a P1 service done at CS yesterday and also got Andy to add some Molyslip to my gearbox oil while it was up on the ramp ... The gear change doesn't seem any different to before, but Mitz said it might take a week or so for the Molyslip to properly mix with the gearbox oil..
  5. No worries dude ... I check out HotukDeals everyday for bargains .. only problem with that is that I end up spending too much on things I don't really need .. LoL Seagate drives are usually pretty good ... I think you'd be fine with any of the major brands though to be honest ... I'm always up on on a Saturday! It's the best time to get stuff done ... I'm going to be a CS today at 12pm for a service so pop down if you're not up to much I purchased a 2TB Western Digital Network drive this time last year and that has literally doubled in price too! I thought it was probably a misprice but the Thailand floods sounds like a more likely reason ...
  6. Have you checked http://www.HotukDeals.com ? I just had a quick look and saw this Seagate 2TB external drive for £80 http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/seagate-freeagent-goflex-desk-external-hard-drive-2tb-for-only-79-99-pcworld-quidco-1070237
  7. Yeah that would be brilliant if you could ... I think I'm going to take the plunge and start looking for a cheap unit ... Thanks again for your help!
  8. Thanks for the reply .. That helps a lot .. I would probably have cut the car charger and tried to wire that up to the existing socket .. LoL I think I'd probably go for a larger speaker too compared to trying to wire it to the HU. I think the only thing I'm not really sure about now is relocating the button ... i assume that involves getting a new switch and extending the existing wiring? Thanks again
  9. How did you connect the speaker up to your nav unit? Was it a case of soldering it on to the board? When you hard wired the unit to your cigarette lighter ... did you have to dismantle the car charger provided and just connect the wires up behind the socket? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions .. it's just that I'm really wanting to have a go at it now after reading this thread ... Also I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to electrics
  10. By the way I've been reading up on these too .... you need a Wifi or 3G connection in order to use the GPS functionality: http://www.viewsonic.com/products/vpad7.htm Just thought I'd mention it incase you weren't aware ..
  11. Dave, How does the sound work for your Navigation? Does it go thorugh your headunit or via the unit's speaker? I've been looking at some 7" touchscreen units on ebay ... The one Nurrish uses is: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320792655781?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I'm considering getting one and having a go myself .. not too sure how I would extend the power button and hard wire it though

    Kit ID

Nismo kits are subtle but make a huge difference ..
  13. That looks really good! Which 7" lcd unit did you buy? Was it difficult to wire up & install the unit into the cubby? Did you have to add a switch somewhere to power on/off the unit ?
  14. Mine doesn't have navigation but I have a build in nissan sat nav Xanavi 5.1. However this has not updated what so ever. That's why I want to replace this for a tablet, more features and still a satnav with a touchscreen in the cubby. I can also go for the add on of the Pioneer, however they are expensive and still have my old nav in the cubby. Also like the position of th cubby better for a satnav. So that my reason why I want to build a tablet in my cubby where my old sat nav is. Peter I've got the old Xanavi 5.1 Sat Nav unit as well ... I'd be interested to know how you get on with this project as it's something that I've been thinking about for some time now ...
  15. It's funny when people speed past my house as there's a speed bump a little down the road ... The noise of the front bumper scraping on the tarmac as they speed by always makes me laugh ..
  16. I was searching for screens and installs etc yesterday and found a site where the guy had located the switch where the heated seats switches are ... he's also extended a usb port to this panel as well .. I thought it looked pretty good!
