  1. Any chance of some pics ... I'd be interested in gettng some of these myself ...
  2. Hahaha ... The best I've had so far was when a guy at work asked: "Doesn't your car work out when it's on a track and increase performance? I think he was talking about a Skyline R35 ... LoL
  3. I think there is a 30 second window to connect your phone from the time you turn your keys in the ignition ... I've tried to switch my bluetooth on after driving for some time and it never connects ... The best way is to Make sure that the Bluetooth is switched On .. and then turn the keys ... Pair it with the car and from then on it should automatically find it as long as the phone's bluetooth is switched on.

    mpg??

I average about 24 - 26 mpg over the week ... that includes about 35 miles on A Roads and about 5 miles city driving Monday to Friday ... I don't usually put my foot down ... but I like to test it atleast once everyday
  5. Shire ... I not sure but I think that the ESP Off and Skid Warning lights are related to the faulty sensor ... when my car has fired up first time I don't get these lights showing ... it's only when I have to crank for a long time that these lights appear ... and even then after leaving it for about an hour they are off again ... I think I'm just gonna leave the fitting to the professionals ... I did find a pdf explaining what was involved for replacing the Crank Position Sensor but after ZMANALEX's comment I don't want to screw things up .. So just to confirm ... I'm correct in thinking that a 335 error code refers to a faulty Crank Position Sensor ... right? Thanks
  6. I would have to go for the looks out of the two ... but the performance is still very important to me ... There's no point looking the part if it can't deliver ... IMO
  7. I am double posting this but only so that it concludes this thread for future readers ... I have been posting to the the following thread as or problems were identical: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=27455 Well .. I haven't had the car wired up to an OBD reader yet but I've just done the ECU Reset procedure and read the code when it flashes up in that morse code type of way ... It's confirmed that in my case it definitely is the Crank Position Sensor as it flashed up 335 ... Hopefully once I have that fitted all will be back to normal .... Thanks very much to all who have provided solutions and ideas etc ... I will update once the smile has been restored to my face .. LoL

  9. By the way how difficult is it to replace the Crank Position Sensor on a Zed? I've ordered the part from my local Nissan stealer and it will be arriving tomorrow morning ... Is it worth me having a go or should I just leave it to the professionals? Thanks.
  10. Shire, I think you're right about it not being too good for the car ... So far I've never had the car cut out on me either while driving or stationary ... It's lucky that the meet is in Leicester and at Paprika because I live about 5 minutes drive from there ... LoL Ideally I want to have it sorted before the weekend ... I'm tempted to just go out and buy a Crank Position Sensor and fit it ... I'm pretty confident that's the problem now. When are you having your error code read?
  11. I too have a similar problem ... but will be purchasing some spray grease at the weekend ... Thanks a lot guys!
  12. Chris That would be a great help ... Yes my car is a UK Spec ... I really just need to read the error code that is displaying a the moment as I'm having some issues with it starting over the last 2 days ... From another thread it's been suggested that it's the Crank Position Sensor but just want to confirm that before I go out and spend £68 on a new one from Nissan ...
  13. Does anyone comming to the meet have an OBD reader? I've been having problems with my zed over the last few days and want to check if any error codes are being thrown up. I ordered a diagnostic kit from the internet but doubt it will arrive any time soon ... Please let me know. Thanks
  14. After some research this morning I too am begining to think it is probably due to a faulty Crank Position Sensor now ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crank_sensor The symptoms I've been experiencing sound very similar to those described in the the above link ... I have'nt had the CEL light come back on since yesterday so will wait for it to come back and try and get it diagnosed ...
  15. Ok so it seems that my problem is not completely resolved either yet ... I jumped in the car this morning and went to start it ... it did start up first time and then died about 5 seconds later ... so I tried again and it took about 10 seconds more than usual but still started up after that ... no lights were showing either so I thought it all was ok ... I was looking at the Rev counter while driving on the way to work and it seemed like it was slightly delayed at times and then jumped slightly to where it should be ... not sure what that means but it defintely wasn't happening before the these issues started ...
  16. Alright mate, I'm about 80% sure its the battery now ... After my last update I left the car parked for another hour or so before I topped the coolant ... But the coolant level on my Zed is slightly above max so there was no need ... anyway I tried to start it again and it worked first time ... so switched off and tried again and again no problems ... the CEL light was still on so I did the ECU reset again and sicne then it's been fine ... I'm not getting any of the lights anymore and the starting problems are resolved ... I've tried it a few more times since then and it's not had any problems ... I think all it needed was a good run; as it takes me around 40 minutes to get to work ... I've not done anything to the car other than fill up some fuel this morning and drive it ... so it's got to be something related to the battery in my opinion ... It maybe worth charging your battery overnight just to rule it out ... I've ordered myself some diagnostic kit which should arrive in a few days so I'll get it wired up and check for any weird sensor readings ... I'll let you know what I find ... Good luck with yours mate ... From my experience so far I'm sure it's nothing serious
  17. Just thought I'd provide an update on my situation ... The car was still giving my problems starting this morning when I left for work and the CEL, ESP Off and Skid Warning lights were still on ... Drove the car to work which is about an hour away and left it parked all day ... Then after work I went to start it and it started first time ... all the lights were as normal apart from the CEL light which was still on ... so drove the car to Nissan to get some coolant and when I got back it started first time again ... I haven't topped up the coolant yet, but it kind of suggests that it could be related to the battery ... any thoughts?
  18. I've not been able to check the coolant today as I've been at work ... but will have a look tonight when I get home ... The lights are a bit misleading because if I leave the car for a few hours the lights goes off ... it's only from having to crank it for ages that the lights re-appear ... I will call a few garages this afternoon also to see if they've got the necessary equipment to read the error codes etc... Thanks for the help ... I'll keep you updated ..
  19. Shire, Can you let me know how you get on .... I'm trying to find someone close with a diagnostic tool but have had no luck so far ....
  20. Ian, The Digimoto software looks pretty good from reading their site ... What version do you have and which interface cable do you use .. ELM or mOByDic? Thanks
  21. I don't know ... maybe cranking it for too long has tripped out the CEL lights ... Just a thought but what about the spark plugs? Could dodgy plugs cause an issue such as this?
  22. I'm going to take it to a local garage in the next few days to have it checked out ... Have a look at my thread below as it may be useful for you too ... viewtopic.php?f=10&t=27444
  23. I'm having the exact same problem. I was driving it around fine last night and then this morning it wasn't turning over straight away ... It takes some time and effort before it finally gets going ... I've never had any problems with it starting up in the past ... I also have the CEL, ESP Off and Skid warning lights on ... I tried an Ecu reset which cleared the lights but it still takes ages to start up and then the lights return ...
  24. I read on another site that it could be related to the key so I just tried again using the master key and no difference .... It does eventually start up after cranking for a few minutes ... I just don't want to be left stranded somewhere due to it not starting at all ...
  25. Hmmm ... I don't know. I've got a jump start kit and tried with that attached and it still doesn't start up first time ... What's the best way to test the battery?
