  1. Sounds like it thinks the roof catch is still in place. Is there a stuck sensor/switch where you disengage? I no longer have my roadster to go out and check but I'm thinking similar to the door one where of it sticks the interior lights don't come on etc.
  2. We have similar issues. At the end of our road is a T junction. Opposite is a row of popular shops with plenty of parking turning left there is an almost immediate right which takes you to the entrance of the car park and turning right out of the road takes you to the local state primary school which just so happens to be one of the best in Chester. So when it's dropping off and picking up time parents will park anywhere they can, pavements, on the corner opposite the exit to the road etc etc. it makes it worse that the shops also get busy around these times so you have to be really careful exiting that junction especially as large hedges also obstruct your vision. As bad as it is as discussed it's your responsibility to ensure it is safe to perform the manoeuvre. We have noticed the local PCSO's enforce the law on occasion but it's forgotten once they leave. I've even witnessed a woman drop her cherished off then speed off past the school putting her seatbelt on not looking where she's going.
  3. Don't think we will hear anything else official for a while. The location of Schumacher's rehabilitation is being kept secret to respect his privacy, and it is not expected that there will be any further updates about his exact condition imminently. I agree that the doors are going to close for a while. I also think we should respect their wishes for privacy. I know we all crave to hear how he's doing but their privacy is really important. I just hope the media understands and respects this as per my earlier posts. Fantastic news, let's hope for as good a recovery as possible but leave them in peace while Michael and his family rebuild their life.
  4. Wow that is great news. Hopefully we get a little more detail on his status then the media will leave him and his family alone to get on with his long recovery.
  5. I think i'm too cautious to be lucky. The other reason i've not bought is i see the housing market as being too volatile. The way house prices are rising right now, i can only see them falling through the floor when the bubble bursts again. It sounds like you're very similar to me me marzman risk adverse but want something comfortable. I took the plunger a couple of years back and by the sounds of it on a similar salary to you when I bought my house. I stopped looking at the places I really wanted and looked at somewhere more realistic. My OH had an apartment which wouldn't sell so I scraped together an amount of money which I deemed I'd want to be at least a 10% deposit. That then gave us our price range. We were using my salary alone to base the mortgage on. We lucked out (so far) that we found somewhere that needed a little doing but was at the bottom end of the scale in the street with room to extend etx which most of the other houses of the same type don't. We invested some more in bringing the house up to scratch which now it's at the upper end of the scale for the this type of house in the street and the apartment has had one tennant since she moved out which just covers that mortgage. The aim for the next few years is to put in as much equity in to the house as possible then look to either move or extend. The same plan as far as equity goes into the apartment too. The problem most forget about is the ceiling price for the property, there will always be one especially when the value of your property starts knocking on the door of the property around the corner which is the next one up but is also the bottom of that scale if you see where I'm coming from. In essence don't aim too high but what you can afford. Look for a poor house in a good street I guess Also you don't know what debt and stress the guy with the huge house is in!
  6. Now my similar mistake doesn't look so bad Glad you're all sorted
  7. Only just seen this. I never use the auto channel, I scan the local wifi and pick one as far away from the majority I can I just can't get an open NAT on cod unless I put it in the DMZ.
  8. See Halo has never really grabbed me before that said the master chief or whatever collection will be a good way of getting people like me interested prior to Halo 5. I'll probably end up picking it up to give it a chance - I did try the first instalment on PC and back then felt it didn't feel right..... While typing this the xbox ad has just been on and when he says "xbox on" my xbox fired up :scare: They didn't think that one through did they
  9. I'd offer to meet you but I've just sat down with a hard earned beer
  10. You will be fine. I went another 20 miles or so when it went to - - - If you're worried and can make chester Let me know and I can give you £20 quid or so to get home. Can't help on the reason why your card was eaten though. If you want a laugh I was in M&S last weekend, card rejected twice so ended up paying on credit card. I used my card at an ATM the day before that I just had a feeling about so went home and called the bank. They checked and said there wasn't an issue with my card but could I read back the expiry date.... Yep my card had expired, the new one was sitting at my old address. I hadn't updated my address as I couldn't do it online so dealt with the other address changes but never went back to that as intended One problem with electronic statements these days. Good luck!
  11. Its a way of looking for vulnerabilities. Having software up to date (including AV and firewall) is a must. However if there are vulnerabilities with software that have yet to be discovered your AV/firewall software will probably not be looking for it. To be fair these typically are targeted attacks against large organisations but is still valid for the average home user. I'm no expert on the security side (I do talk to some regularly though) but I do know keeping software up to date and using your common sense are the key ways to avoid any issues. Edit: I use windows firewall, seems to do a reasonable job for me.
  12. I agree mostly however not all viruses come in via email. Lots of port scanning and other tricks being used. A good AV product (I use avast too), common sense and keeping software up to date are crucial. The place I work at has the most spam and therefore potential malware messages after the US government on the planet. I used to work in the messaging team and used to sit there watching a counter go up as all the crap came in. I remember my boss telling me to kill all the external connections when the iloveyou virus was going around. Folks can be so stupid at times
  13. Had a look tonight. Disabling upnp without my one in the DMZ had only one effect..... Stopped my external access to my thermostat. Cod still doesn't like it and that's where I think the problem lies BT homehub 5 if anyone is interested
  14. Ahh excellent. I missed that
  15. Sorry my question was in relation to your auto sign in issue..... Unless you've sorted that too?
  16. Have you got more than one GT on your xbox? I ask as the June update has a fix for auto sign in if you have more than one GT on there.
  17. Just my 2p but I think 4. The others seem to be compromise on the OEM look or function. Out of interest have you thought about glare from sunlight? It can be bad on sat navs and using it for all functions as you are planning could be a nightmare especially as it's not tactile.
  18. I'll have to check upnp but from memory I had to have it enabled to support some of my other network devices but I believe I did disable to test and it was still the same. I also seem to remember reading very conflicting advice with some saying enable and some disable for the one but as always it will be down to individuals network. It gives me a good excuse to sit in the office for a couple of hours tonight tinkering
  19. Yep done that for the known ports for both cod and live. Live is not a problem but cod is unless I put the one in the DMZ. I don't like doing that so periodically tinker to see if anything has changed or the router has had new firmware which takes care of it. I was hoping suits' new found info would help but it doesn't so thanks for nothing Suits
  20. Bit of a none news article really but using "mr bean saves f1 drivers life" even though correct is a bit misleading to the general public. Also nothing different from a zed owner taking care of a fellow zed owner out on a club organised drive. Kudos to the guy really
  21. So I was hoping I could remove my one from my routers DMZ by going to network settings and then while multiplier test thingy was highlighted press both bumper and trigger buttons to check. Didn't do anything, that said the one shows NAT as open but ghosts shows it as moderate, opened all known port for that cod uses and mapped to the one without any joy I am running the June OS though so not sure if that's been disabled. Oh and that reminds me external storage is enabled but only for USB3 devices over 256gb which I don't have
  22. Agreed re useful info especially holding both triggers and bumper buttons. And in answer to MAC addresses. All interfaces are hard coded with a unique MAC address however it is possible to change them or spoof them in some circumstances. I used to do that for my old NTL broadband to get around some of their quirky requirements on my router spoofing a registered MAC EDIT: I'm not sure why that advised doing that here, maybe there's issues with having multiple xbox on the same private network when it comes to the NAT
  23. I'm sure you already know this, but there is one I meant do we get money for advertising the forum haha Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk Please tell me how that financial model works? You want a free library of information to pay you for advertising the site to add more none paying members which costs considerable amounts of money to run/host?
