  1. The OH has been off since early last week and thats why I don't finish until 5pm Christmas Eve until the 2nd She's Christmas nuts so it's better I stay in work
  2. There is one for about £150 obviously not as detailed but looks great also the Death Star looks just as awesome. As an adult I now appreciate the relative cost of Lego to my parents but it has to be the most value for money toy they could buy me. I would play for hours and hours building and rebuilding various trucks and buildings. The kits are good but I loved creating my own stuff and I think that's where Lego seems to let itself down these days as they don't encourage imagination just set kits. I've hovered over the order button for ecto1 mind
  3. Have you took it into the shop? If they are good they should be able to tell you and supply.
  4. Im not able to give you the answer but if you have an old fashioned hardware store close by id go there. If they haven't got what you need they will certainly be able to tell you what you need. Edit: Google "fasteners" and your town, you may find there's a specialist. There's one a few miles away from me and no matter what you take in they will have the correct nut, bolt or adapter
  5. Marzman, dos you roar like Godzilla while playing with that city? You must've looked like a giant on a rampage Impressive setup though, is have been continually rebuilding parts of it though
  6. I like those, always great to see people turning their hand at something new. well done! One thing though and I could be well off the mark but if you start doing this as a small business will you have licensing issues using the distilleries name?
  7. Agree re the risk but saves are stored in the cloud so it's a matter of downloading the game bits so only minor. I remember talking to an IBM exec at a conference a few years back and this is exactly what he was predicting, the growth of data will push density up and costs down. You need performance throw more spindles at it but most consumers are TB's not IO. That was an interesting conference along with the labs I visited but probably not for this thread
  8. So there are I know I've had this conversation with colleagues and none of us knew of those extra two. Ordered that 4tb drive, thanks very much. Hard drive arrived a short time ago, installed and formatted now just moving some stuff over and made it my default install drive. Thanks v much Ekona, great buy for the price. I'm surprised to see 4tb units so cheap but I guess as more and more enterprise class storage systems are using high density sata and sas disks they are bringing the cost down.
  9. On a slightly different note, has anyone looked at their consoles data usage? I was surprised that with game updates (no digital downloads) my console is averaging 30gb per month of of game updates and online gaming. glad I'm unlimited.
  10. So there are I know I've had this conversation with colleagues and none of us knew of those extra two. Ordered that 4tb drive, thanks very much.
  11. That looks quite a good buy. I didn't know it had another 2 ports... I'll have to check later
  12. No issues with mine (day one) apart from now having to manage disk space. I'll buy an external usb3 drive at some point but with only one usb which is on the side I'm reluctant to as my setup is on the box in the box room and the OH already complains about t looking untidy. I'm in the Xbox preview programme and have closed beta access to halo 5 MP this weekend. I've never been a fan of halo but after enjoying destiny I think I'll give it a try. Anyone else got access?
  13. Let me know what you think, the OH has asked what game is like for Christmas and this is the only one I'm considering.
  14. Jeez they were so popular IIRC too. The reason why I wondered about him was he just seemed to say right I'm going travelling and he was gone. Maybe he travelled a couple of miles to get away from customers
  15. BBK that's similar to my commute and was rarely using my zed towards the end and weekends we also didn't use it as it wasn't very practical with the dog etc. Back on topic, when I first joined there were a couple of characters one being the ugg boot wearing Jayand I cannot for the life of me remember his sidekicks name (they seemed to be a duo) I think it was something like sly followed by some numbers. I have also wondered about nurrish.
  16. I see this one regularly but always parked up near the bear and billet pub. Think it's a resident of that area.
  17. I'm not saying they are stupid but some are less savvy in the way modern frauds work. In fact I'd say she was more savvy than my 20 year old niece who was surprised when she left her laptop on the train it wasn't handed in to lost property. She used my mums laptop to complete some course work and then I spent the next few days clearing all the crap off it due to her allowing everything and anything to install to it. Anyway you never know, this thread may have helped the red line guy if he's still lurking
  18. I hear you and when I hear of folks who should know better then fair enough but most senior folks are a lot more trusting and I feel it's that demographic they are targeting and are most successful with. I've questioned them quite a bit in the past and they typically have a plausible answer for most questions. When one of them was asking me to press the windows key (to show me the event log) I asked where the windows key was on a MAC, he hung up
  19. I regularly get these whenever I work from home. They seem to target during the day time when they have more chance of getting someone less savvy (senior citizens etc) if I have time I have played along with them. I have been tempted to build a vanilla VM with an FBI logo as its wallpaper just to see what happens It does pee me off as some folks are obviously falling for this. my mother who is well into her 60's who had her first computer only a few years back gets these too and because I've told her not to give any detail or access to her computer to anyone over the phone unless it's me. Bless her she has listened and just tells them she doesn't know what windows is Worth posting this sort of stuff regularly as if sooner see another one of these posts than hear of someone falling victim
  20. I missed that too, amazing. Was it the Easter holidays by any chance.... Mouthwash's "eating" post was brilliant.
  21. He almost certainly got banned, that was a MEGA incident. Although again I didnt witness it full frontal unfort. Yeah there was more than one I think. The one I witnessed was why are disabled people allowed nice new cars and blue badges IIRC.
  22. How about BMW Stu? I lost count of how many bmw's he bought when going to view Zeds
  23. I have this conversation with my misses daily from mid October Christmas ( not Xmas as that would be crossmass surely) should start the 24th as far as I'm concerned. Now bah humbug the lot of you
  24. Bollox, totally forgot about that. In that case, not much point in suing them also Marzman has opened the screen up so Samsung won't be interested in a goodwill gesture either
  25. There is no such thing as a EU 2 year warranty. Where the hell do people even got this from originally?? The relevant EU Directive provides that member states must allow at least 2 years for claims to be brought, it does not provide that the goods must last for 2 years. Under the UK law you have 6 years to bring the claim anyway, so this Directive adds nothing to your rights. And you cannot sue a company for breaching a EU Directive anyway, only EU Regulations have that effect. marzman As others have said, contact Samsung, they might fix it for you as a gesture of goodwill. Failing that, Section 14 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 provides that goods have to last for a "reasonable time". For a 55" TV, that was presumably more than £1k when you bought it, 2 years is not a reasonable time by any stretch of imagination. Contact Comet, but make sure to speak to a manager, or their head office, as the ordinary workers will not have a clue about customer laws. If you will get nowhere with them (most probably), sue them. Comet are no longer trading
