  1. I emailed Sextons on Friday regarding the steerig wheel control cable (29-007). They have told me that the new cables that they have are the same as the 29-020 so the one I receive should work fine......sounds a bit odd to me but I'll try it and see. I also decided to order the iPod cable, as I might as well fit it whilst all the console is out. Not sure the best place to run it too though - possibly the cubby behind the drivers seat, as I find that I get feedback on bluetooth when I get a call if I leave it in the centre console box. I presume that the cage for the headunit, or the headunit itself attaches to the standard brackets that the Bose unit is screwed onto? Wheres the best place to bolt the ground cable too - any bit of metal, or will the cage itself just do?
  2. Oh well, too late as I'd already order the relay thingy off Fleabay. Thanks for the tip Mac, I do indeed need the newer ICT29-020 instead of the 007. Only trouble is Sextons don't seem to list it, so I'm trying to track one down!
  3. Nice one, thanks! I've dropped them a line and just in case anyone goes down the same road in the future, I'll update this thread.
  4. After ballsing up my Bose when fitting my Satnav (Bose no skips constantly), I'm going to replace the HU with a nice pioneer jobby. I've ordered the ICT loom, steering control cable and also a flashy DVD bypass relay from the US so that the DVD will play on the move. I guess that all I need to do is follow this for the cabling for the loom? http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=19787&start=30 As the new HU has a 4v preout compared to the 2v for the AVIC, I presume I shouldn't have any volume issues? Is there anything I've missed or need to take care of?
  5. Thanks for the replies. I've got a ripper now, just stuck for a compatible output setting.
  6. Great, what output settings did you use?
  7. I've downloaded Imtoo DVD ripper as I have the DVD to Ipod version and it gives great results. One question though, there are loads of different avi settings. What resolution is the screen - 640x480?
  8. Can anyone recommend a good bit of software to convert MP4 ipod videos to AVI, or even better rip from DVD to AVI directly? Cheers
  9. haha...ok here goes, but bear in mind that you get f**k all for your money in Jersey....here's a taster though. Has Parking for 8 cars on the drive, so maybe we could have a meet
  10. Nah, just 30 years of hard labour to look forward too to pay it off
  11. Just bought a house! Sobering to think I could have bought a Lambo, Fezza F430 and a DB9 and still had change for insurance and servicing
  12. Wheels look ....and those tyres look very sticky - what are they (Edit: R888s - must learn to read posts properly )
  13. Looks like some type of in-line filter?
  14. I quite fancy the look of the Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD myself.
  15. Too right....did you have a look at my underwater section Chris? A you say bl**dy expensive!
  16. ISO, aperture, shutter speed etc makes no difference, other than the usual exposure / effects (such as blurry water, etc). The best tip I can give you, is not to go too mad with the spread of your exposures. +1 / -1 will still give you plenty more dynamic range and will be easier to tone map without it looking hideously un-natural. If your not 100% sure of the correct exposure, then shoot a spread of -3 to +3 stops either side of the metered exposure at 1/2 stop gaps, then once you've got home, pick the best exposure as your middle one and then +1 and -1 either side of it. That'll effectively give you + or - 2 stops of safety margin from metered. You can also slip the 1/2 stop images in there as well for good measure and merge the 5 images (-1, -1/2, 0 (0 being correctly metered /exposed) +1/2, +1). Also set your camera onto motordrive (i.e. not one shot) and use the exposure bracketing function and the self timer. You should find that the camera will take the whole series of shots without the need to press the shutter release for each individual shot. Much better than taking each individual shot then adjusting the camera, potentially moving it slightly which will soften the final image.
  17. I always use Photomatix mate. Works a treat but I paid for the full version, but worth the money.
  18. So did mine.....at least that gets me out of giving her a kid for the time being - no room for a baby seat in the Z
  19. Take the satnav out and give it to Nurrish to convert
  20. Pixie, moshel, catto, stinky....whatever we call her at the time! 14 year old (no teeth whatsoever - too many sweets). Had her five years from the animal shelter. Eats - mashed fish only at the moment - dicky tummy Likes - Rubs Dislikes - going to the vet, hoovers
  21. I'd be intrerested to see how much it costs. Im in love with this colour at the moment......reckon a Z would look superb in it
  22. They basically remove contaminants from paintwork - nasty stuff that generally wont come off with normal cleaning. The clay bars are basically a bit like blue-tac in texture. You need a lubricant, which comes in the kit. You spray the paintwork a small area at a time and rub the claybar over it. It removes an amazing amount of dirt usually and leaves a perfect surface for a few coats of decent wax. It's not something you'd want to do every month, yearly is more than adequate.
