  1. MartinMac is organising a mini meet in and around the lake district area on 5th June, not too far for some of us to have a nice ride down/across if anyone fancies it...? There's already a few from the North East heading down, see linky below

  2. I have had the eyelids on mine for 7months..no cracks :scare: ..seems fine to me ;)

Here's a recent thread about it but there are others if you search on there:

Seems a bit hit and miss and some people don't find the cracks until the eyelids are removed. Obviously the usual my350z pinch of salt applies too! ;) Personally I wouldn't risk it though, especially if I had the 06+ headlights as they are £700+ second hand and the lenses aren't available separately.

EDIT: There is some mention of "overlays" in that thread too, not sure if that is the same as the tinting film though.

Good find Matt, can't for the life of me fathom how tinting the lenses slightly or fitting eyelids can cause the lenses to crack though........ someone please explain the science bit to me :bounce:

  3. Thanks for the heads up Martin

I'm on-board...... also posted in the N.East area to make them aware of this thread and try to drum up some more interest ;)

  4. Is that safe? There's quite a few people on my350Z that have had issues with their lenses cracking due to eyelids being fitted. Could these not cause a similar problem? Might be worth doing a bit of research on the US forums to be on the safe side (unless you've already looked into it).

Haven't looked into it at all bud, it's just a film that covers the lights, kinda like a very light window tint...... why would this cause my lenses to crack......?

  5. Blade Blade Blade,

if you go with black, you need to get the strip of black from bumper continued up onto the bonnet!

as you know i'll be honest about your car to you!

Agreed dude, paint the bonnet black and you run the risk of looking like a taxi IMO
