I've not had chance to even look at the zed for month ! Still moving stuff from the old house to new. What was my nice new double garage for the zed is full and the zeds not even in there ! Haha. I'm gonna dedicate the evenings this week to it though as now it's filthy after just sitting there since Japfest.

I can't say I ever noticed mine mellow, though i did have Berks hfc's fitted from day one. If anything it got louder !

I'd noticed the exhaust too, it's quite common for the cheaper after market exhausts to be a bit wonky. That's exactly how my old japspeed was.

When I bought my zed it also had a nismo induction kit I'm guessing the same thing had happened to mine and the previous owner just put the filter on the end of the bend, it's been like that now for eight years and I've found it to be ok. I replaced the filter about four years ago as mine was looking similar to yours, with a new nismo one from the USA though all it is, is a AEM one branded as nismo. So I'd be getting one of those if I was you as the nismo one wasn't cheap by the time I'd paid the import tax.

Tarmac supplied some aftermarket ones for Andy James's rebuild. Personally I'd stay stock, the only thing I'd do is fit the 370z side badges/ repeaters.

You could use any y pipe but I'm sure you'd need a milltek mid section. You could always get one made.

I wouldn't be doing anything with the paint just yet other than a carefull wash maybe, until the paint has fully cured for at least a month before you start polishing and sealing.

No not usually from the y pipe back , though some of the cheaper back boxes will fit onto the oem mid section. Y pipes and cats/de cats are interchangeable though.
