ok not so much as a mod but it feels like it...
Over the last couple of months the ginger ninja has been feeling a little off ...
well after having a look round the car and giving it service a couple of weeks back we found that the clutch pedal was some what low.....time for a clutch...
i d always said that after five years of ownership one day i would need to replace it. well the time has come and not at a good point with japfest and Wales looming.
was going the replace it with a new lighten flywheel and comp clutch but due to lack funds i pick up a o/e kit and fairly new matched flywheel for 100 pound.
Next up we drove it into the zed shed on friday night and a couple of hours later Keyser and myself had it stripped and the old unit on the floor.I am sure Keyser will be along with pics later but it looked as if the clutch has done its work
On inspection we found the clutch plate was parting company with itself and the housing was pretty burnt...too much hard work on track for the last 5 japfests
we left it there and resumed fitting it late this morning.....on checking out where we d left off it was decided that a new spigot bearing should be fitted....enter Westover nissan
what a waste of time their parts dept is......after waiting for a call back after several calls to then i finally recieved a voice mail telling me that they would need to order it for tuesday.
off to the spare engine pile.....bingo we found one in good nick....a damn sight better than my oval one....so after removing with a amount of grease, driver and a hammer we were set.
got it back together with no probs and the car feels like a new beast.......big thanks to Keyser for helping me out last night and today.....just how mates should be.
