had the same problem with an aftermarket set of wheels...in my case the it was the stud that was to long so we grind them back a couple of mm until they sat just inside the space.
shouldnt be a problem as long as your leaving the spacers on.
only other way to do it(this is how i currently do it) is to remove the spacer studs and the hud studs and replace the hud studs for 20mm longer ones then use the spacer as a slip on.
