'shift lock' button - what thje in JDM imports Posted March 13, 2009 Right. So ... I'm a technical and mechanical thicko who's never owned an automatic before. So - what in the world does the 'shift lock' button do? I don't mean the big knob on the side of the shift-lever, but the tiny little, flush to the console button called 'shift lock'. I assume it has something to do with stopping the auto' box moving gear but am nervous about a first experiment with it on the road. Help the numpty? Thanks
