Just yesterday I realised I had a 60GB iPod sitting in my laptop bag full of songs. But I had also burned two albums from the iTunes this ipod is linked to before I realised I still had the ipod. I put the burnt CD's in the Car and recorded them to the music box, and I also attached the iPod using an Apple cable. And I must say I was extremely disappointed with the sound quality when I put the tunes banging on the stereo. Yet the same tracks burnt to CD and then imported into Music Box are superb with no distortion....what gives? Did the old iPod use a crap bitrate when copying tracks? Although I have not checked what my equalizer settings are on the iPod yet if that will make a difference? I thought the equalizer was just for the headphone output though.

Yes that's the one I bought. Saved a fortune over brand new with around 900 miles on the clock and fully spec'd.

New exhaust for the big cat (Longlife Exhaust)
maxi-glasgow replied to rtbiscuit's topic in Other Cars
It was the one thing which disappointed me with the XKR, the exhaust. It was too quiet. I had looked into getting the middle silencer removed and putting an H pipe in as a lot of the guys in the States do that to get the next level of noise of the Zorst. Some even remove the rear silencers but I only wanted to be able to hear the V8, not get my ears blown off. Ended up not getting round to it, but it was a guy from Germany who flew over with his son to buy it and they had already booked themselves into Arden to get the exhaust changed as I had told him it was disappointing the noise it made.... -
Completely agree, the 370 cabin is a much much nicer place to be and I think it feels more planted on the road, don't know if it is or not but it feels like it is better handling than the 350. On the colour, I find it incredible how different this colour looks when you photograph it, either outside or inside and in the flesh. The colour really pings in the flesh and totally different to any photo's you see. I'm really pleased I got the same colour as my last few cars have been black, and I think this turns more heads BECAUSE of the bright colour than a black car does.

Agreed, just managed to renew my multicar policy with admiral, 370z, and 2 fiesta zetecs just under £800, gone up £100. WHAT??? My 370z and an 03 plate Clio with both me and my Fiance having over 9 years no claims discounts my multicar renewal was around 1,100. And that is them being both kept in an underground secure car park.

Yes I was using my iPhone all the time but it's a faff to have to go to your iphone if you want to change out of a playlist etc with the only control you have from the steering wheel controls is to move forward or back a track. It would have been good if you could also record MP3's from a memory stick into the Music Box rather than only audio CD tracks.

Yes, but having the standard exhaust there is very little to listen to so I am force to listen to tunes Oh how I miss even the medium roar of the K2 exhaust I had on the 350.....

I put my first new albums into the 370z last night and it wasn't able to assign the proper track names and album etc when I was recording onto the Music Box. So I done some searching about how you update the database, which must be possible as there is an option in there to update the Gracenote database via USB. But only thing I can find is where you attach a USB device and it copies over all missing tracks, you plug this into your laptop and it marries them up using the online database, you then plug the USB back into the car and it overwrites the missing tracks. This is far from ideal as it means everytime you put a relatively new CD into the system you need to carry this out, whereas one update and you should be good until the next new releases come out...

I got the original iPad before it launched here and only bought the wifi version and loved it, as I tended to use it primarily for lifting in the house and browsing the web without having to wait on a laptop booting up etc it was brilliant. So when the iPad2 came out I had to go get one but this time I bought a 3G one on a contract with Orange which had the side effect of me paying less for the device and the big difference is that now I can throw the iPad2 in the car when I get anywhere and use it whenever I want and not tied to only using wifi so I would recommend getting a 3G one completely. Unless you only ever intend using it in the house and then what is the point. The one major gripe I have with each iPad is that when typing, whether it be putting a post like this on the internet or typing an email I cannot type very fast or it misses letters even though you see it giving a response as you hit the various letters. That is so infuriating when you have typed a bug post only to look back and see loads of missing characters etc.... When I got the original iPad I bought the Apple dock and keyboard which is excellent, love the feel of the keyboard. I have this sitting on my desk at work but the irony is I very rarely take my iPad into work

Both the case that I found in the car and the new one they ordered me in had Nissan embossed on the front, neither had a Z on the front. And neither had the Sat Nav manual in there but there is plenty space for another manual as only the user manual and warranty book in there along with couple of leaflets.
-
That's what I thought as I was reading the downloaded manual which was obviously the US version but the fact I was in the dealers and they had their head 370 technician come out and go thru various tests tell me that it should work. Don't know if this is something which has changed in newer models or not, but if it was a US only option I would expect their mechanic to know it doesn't work on our models.

Read in the manual that if you have left any window open you just press lock, then press and hold lock for 3 seconds and it closes all windows automatically. You can do the opposite if you unlock and hold unlock for 3 seconds it will open the windows. But mines won't work, was at the dealers today and one of their technicians came out and couldn't get it to work either. So they said they will need to get it booked in to check it out. But just wondering if any other 370 owners have tried to use this function and if it works?

Just out of curiosity does the leather case have an Z logo on it or is it a generic Nissan case with Nissan embossed on it? Just says Nissan. Then I happened to look in cubby behind drivers seat and found the original case with manual. But there is no manual for navigation system in either case, did everyone else get one?
-
Picked up new owners manual in its leather case and also brand new 370Z mats. What a difference the mats make when you open the door, lovely.

In the manual it says via memory stick you can play AVI and ASF but I have tried converting a few different methods and all it ever says is Invalid Video or something like that anyway. Has anyone managed to convert videos to play via USB and if so what software did you use and could you use standard settings to do the conversion.
-
Checked every cubby hole, someone has taken it out in case someone blaggs it and forgot where they put it. New one will be in tomorrow.

Looks very nice, downside I suppose is that it's not a GT. But on the upside it's got good mileage for that age. I would have said you could get similar age GT for same price but mileage might make the price about right.

Just to answer my own question:- http://www.nissanextendedwarranty.com/owners-manual/nissan/2011-Nissan-370Z.pdf

Is there anywhere I can view this online. When I picked up the car they couldn't find where the manual had been put, so ordered one in for me which will come in this week, but you tend to get all these things online in PDF format so wondered if anyone has a shortcut to one?

I thought you were talking about the GT pack, confusing when they use the same characters for the different version...
-
erm .... correct me if I'm wrong but at the moment the only version with a reversing camera is the GT edition (and they don't come in blue either) yours will be the GT with Premium Pack ? Yes it's a GT. I have not got used to using the reverse camera yet as it makes everything look quite far away when your in fact getting close, will take time to use it properly.

When I went it to look at them he was taking me outside and asked if there were any colours I didn't like and as I was walking out I said Blue!!! Only to see the two demonstrators they had were Blue and Grey but the Grey was an automatic and I wanted back into a manual. But looking at it again, I'm not sure if they have changed the blue colour from the first 370's because I always felt they looked like a cheap blue but now it's a more metallic blue like the 350 was and I am loving it. Makes the car look so bright and makes it really stand out in a crowd and everyones heads were turning when I was out driving. I know Jamie, I would have jumped at the chance if this didn't come off.

After asking loads of questions and swithering between getting another 350Z after selling the Jaguar XKR or not I decided to buy this car:- Typical that it would be pouring of rain and will get more, and better pics up when I can. Absolutely delighted so far with the purchase. It was a demonstrator so had 900 miles on the clock, and because it was a demonstrator I think it has the very top spec with Premium Connect etc with reverse camera etc Really impressed and completely different to the 350 on first impressions, cabin is a much nicer looking place to be and the equipment level is now at a level it should have been from the start of the 350's life. I'm off to do some more

I traded in my 54 plate Kuro last June with 92k miles on it and got £6,250. And I thought I was being robbed!!! -
Thannks Vik, don't think I have been at a same meeting as only Roadster I can remember is the blue one whom I can't remember his name, but he had organised the trip, was my very first meet and we drove up to the Ski place. I have already contacted him and I am just waiting on word back about something else in the pipeline before I see if I can move ahead. His does look especially mint though.
