Absolutely fantastic pics there, makes me feel more gutted about not being able to make it... The Spam pics had me in stitches. First time I have seen the purple shade on a Z. The Red is defo the brightest Zed in some of those photos, it actually hurts your eyes in one of the photo's it's that bright

Anyone know anything about Tokyo 350z scene?
maxi-glasgow replied to maxi-glasgow's topic in 350Z General
Well my flights are booked, going out on the 20th September and coming back on 29th. Just found out a massive bonus, the Tokyo Game Show is on the weekend I am there so that's my Saturday or Sunday mapped out Was reading another post by a user who put up a link to hiring a GTR while there, got excited and looked up the website, at over £300 for the day hire I don't think I will bother, but then on the other hand it might be the one time I drive a GTR -
I was talking the other week to a mate who owns a couple of car wash outlets and I was asking him how the guys do their washing and he said with sponges etc the way you say millions of these hand car wash places do it. I asked him if he does detailing as well and he started talking about valeting rather than detailing. I mentioned that I got my car done with a full detail as it was terrible with swirl marks etc and he said the only reason my car would have swirls marks is if it was machine polished at some stage as his guys can't put swirls marks on cars as they only wash in straight lines with a sponge and not in circles. This kind of makes sense but goes against everything I have been learning since getting the Z and paying more attention to the right and wrong ways to wash and dry the car etc. So to set my mind at ease, is he talking pants? How do the defects show up as circly swirls (new term) if the guys do long sweeping strokes with the sponge?

So have I got this right, I buy a new car and part of the cost of buying a new car is registration so I own the number plate that car comes with, is this right? Ok, so I buy another number plate off either a private dealer or the DVLA themselves and pay and extra £80 to have this transferred to my car. If I didn't pay the extra £28 the DVLA could then resell my original registration plate? How can they sell what doesn't belong to them? With a new car I was under the impression you can pay extra to get the letters you wanted. So I could pay extra when I buy a new car and have ??59 MAX. But then I decide a year or two down the road that MAX 1 comes up for sale at a bargain price, I buy it and pay £80 to transfer and unless I pay extra the DVLA can go ahead and sell my xx59 MAX plate??? Or have I picked this up wrong? This sounds like I drive my car down to the local showroom, buy a new car and leave my car sitting in the car park until I arrange for it to be uplifted and the garage can go ahead and sell it because I never paid a parking fee

Order them from CS, I got my redstuff pads from him and got them very next day delivered to my door.

The original registration plate which was on the RX from new will more than likely be parked with the DVLA, so that would be reissued if you move the plate to another car. Just that you will be paying two transfers, a transfer fee from the RX so that it gets issued with another plate, and a transfer fee for your Z to take the new plate and they will then park the number you currently have on the Z. Just not sure if these keep these original plates to one side pending a re-transfer or if they can then sell them. But I wouldn't imagine they can sell them, as you still own that number... I got my girlfriend a plate as a present which started L33 as her name is Lee and I am almost certain they parked the SD03 number plate which her Clio already had.

Ginto’s Skyline build. bodywork now complete.
maxi-glasgow replied to MrMartinGrant's topic in Other Cars
You certainly won't see another like it out on the road. It's funny but you can get away with these decals etc on a Skyline but if you tried that on a Z it would look silly. Or would it???? I think this looks superb though -

I always renew my tax disc online when I receive the Sorn but it runs out today and I had never received the sorn, a few days ago I went online anyway, punched in my registration number and my document reference from my V5 and it wanted to renew from 1st August 2009.... I wasn't paying and losing a month so there is another link to check your tax and it says it's not due to 1/3/2010.....but my tax disc says August 2009... I called up yesterday but the offices are closed until tomorrow and I think I know what has happened, I bought the car in March from Northern Ireland, and I went to the DVLA office to re-register the car since it's came from NI. The guy has given me a new tax disc for the remainder of the tax outstanding (August) but it was a 12 month tax disc so I think he must have typed in March and 12 months and the system thinks I have 12 months instead of just the remainder of tax which was outstanding... So I will try my arm tomorrow, call up and say I never noticed the guy gave me the wrong disc and only noticed now because someone mentioned my tax was up..... What's my chances????

Reading the courtesy link they say they don't fit the anniversary model, does this mean they won't fit GT4 wheels? I'd really like a set for my black wheels as it would be a good contrast, especially in chrome. -
Forza motorsport 3 xbox 360 350 & 370 z included
maxi-glasgow replied to fookin's topic in 350Z General
I had only ever played the demo of Forza2, and just by chance when I ran the demo I took the 350z, long before I ever though of getting one. I just picked up Forza2 at the weekend as HMV were giving 2 for £30 so I bought that and In the movies which came with the camera for my little girl to have fun with. Still not had a chance to every take it out the packaging yet but would join in any online races anyone wishes to start up. Oh my gamertag is maxi1969 -
If I go to Asda etc I either park very far away where no other cars are near me, or there is usually one row of spaces where the cars park end to end so no risk of doors hitting you.... Only need to worry about a rogue trolley then..

Well I hope you never look at my car, with those eyes

Spotted the first Kuro R88 or R888 in Blackburn, West Lothian and then seen the Kuro Roadster with Reg XXI at the start parked up on road from Blackburn to West Calder. If the R88? driver is from on here, any chance of waving back

I always get consoles when they are released, I remember the bother I had to go to so I could get a 360 on release night. Then only decided to get a PS3 on the day it was going to be released that midnight so thought I would have no chance, went into Glasgow and stood outside Gamestation and got one no problem. Got a Wii which just sits gathering dust, got a PSP, a DS, got the missus a DSi. I moved the PS3 into the bedroom so we could watch bluray movies and watch tv catchup in bed. My original launch day 360 got the three red lights about 3 months ago, was waiting for this so I could buy and elite as the original 20GB drive was doing my box in, and also getting the HDMI connection is a godsend. It's also a million times quieter than the launch 360. I prefer the 360 to the PS3, downloading is miles faster, installing items is miles faster and games tend to be better when they are available on both formats. Suppose that might change in time as they only now seem to be getting to grips with the PS3.

I was driving home last night on the M8 as it approaches the city centre, sitting in the middle lane I was probably sitting about 60-65 and it's a 50 zone. A black new astra went by me so he must have been doing easily 75-80 and 2 seconds later a traffic cop in a marked car went by right behind him. At first I slowed down then thought he was going after this guy and the guy won't have a clue it's the cops behind him, so I pulled out and kept them in site, albeit from about 100 yards behind. They actually sped up to closer to 80, and then I seen the Astra move in after about 1 mile, and I couldn't believe the cops drove past him. I came off at the Asda in Govan and there was the cop car, sitting at the lights. Obviously just finishing their shift and in a hurry to clock off...... Bloody typical that if that was me in the outside lane they would have pulled me....

Looks absolutely superb Jay

Yes, they are GT4 alloys, got them off a site user, GT4ZED. Who had them powdercoated black. Always keep an eye on the site as you can pick up great deals every now and again when other users change pieces of their kit.

Found these, but it looks like a Nissan site so surely UK Nissan sell them as well? http://www.courtesyparts.com/logo-center-caps-for-2003-2005-350z-track-model-p-19545.html

Are these the same size as the caps on the GT4 wheels? Would love to get the Z inserts for mines too.

I had a tape thing for my ipod and it was a million times better quality than an FM Transmitter. I think it must be down the tape device, yours must be a cheap one. Here is a guide though:- http://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/93941-make-a-line-aux-in-for-your-2003-bose-headunit-step-by-step-guide.html
