Very Clever stuff!

Errr 20's more for show, and 19's more for go, is my general opinion. Its all down to personal taste, I have 20's on mine, and love the look and that they fill the arches, its also lowered on Eibach pro spring kit 30mm, and correct offsets/spacering (et20) Looks great at a show, meet etc, and with the correct tyres, they perform fine for what I need. 19's are smaller, therefore a bit lighter, and better performance, and also look good, so you get a mixture of both. And 18's is what the 350 was fitted as standard, and therefore prob lighter and better performing Although you can get lightweight 19's etc, so all depends on your personal taste mate And make sure you get good tyres for them Warning:- Decent 20" tyres can cost £650+ So consider cost of tyres into your decision

Just a handy tip here....... I had mine regassed to 700N! V2 spoiler on rear, refitted the the gas struts and uh oh, boot distorted! After a few months of them on, cos although it was ruining the lines of my z, it was still functioning very well, and lifting my boot no problem, I did decide I would have to send them back to have them degassed.... Only to be told, they cant De-Gas...... Spoke to a Guy at the Engineering company, and he suggested i swap them over. left to right and right to left....you get the idea. I had already taken them off though..... So I noticed the struts had a L and R on them, so I fitted the L to the Passenger side, and R to the Drivers side, hoping this was an easy fix, and I simply didnt do it the first time...... wrong! I shut the boot and the warp continued.... (When taken the struts off, the boot was perfectly alligned again) So I swapped the struts over.... And quickly realised because of how the ball joints sit in the sockets, they cant be fitted the other way round..... So now Im really baffled...... Then I thought to myself, what if I change the brackets that sit on the body the other way round??? I originally had them following the line of the boot edge, as I thought thats the way they go... then realised when you flip them over, it goves you maybe an extra 10mm in the strut... So I flipped them over, and to my joy, it was fixed! So now I have perfect lines restored to my Z and a functioning boot! So pleased! Thought I would post this, just in case someone else does it, as by the time you send off your struts and get them back again, its easy to forget which way the bracket went....

Yes I have been to the last one, as a member of MissBanzai.... Basically, you goto the justgiving site, and donate your £5 to make sure you get a map of the course... We meet up at Essex Arena, (by thurrock M25 Services) at around 9pm, we dont meet too early, to try and minimise the traffic... Last time we had a run we had 444 cars hooning round London, I think everyone got lost, but its all part of the fun. So we leave essex arena, around 11ish, so the traffic in London is at a minimum, and you follow your maps, or latch onto the convoy closest to you, hoping they know where they are going......ha ha You end up at the finishing point about 3am..... There are 3 stopping points for photos, rest etc Its just great fun, driving round London with fellow Jap car owners, getting lots of stares, and all for charity, so you have a good excuse... Its ideal to have a co-pilot, walkie talkie, and a london a-z, but not crucial, if you get lost, chances are you can find someone else lost too, and tag a long with them Dan

Aww poor Amy, Dont worry, no ones blaming you here, we all feel sorry, that such a lame thing has happened to you, just glad you got rid of it and have moved on. And your only Hemel, not too far from me, are you on any other forums?

Thing is, people dont just buy a second car because of petrol prices.... For a lot of us, our car is more of a hobby than a need.... By having a second car, your reducing the wear and tear on your beloved "Z", your not subjecting it to nasty potholes and speedhumps, car park dings, and the dirt and grime of the roads.... Its like having a fave jumper, you dont wear it every day in case you ruin it, you usually save it for more special occasions.... Hence we are all looking forward to the Summer!

I started with a DODO purple haze panel pot, its about £12, and will wax your car about 5-6 times, so if you like the results you can invest in the bigger pot around £30-£40. I apply this wax by fingers (only dodo), just massage it into your paintwork until it wont spread no more, thats usually my method...

Well spotted Mr Magnet....
-
Very true, dunno what his reseve would be, I'd say it would be higher than the 5.5k he paid for it....
-
I just feel sorry for the next person who buys it, it looks like its gonna change hands a lot......... And we will probably get many prospective buyers asking us for advice on it.......
-
That is truly mental.....

I thought according to Amy, because of what they done to the steering wheel, it rendered the airbag useless, and the horn didnt work? MOT failure? He also said the kit fitted "spot on" yet I can see the gaps on the bonnet and boot from here!
-
Hmmmm im very intrigued by this motor, so I asked the seller a question "Dear *****, Hello there, was wondering if there are any faults with the car? Looks like a nice kit, does it fit nicely? How long you owned the car? Many previous owners? What are your reasons for sale? Thank you Dan" To which he replied, "Dear Dan, hi, there are no faults with the car its just had 2 new lambda sensors and an abs sensor, all it needed for the mot was 2 tyres but i put a new set of alloys and tyres on, the kit fits spot on and its had 2 previous owners, im only selling due to work commitments so cant afford to keep it ..... *****" Looks like in the space of a month, hes fitted a new set of wheels on it, new exhaust (cheap) had it MOT'd and passed, and now decides he cant afford it....... And all it needed was 3 sensors..... I dunno what all the fuss was about?!?!
-
Looks like it did sell, has gone from Essex to Derby.....
-
Just to add to the thread...... It sold for £5,500 (supposedly) on the 5th Feb 2011 and look what I just found..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/custom-modified-n ... 19c39a1a0b Less than a month later....... Notice no faults listed at all.... and if its as good as he say it is, why isnt he keeping it?? lol
