Electric problem with washers front and rear
daveg7362 replied to daveg7362's topic in 350Z Technical
Thanks for your comment, I have done this as my 12v tester has a bulb. one end goes on earth the other end goes into connection if there is power the light comes on, I would have thought it would only have live feed to one side then when i press washers the other side comes live? Dave -
Hi guys my front and rear windscreen washers stopped working a few weeks ago, I have read the forum for possible fixes, I have checked the 4th fuse down behind the battery that's fine, so I've took off the wheel to get access to the washer motors, this is what i found. With pumps connected i have live feed to both sides of the motor, When i activate the washers one of the feeds goes off? this happens both front and rear if i disconnect the plug i only have one live feed as when fitted I had 2, ???? I have got both pumps off and wired them up to 12v nothing happens. Is it just that the pumps need replacing open circuit? thanks for looking Dave

Hi I'm waiting for the new Alpine iXA-W404 to come out in may. I have the Alpine IDA-001 that was fitted in my Golf but I just think a double din unit would look better than a single unit, I know you can choose blue or red display how does that look like with the amber lights on the dash? You say you have kept standard speakers and amp how does it sound does the Alpine head drive the sub volume. did you get the harness to use steering wheel functions. Sorry for all the questions but I've been thinking of doing this change for ages. Any tips Thanks Dave -
New emblems arrived look fantastic, I'm off to Ireland this weekend to watch the 4 nations, so I will have to wait till next week to fit them, I will post some pictures when i've fitted them

I had the alpine in a golf with a vibe amp and sub, I was very pleased with the quality. How about the colour have you got it on the red or blue? Our Z's having orange lights how does it look. has the standard Bose sub got an amp?
-
just to update: I've just orderd these. I thought it would be good not to change the Z styling too much. see what they look like when they arrive?

Hi Guys I know there are some electronics experts out there. So could you please help me with my dilemma? I have an Alpine IDA X001 IPod compatible, led’s back lights are blue or red Not orange!!!! I have tried to get some info from Alpine tech heads about changing the Led’s I’ve been it can be done but had no info on how. I work for Jaguar Engineering and have access to our instrumentation dept, the guys in there have told me if I can get a diagram and the led’s they will do it for me!!!!? But the thing I would like to do I think, is keep the standard Bose unit and some how add the iPod. I know I can use a crap FM receiver. I’ve looked on the web and had no joy. Have you any ideas or would you guys just upgrade to the Alpine. Also have you guys upgraded your Sub and speakers? Could I just replace the sub or do I need to fit an amp? Dose the standard sub use an Amp and if yes is it good enough to run a better Sub? Thanks Dave

I guys Looking over my Z, There is little round mark on the front cubby box cover. need to get it changed, right in my eye line. any one got any ideas where to get a standard one from, and how difficult are they to change.

Just to keep you guys who bothered reading my post up to speed. Took my Z to Westons performance center they have a code reader. The fault was accelerator pedal sensor which was the fault. So my engines not going to blow up thank goodness. still better to be safe then sorry.

I think i may have confused you guys . The badge i like the look of that I class as a big Z would leave holes in the rear, and i believe i would have to remove the locating lugs at the front. The only problem I haven't seen this on a vehicle so it might look naff? That's why I asked all you out there for your preferences to help.

Could some one please tell me, what the hell is Black Pearl. I would think its a dullish chrome???? I belive the normal Nisan badges are just normal chrome is that right.

I'm starting to make a few changes to my Z. what I don't want to do is change it to much. so then it looks naff, if you know where I'm coming from. so let start with changing the badges first. My car is Blade Silver so i don't want something to bling. The problem I have its very hard to choose the right one by just looking at the badge without being fitted to a car. I did make a bid on E-Bay for a set then thought otherwise. if any one has any New badges they are thinking of selling I would be interested. I do like the big Z but I'm worried of knackering my paint work cutting off the locating lugs at the front, then also filling the rear holes any body done this. Any pictures would be good. Cheers Dave
