+1 Just slacken off the two outer bolts, and re-align and re-tighten. Over tightening can cause this mis-alignment.
Not slacking off at all. We've spent over a week lining everything up just the front end and with out having to replace the wings and brackets also jigging the front end of the car this is the closest you can get.
The front bumper is fibreglass so you cant bend it without risking it cracking or webbing.
Better to have the drivers side wing line up perfectly and passengers side in by 1.5mm than have drivers side off by 6mm and have uneven gaping gaps around both head lamps don't you think?
The wing was bent back into shape and repaired before it came to us and the mounting brackets where warped. We straightened them out and spaced out the excess with washers where needed and same goes to the head lamps in order to achieve an all round even line up between the lamps, bumper and wings.
Trust me when I say we're not amateurs at this.
We've discovered many repaired bits, broken or missing fixings and brackets which we've addressed. Not something many body shops will do.
Steve have you got any before pictures for people to really appreciate what we've done?
WOW Who called you an amateur? And i do appreciate the quality of the work you have done, check my earlier post I was talking from experience when i had my original front bumper taken off and re-fitted, i slackened the two bolts off and it lined up much better.......thats all! So no need to get earlier pics up from before i appreciate the good work you have done.
Next time i will keep my big mouth shut
Yes Colin, but will stay quiet next time, after all its only a forum!
