Cars deliberately taking other cars off has happened before, Prost/Senna, Schumacher/Hill and Schumacher/Villeneuve spring to mind. In The Spanish GP of 1997, Schumacher drove into the side of Villeneuve and was consequently disqualified from the 1997 season although he was allowed to keep his wins/poles and fastest laps. And another Honda engine replaced today! 6 engines! Over in the McLaren-Honda pit, it’s looking very much like Groundhog Day. Stoffel Vandoorne has done 34 laps this morning but the Belgian had not been out for a while before the lunch break. Now we know why. Honda is changing the engine after a problem was discovered this morning. That’s at least six engines the Japanese company has got through in testing so far - and that’s just the number you get to when you count up the changes they will admit to; it might even be one more than that. It is really not looking good for that team this season.
