  1. We live in the sticks, do the horses, shooting, country stuff, run a football team, have 3 kids, dog, etc, so our other car is a 7 seater Pathfinder, which is perfect for our family needs. Mrs HH uses it mostly. It's our second one, and is an Aventura diesel auto, with all the bells and whistles you coud dream of, and is on a 07 plate, with 12k miles. I paid nearly £30K for it 20 months ago (which in itself was £4k off list). Whilst procuring my new 350, the same dealer mentioned to me that he had some stunning deals on new Pathfinders - I said I was interested and asked him to value ours, look at our settlement fee (it's on a PCP) and come back to me. Long story short, they offered £11K 'at a push' for the Pathfinder - in other words it's lost £19k or 60%+ of it's value in 20 months. That's a fair few grand below the settlement fee. Looks like we won't be changing it then....
  2. Well, it's here now, and I'm surprised just how different the car feels. The interior feels higher quality?!?! The steering wheel feels thicker and the leather is much more matt rather than half shiney and feels far better to the touch. It handles more 'tightly' and although I have not extended it yet, it does feel more lively. And rather bizarrely I had an oldish man ask me earlier 'is that the new Ferrari fella?' when I was parked up waiting for a mate at Bishops Stortford station. This never happened in 2.5 years of Roadster ownership. All in all, I'm as happy as a pig in muck.
  3. Since I'm a stranger here, and don't know who does what, could you let me have a link to your site? Both sound interetsting - what would the the Pipercross do for me? Cheers
  4. Dohhhhh.... This should have been in the 'Modifications' section - long day Mods, could you move please? Sorry!
  5. Apologies for hogging 'General' tonight.... Per my other post, my 06 Roadster had no mods to speak of, but my new 313GT Coupe arrived today and I'm thinking I might like to (very) subtely modify it. Your help with advice/counsel would therefore be very much appreciated! I don't want any visual mods externally, but was thinking of Z roundels to replace the Nissan badges. How easy is it to replace them yourself? Internally, what's recommended to 'jazz up' (I stress the word 'subtely!) the interior? Any engine mods which don't impinge on warranty but would improve performance/noise (not that either is really lacking!)? Once again, thanks in advance
  6. and that's the answer I was hoping for - much appreciated!
  7. So my 06 Roadster has gone and my new 313 GT Coupe arrived today and is sitting on my drive (apologies as I'm not sure if this should be in the Technical bit?). The new car's pretty much the same as my old one inside except I'm struggling with the Bluetooth. I'd assumed stupidly it would be the same as the system in MRs HH's Pathfinder, but no! In the Pathfinder you just switch your phone on, and then tell the Sat Nav system to look for a phone, and connection ensues. With the Z I have a phone cradle in the centre console box, which the owners manual tells me I have to populate with a bluetooth adaptor before my phone can connect. Since the salesman told me my car was bluetooth prepared, should I have been given the adaptor, or do I have to buy this seperately? My phone (HTC PDA/phone) won't fit into the cradle so I really do need bluetooth - I need to use the phone for client calls when driving.... Hence I really could do with your advice. I'll of course be calling the dealer first thing tomorrow, but it is very likely you lot can offer more valuable counsel.... Help! Thanks in advance
  8. So it came today and it's sitting on my drive. Bloody lovely! Pictures to follow when I can clean it (roads covered in kak round here) - although it's just a boggo 313 GT Coupe in Silver so nothing special. Now, how to (very) subtely modify?
  9. Well, it's Glyn Hopkins, so anything could happen. They tell me Monday, more likely to be a month on Wednesday. Not the most believeable (if any are) of dealers...
  10. Thanks for the messages guys, much appreciated. New car comes Monday.....
  11. I just bought a GT Coupe for just south of £21K, with Sat Nav, metallic, a few dealer fit accessories, full tank, mats, etc.... I didn't have to try too hard to get that price, it was last Sunday, and the other cars in the network (probs being priced in the £20~22K region depending on spec) were finding homes very quickly. My local dealer has a a GT Coupe in the showroom (metallic grey) - standard spec but has no sat nav, and it's stickered at £19,750. You would get that for £19K I guess? He also told me the 370Z is delayed until July-ish, which may go tp explaining things.. my intention on going in was to order a new 370Z but the deal offered on a new 350 was waaaay too good to turn down. Lots of car for the cash!
  12. Damn fine attempt - Maki rolls look almost professional! Love sushi - sashimi even more. Lived in Tokyo for 3 years (working for Nissan in Ginza/Atsugi) and got a taste (as you do) for it. Now work in Soho, so tend to have sushi carry-out for lunch most days. Mrs H H is a chef by trade, and qualified as a sushi chef (including a certification as a Fugu chef - very rare for 'gaijin') when we lived there, and she's taught me. Getting good fresh fish in Easty Herts is a bugger though....
  13. Hello chaps... New here (hello)... I've just chopped an '06296 GT Roadster in for a new '09 313GT Coupe (got a bloody good deal) which will be here in a couple of weeks, and was wondering if I can expect much difference in terms of pace, handling, grip.. Any views? Might help add to the anticipation a new car!
  14. Hiya, well, I worked for Ford for a few years, had two company cars with the job (mine, plus wife's) and got to change each every 5 months/5000 miles ) - so lots of (10+??) XJR jags, 4.0 S/XJs, before/after that M3, Z4 (hateful, hateful), Merc CLS, 911, Tiger6, Volvo estate thingy, Boxter, others, not in any particular order. I have always been an complete eejit/prat when it comes it cars - be they company or bought with my own cash. I got the 350 2 years ago and it's the longest I have ever kept a car. It's just my kind of car and I can't wait for my new one to come. Tell me, will 313 Coupe Vs 296 Roadster make much difference in terms of speed/handling/grip?
  15. Hi guys, and a big thank you to martinmac for the steer/intro from PH. I hail from East Herts, have a '06 350 GT Roadster, which has been by far and away my favourite ever car (despite a long list of previous cars costing a fair bit more), and I have just last week chopped it in for a new '09 (run out I guess) GT Coupe for a rather ludicrously discounted sum. Should be here in a coupe of weeks... Anyway, hello!
