If you'd seen that movie, then you'd agree that the "NOS" was so prominently product placed in that film.
I know that NOS stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems, but for the more chavvy types, it's become the term associated wth nitrous.
like in one scene, there are like 7 or 8 banners from "NOS" on one wall!!!!
So even if the film wasn't the origin of the name, it certainly what made it mainstream
