  1. spare wheel = dead weight Zed minus spare wheel = even bigger dead weight when punctured
  2. That looks quite nice actually
  3. Paint the car white! Perfect for black wheels with red lips
  4. Ok...ok...just paint the whole wheels red
  5. I got a point & click, just set the ISO to 64 or something, but low, then get a tri-pod, that should help shooting better pics with a P&C
  6. Them geeks prolly look a us and think "How can people spent so much time just washing/cleaning a car?"
  7. So........ you called "Admiral"... Got a "Major" pain in the butt.... But "General"-ly, it was ok... Now you get to enjoy your Zed in "Private" and be the "Captain" of the roads... Yeah, feeling a bit silly today, lol
  8. Get some black electrical tape and stick that over.....there problem solved for a fiver, lol
  9. Best thing to do....hit a long tunnel with your windows down and revs above 3500.....
  10. Might even tape the cable to the HU so it don't move at all Nothing dramatic happens, because when you hook up the HU back to the wiring loom, it will try to spit the tape out. I kinda anticipated this, thus left the flap in the default position in case it ejects. If you need a hand, let me know
  11. Typical response from Dan - but I kinda expect it from him To be perfectly honest, this does really work for me. May I also remind people that I run a K1 without bungs.... But in the end, a car will always have somesort of roadnoise and especially us Zed owners, due to the fact that our boot area kinda blends with the rest of the cabin. It's called a "ghetto mod" for a reason. I'm not an audiophile that demands perfection, just an average joe that doesn't want to spend £500+ on a new headunit and harnesses.......well not yet anyways
  12. Not wise to ask for vodka for jobs, especially when I am mentioning travelling to another town in my car, lol
  13. plugged into rear powersocket via a car charger And is that wire hidden away? I'd be interested to see how that looks, the reason I ask is that I doubt that my car charger would reach that far! it looks rather ghetto to be honest, but that's why it's a ghettotastic mod, lol. will pop out and take a pic after I've eaten... EDIT Here's the pic of the charger
  14. clicky axle has a distinct metallic sound to it, not a groan, like Trav said, it's prolly dry drop links
  15. Nope, but I could do it for free, as long as you already have a cassette adapter (Belkin one has the smaller iPod style plug), a car charger and an extention lead. It's a 30 min job at the most and I'd prolly be able to come to Lowestoft to help, provided you can pay in cups of tea
  16. we all have a tape deck with the effort why not do the tape deck hack? good job though Cos unlike you sir, I am hopeless with a soldering iron...
  17. bout time you posted on this, will sit and see how it turns out (of course hoping it's gonna be fantastic)
  18. I quite like my Bose headunit, mainly because I haven't really had any issues with it. I did have a FM Transmitter, but it was pants, especially with a stubby aerial. I purchased a Belkin casette adapter and even though many warned away from the cassette adapter, I found that the sound was fine for my liking. The only thing that actually bothered me, was the fact that I had a cable coming out of my tapedeck and it made it look quite naff. I decided today that it was time to do something about it and get off my lazy arse and try and tuck it away. Here's what I used: Belkin cassette adapter and the standard Bose HU I inserted the adapter before removing the HU, which would make it easier to route the cable later. I spotted a suitable hole on the bottom of the HU which I deemed suitable for my endeavour, because I could see the tape deck door/flap through it. Then I loosened all the clips that held the fasia panel and lifted it Luckily for me, the 3.5mm plug just fit through the hole I chose Then put it back together HU back in the car, I was thinking where to actually put the cable and iPod. rear cubby was the answer, but the existing cable was too short So I purchased an extension cable (3m with gold plated connectors for £9.99) Connected it one end and tidied the cable somewhat Removed all the bolts that hold the tunnel down and routed the cable to the rear cubby Cut the hole in the baseplate a little bigger so that all the wires could fit thru Quick check that it all works ok And there you have it, iPod connectivity on the cheap and no wires visible in the cabin, yay!
  19. Well, here's a clip of it with bungs out, lol (my car) And one of my mates K2
