  1. Was only watching alot of Gtr stuff yesterday on YouTube. Is that similar to what was being mentioned as a design flaw on some of the R35s where the pin would rattle like below https://youtu.be/e6Cfw0d05SU
  2. That's one happy Gtr owner who agrees with you
  3. Bayside Blue on the 50th anniversary for me https://youtu.be/UvCRoE6t8F8 But seeing as only 50 made worldwide, highly unlikely I'd find one In which case I'll take orange https://youtu.be/JixPBj4NL4Q
  4. A daytime pic from me for once. After it's Sunday bath.
  5. The man from Del Monte has given it the all clear so don't worry
  6. Wow.....I feel like I'm in my teens again. With a bootleg Sony Walkman from the market wearing headphones with bright orange sponges
  7. Welcome to the OC Just been looking at the pics on the Ace Cafe meet thread. Your interior is to die for. The seats The colours The tablet install. The boot install. Must sound epic when you fire up your tunes
  8. That's the money shot right there
  9. With so much rust prevention I assume that you're treating the zed as a "keeper"?
  10. Welcome to the OC. Looks like you're lucky to buy off a long term owner......IN THE FAMILY. Can't ask more than that. Always that element of fear not knowing how the car was treated before you owned it. Congratulations. And what a weekend to enjoy your new car
  11. I envy your DIY skills. I had a new single DIN unit nearly 10 years ago. Never got round to going back when I noticed the top of the trim behind the triple gauges hadn't been popped in properly. Is it a case of just forcing it to click back in?
  12. Nice to see a fellow Worx Hydroshot user. Liked mine so much I bought another after my first one packed up. Got lots of use out of it o we 4 years so not complaining.
  13. Welcome to the OC Another Sunset Orange owner here from Cheshire too . They do look mesmerising at night don't they
  14. I've been looking at these as a family car. Seems like prices are holding well if not going up. Reviews say that you forget about the sparse interior once you blast off to the burble of that boxer engine.
  15. What is it about Work wheels that make them SO DAMN SEXY? Glwts
  16. The green wheel nuts complement the wheels nicely. Who would have thought green would work so well.
  17. My exhaust is relatively new. About 6 months old. Although cleaned weekly and given a quick going over with metal polish every few weeks, they'd been getting rougher and rougher to the touch. Yesterday spent what seemed like 15 minutes just hand polishing half of one side til it was 90% perfect. Then today I dug out an old clay bar.......20yrs old! Less than 5 mins later both tailpipes were smooth as glass. Felt like a numpty not grabbing the clay earlier. Brothers thought I was bonkers getting annoyed at them feeling rough despite them looking shiny. "They look great bro.......who the hell cares if they feel rough......it's not like anyone is going to stroke the damn things!" Well actually yes......ME Anyway, I'm a happy chappy again. It must be all the roadworks going on this past year welding contamination and tar to the tailpipes that the clayade short work of.
  18. Those old tailpipes would have bugged the hell out of me. 1. They're so thin they literally remind me of baked bean tins. and 2. I just gotta have smooth polished tips. Rolled tips with branding embossed is my idea of tailpipe nirvana. If only an exhaust place could maybe modify the OEM rear silencer to return some aural delights. I seem to remember some have stripped the wadding from inside before but can't remember how good that sounded.
  19. Mad wrap skills. Going round curves I found SO HARD I gave up
  20. Can't believe I've overlooked this thread til now. Zed is coming along nicely. That exhaust no way looks second hand........just TOO GORGEOUS......looks box fresh. As for the undertray, only last week my friend discovered that the garage cut a hole in his so they could do the oil changes on his C Class without the hassle of removing and refitting it
  21. I've had my 05 DE for 16 years and 70k miles. It's been my daily but with the arrival of kids 12 years ago I use a family car when needed hence only 70k. The only memorable repairs I've needed were. Airbag clock spring costing about £200 where the garage sourced and fitted a second hand unit. Brake pedal switch failed 4 times, but that's a £6 part and 5 minute DIY job. O2 sensors have thrown a wobbler a few times but just needed the codes cleared. Tailgate struts failed twice......it's a HEAVY tailgate. Boot popper springs failed a few times. Adding washers helps for a couple years then they fail again and you need to press the button twice to release the boot fully again. Bought a new set from Nissan once but they only lasted a few years also. Airbag light has come on a few times when I've moved the passenger seat...... again just a free reset needed. The rest has just been wear and tear stuff like Belts Brakes Exhaust Banana arms I'm still on original clutch But when that goes it's one of the bigger outlays as you'll need to budget for a new flywheel too. When running 19s, good tyres can cost a fair bit and despite me hardly doing any motorway miles I only see 18mpg so budget for alot of 98/99ron petrol. In general, garage costs at my independent garage has been similar to our Kia Sportage and Mini Cooper. I'm only an average driver at best so can't comment on handling except that tyres make a big difference to how it drives. Even I felt a difference going from 12 years of Falkens to Michelins.
  22. That's a good price Amazon is doing. The Castrol site says the cheaper M is for the Zed. The Opie oils site says both are recommended. The M it is then Although the Mini has an indicator for service interval which can be upto 24,000 miles or 2 years, I never paid any notice. We've done 48k since taking delivery in 06 but get a service every year never waiting for the service light. Then there's others like my boss. He's got a '91 911 Carrera. Hasn't even changed the oil in FIVE years coz he says he only does the odd Sunday drive in it. But then again he runs mixed second hand tyres in it too. Poor 911 has rust around all the windows. Chunks of clearcoat missing. Replica 911 rims. He took it to a bodyshop last month for a respray expecting to pay a couple of grand and they refused to take it saying that once they start it could open a can of worms and end up costing 10x that price
  23. I got some oil from Costco for our 06 Mini Cooper. 4 litres of Castrol Edge 5w30 M was £25 Inc VAT. £5 cheaper than the Castrol Edge 5w30 LL. The only difference I can see in the label is the cheaper one is MB and BMW approved whereas the dearer one is MB and Porsche approved with "titanium fluid strength technology" The wife's Mini got the cheaper one last week but would the zed benefit from the dearer LL version? Pics below
  24. I watch quite a few of the creations from this outfit. Extreme conversions done to a very fine level.
