  1. Got mine when I was 23, still 23. Paid £200 ish loading on the policy to change from my Celica GT (that policy was circa £500). Just had my renewal through of £715, a little bit of banter on the phone and my renewal is now £615. Not too bad I guess with 4 NCB. I'd quite like an R34 GTR or TVR T350 next but I be-grudge paying over £1,000 to insure a car. We'll see!
  2. If someone had a 'Stage 3' Astra VXR, I'd shy away from it, it'd pull away from a 350. Astra's are just frenetic to be in anyway with standard power, they're never really an 'animal' to drive as they're pretty FWD, more like a cat with a bit of a temper. They're still a bit 'oh crikey' but they won't kill you. Corsa's can be reasonably quick. Circa 210-220bhp with a re-map, more with an exhaust. Regal do a 300+ bhp kit I've driven a re-mapped one, felt standard to me.... There are quite a few Astra's which are 310- 330bhp, not uncommon. 400bhp has been done but it's a Regal Demo car I think. I'm told that the Corsa VXR has a faster 30-70 time than a Golf R32. And don't pay £18k for a Corsa VXR, come and see me, you can have an Astra for that with much change. Meriva VXR's are no more, discontinued from 2010MY. Zafira's aren't that bad to drive, just, if you need a people carrier, you could at least get one that's a little more 'grown up'. Vectra VXR's aren't fun, VXR8's are. Oh and the white Astra's are Astra VXR Nurburgring Editions. They come with a Remus, un-officially power is around 260-265 bhp.
  3. And if you've got a harness on when just pimping around the streets, they become very annoying, very quickly.
  4. It's looks really small? In reality, probably the same size as my Nismo chome one, but it looks smart. It's not the size, it's what you do with it that counts
  5. Awesome, I'll give you a tinkle when I'm flush with cash!
  6. Will the 19" GTR's be stocked sort of 'forever' if you know what I mean? It's just, I want a set of these wheels but my standard 18" tyres are fairly new and I'd rather wait a little til they're about done. And at the minute, I'd really miss £1,300 out of my bank account! I'd be gutted to miss these, but if they're an on going stock item, I'll just grab a set a little later!
  7. Rota's in 19's? Am I reading this right? They look spot on! How much monies?
  8. I'm really not a fan of diesels. I dislike; The smell The way they deliver power The sound Having to start one I'm just not happy about 1,500-2,000 RPM of power and then literally nothing. But I recognise that they're good and can be very quick, I just won't have one. BMW have done a good job disguising the diesel noise. Car manufacturers are getting much better. I work for Vauxhall and the pick of the engines (aside from the VXR 2.0T) is the 1.9 CDTi 150PS. Likewise with the Insignia, the 2.0 CDTi 160PS is the one to go for. The best engines in the 'normal' (not VXR) cars are the diesels, they just feel so much more pokey. But then again, there is a bit of a premium to get a diesel over a petrol model. I recently drove a Mondeo with the 2.2 TDCi, stonking engine, much more refined that the Vauxhall units I'm used to. But luckily, I'm not bothered about the above. My heart sinks a little, I feel cheap and disappointed everytime I get in a car and the redline is at 4,000 RPM. And Prius' are worse by a mile. But then again, if we're all pimping about in our 3.5 litre planet killer, at least they're saving it for us. Shame their car is that economical, or does much to save the planet.... Bless!
  9. I wash mine at least once a week, twice if weather permits. I'll wax it maybe every other time I wash it, time and weather permitting. I find it quite relaxing so I dont mind. If I get a full session in, I can easily spend 5-7 hours on it. I do the interior maybe once a month, it never gets dirty, just a little crap on the mats, that's all. If they get a little minging, I'll hoover them and the car looks mint again.
  10. I'm a fan of this! I've used Collinite 915 which seems to be serious pita the take off on a light coloured car, let alone a black one. The HD goes on fairly easily, comes off really easy. It's only slightly harder to remove than AG SRP, which if I'm honest, is easy to remove. Beadage seems good! With a weeks worth of crap on the car, it was still beading. She's now got 3 coats on, and will continue to get a coat everytime I wash the car, mainly as it's that easy to do. £20 is a good price! £40 is the RRP but you can find it everywhere on the interweb for £30. It's still the cheapest I've seen this wax advertised at. (that's not my video, or car)
  11. My money is still on Ben Collins. I read somewhere that Kovakinen was 'The Stig' when the Renault F1 car went round. I did expect clarkson to take the time off the board for the speed hump rule. IRRC the Aston DBR9 went round slightly quicker And it had less power!
  12. It looks like they do them to fit standard wheels. http://www.courtesyparts.com/logo-chrom ... 19540.html
  13. CS was entirely correct. I'm assuming they're sold now. The link was Azure skirts for £80.
  14. I'm slightly tempted to get a price for each single brand new component from Nissan that makes up my 350z, split it up all nicely in an eBay listing, say it's worth as a bundle £30,000?? Then advertise it for a shite load more than it's worth. Great idea! Oh and mention at the bottom that it only comes with 1 wheel.

    Sexy Rexy

I do love Rex's. My mate's got one, it's gorgeous, but it never works properly. Thre is always an issue with it, be it big or small. "losing boost", "might have broken a tip off a rotor", "it's flooded and won't start" It's been rebuilt and all that jazz. I'm just hoping that he's got a bad one and that they're not all like that. If I'm honest, NSX anyday.
  16. Get yourself a set of the Alpinestars - http://www.gprdirect.com/OnlineShop/Pro ... 34&p=44891 Pimptastic
  17. http://www.jdmperformance.co.uk/item_de ... odID=55328 A bit of a bargain if you've got an Azure?
  18. Thanks boss. You are a true gentleman, albeit a hairy one!
  19. Oh bloody hell! I think that's what stuck in the back of my mind that made me think it's a 12mm. There does seem to be a bit of confusion about peoples shaft sizes. Or perhaps Nissan thought some people simply couldn't manage a 12mm and so they downsized to a more manageable girth of shaft? I've just measured mine all scientifically with a caliper and everything, 10mm. I do love innuendo
  20. Thanks Paul but I've just measured my shaft. 10mm shaft
  21. I've searched high and low, all over this forum. Still no joy as to whether my shaft is 10mm or 12mm... Just seeing if someone knew so I didn't have to get in the car, start faffing with the knob etc.
  22. "Up to my nuts in guts" Probably one of the best programmes on!
  23. Oo er! For some reason I have it in my head that the gearknob I'm looking for should be an 12mm? Should I be looking for an 10mm? I would just like some clarification. I have a UK 55 plate. Innuendo welcome!
  24. Have you thought about investing in a dog? A mean one would do the trick I think.
