  1. Happy birthday Macca ......ehem ol' chap
  2. Nice trip blog you got going here Ian Glad you got to Hungary ok. Looking forward to seeing you at the Ring on Saturday. Spent today a spa and i and fresh and sharp to beat my PB at the Ring so bring extra pants +1 on the pics and vids
  3. Good days work and really nice pics and zeds Well done chaps
  4. Nice one Anders. Enjoy the beast now after all the hard graft to make this happen
  5. Quick reset tip. Disconect the -ve battery terminal for at least 10mins and depress the brakes pedal fully to discharge the capacitors which will comopletely reset the ECU and evrything else on the car then reconnect the terminal and job done If that fails(unlikely) then i'm afraid you are up sh%t creek and deperate for a paddle
  6. The white plastic whithin the plug is designed to be removable for proper contact of the pins and it needs to be removed to click perfectly on UK zed otherwise no other cutting/modding is required I am not a zmanalex fanboy member and i have bought loads from him and he's usually forthright and unambiguous
  7. Paul T you are mad But white works well with a zed though i would go for gloss black wheels and roof to give t an edgier look The new owner will have a well sorted and pampered zed. PS: I would be however interested in the final weight of the car after all the reprays
  8. You're mad Ian How low do you want me to go I was thinking about the callipers in same liquid yellow just waiting for new piston seals from Ksport before taking it to the blasters. Found a local company to electroplate the nuts and bolts for only £30 for their standard bag. Will turn out well i suspect. Not you You can never be too low you are aware of the concept of hellaflush?
  9. Assumming that it £500 to spend i would improve the handling with the complete front axle Superpro urethane bushing kit with alignment correction and use the change to get urethane ARB bushes from them too . It will optimised the performance of you sARB and the front end will have more grip, precision and cure the understeer. I completed mine not too long ago and its just amazing how much feel you loose with the OEM rubber bushes. Its just point and shoot now I can't wait to do the rears You have enough power; just need to make everything work optimally

  11. 85 laps is not bad but as you rightly said spread over 6years means you loose practice. So very well done to put that time. you do no have dodgy lines per say it just you turn in or brake too early in those crucial places and it means you are not set up right for the next corners and carry less speed through. In a few other places your exit is to early. eg at carousel you have to stay left all the way untill you get on smooth tarmac as if you come off to early to take the natural line going up Hoe acht you unstaedy the car quite badly due to the adverse camber change and in the wet or moist condition it result in a few disasters. What do you think of the federals? I have always used MPS 2 N1 which are good but i know i can pick up more time with R compound but it scares me to get too much grip at my disposal I know i will abuse it just like i abuse having very good brakes. Its nice to know the corners so you can relate to the same things and its not as had as you think to remember Unfortunately i have no videos for that lap as its only recently that i started using recording equipement and even so its a nightmare to get it as you need to be careful. I have an a couple of 08:30-40 and have been trying to uplaod them but my service is so slow that i have given up I will ask wasso to do this for me when i get to see him Taurim is very good and he runs with TC fully disconnected( Not just just turning the swith on/off. He sent me the DIY mod but scare to mess with electrics and more so i am happy with just turning the switch off or on I'll sent you a corner by corner line analysis video in real time and slow motion which will show you all you need to know including braking and turning landmarks. I found this as good as have a local instructor. cheers
  12. I love this satin black finish. Would get this on my zed someday Is it a wrap or paint? Do you have more pics of different views? i'd really like to see them for inspiration
  13. Taddy, IMO the Ing +1 bumper works better as a black lip with the rest of the bumper painted body color. You know I'm a fan of your car and a bonafide member of the black on black club but its a tad too far (excuse the pun ) and needs some distraction eg painted callipers or polished lip .......along those lines I bought the CF bonnet fron Paul T a while ago and was going to remove the yellow strip and paint the whole thing black after repairing the cracked tips but after a test fit i was sure a bit of color in the right place made the black even better. I feel on my zed the yellow stripes.....and eyelids define the front arch bulges and gives an aggressive stance a la GTR especially to the cars infront you are about to overtake . As a result, I have now christenned my zed bumblebee though my mates call it the "wasp" At the end of the day what matters is having a go and liking the result as you will always get a mixed review of your efforts
  14. Very good time Trackpig It would be interesting to know how many completed laps you have at the ring to get the bigger picture IMHO not lots looking at your wide lines in loads of corners( exit of T13, entry to adenauer, metzgetfeld and Brescheid, brunchen to name a few ) but its shows for sure that you have loads of trackday experince and feel for your car and with more laps under your belt at the ring and a few upgrades you will most likely beat my best time of 08:15 BTG or even Serge's(Taurim) of 08:11 Your lines in hatzenbach, kallenhard and wehrseifen were spot on. The key in the Ring is very late turn into corners Also surprising is how much steering inputs you are making and your body mov't I guess the federal R compound(road tyres may not be so forgiving )helps but you're a tad too aggresive for this track The other thing i noticed is it looks like your BC coilies are set up soft which is key in the Ring . Most people(including myself wayback) are tempted to run too hard a setup and end up with little grip and a very understeery car. I would recommend bigger brakes, uprated ARB and wider tyres(mininum 245/275) if you do not have this already and an oil cooler( Still to get mine ). In all i can see your track experience shines through and with the right setup and experince you can crack the 8min barrier at the Ring. This is my long term ambition but i always seem to mess up at a few corners when its all going well or just can't run beacause of traffic Hope we can meet or plan to meet someday and use each other to run for 8mins or less How did your brake cooling duct hold up? How many laps did you do back to back before they got long if at all? I will be doing mine before my final trip in october or even possibly september.
  15. Nice vids and pics Fun day out on all accounts We look out for this next year and get time off to give it a go Well done mate and thanks for sharing.
  16. The red ring to the right of the bush assembly is part of the ARB and its to prevent lateral movement of the ARB. The bush is just a fulcrum or pivot point for the ARB so when its worn there will be some lateral play as the bar can slide in or out rendering its function ineffective and vague Some aftermarket ARBs (including the rear OEM or even Whiteline ARB for the Z)donot have this so Whiteline sells these lateral locks to do the job. http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_det ... mber=KLL1_ _
  17. Antiroll bar bush: These bear the brunt of the twist forces generated by the ARB transfering roll and keeping the geo stable so it corners well and as a result will were out urethane or rubber. I have had the Eibach ARB for 3years now so they had taken a beating and have shrunk to about 20% from original i reckon so the OEM rubber will be worse ruining your handling Its the cheapest bush to get and is damn easy to fit. No pressing in or out involved Worn Eibach bushes(front) Fresh Superpro ones(left 2) waiting to go: Installed: Superpro only makes 20mm(OEM size) bushes for the rear so i am getting universal 22mm urethane ones from Powerflex to match the 22mm Eibach ARBs.
  18. Yup But i hope to get the full half deg gain Pm'ed you mate
  19. Upper control(camber) arms with camber adjust bushes - these give you a fixed +/_ 0.5deg deping on configuration on installation. With OEM bushes pressed out: New eccentic center pin slides into bushes by hand after generous lubing: Close ups of bushings: Eccentic hole facing outside end of inner control arm bush to increase camber. set the other way to reduce camber.Very clever setup Completed tranverse link and UCA of one corner.
  20. Hi Jez, i tried to call you for your feedback before oredering the camber adjust bushes but you have been out most times I noticed on your facebook page that there is little camber gain after fitting the upper front camber adjust bushes. why is that so? you should get .5deg increase or decrease in camber depending on how you fit it the caster certainly is increase i did not go for caster adjust as mine is already increase as a result of looking the car Visually i have notice the increase in front camber and should be near or on -2deg now Will do a geo check with graphs at the weekend for exact figures. Having some probs with photobucket but will upload the rest of the bushes install pics asap
  21. Welcome back Lexx What you need is that yank tank engine in the zed and all you wishes will come true
