As covered already, the zed is quite capable and very durable but the runing cost will be similar to your 911 albeit you avoid the stealers. It will be fine as stock for the Ring but for serious longterm fun you will need to improve on the brakes and suspension. Powerwise it will be less so than the 911 but there are a few improvement to be had as NA at reasonable cost and more if you were to go for it anbd go FI. IMO SC-ing is the best route if you want to keep the engine stock. In the end it comes down to what makes financial sense for you. You can even go wild and strip out the zed for a road legal track car and use the rest of the money for a sensible saloon/estate for mundane duties. This is very apealing now given how low you can get a decent 03 zed for Forget about 2+2 seat setup. I have seen a thread in the states where it was well executed but its very limited and probably unsafe.

I just completed the speed awareness course 2 weeks ago in lieu of point as i got averaged between M25 J 29-30! The thing is i was on criuse control at 50mph all through the variable speed camera section coming from the M4 so why did i get done at 60mph at between 29 and 30 which was my exit??? I know this stretch of road well as i visit my sis in Basildon all the time using this route. I tried to dispute it with Essex police or ask for recorded proof and i was told to opt going to court to contest the decision nd evidence will be brought forward I just ended up taking the course(£80/4hrs) and forget about it as this is just ridiculous. Why don't they just send your NIP with evidence so you are in no doubt to what you are held for rather than for you to chosse the court option to get evidence, accept points or take the course? The law should'nt be like this surely . If i had the time i would have taken the option and gone to court as i have won once before for an error on their part. got £240 in cost Hope you are lucky but prepare for the worst.

Nope mate! That job is crucial donot cut corners!! The nuts only secure the aftermarket wheel on the hub and without the spigot due to the huge centripetal forces will lead to micro movement and vibration which could fatigue the bolts with dire consequences. Spigots are about £10 for 4 on eBay
-
Zed is 66.1 Common aftermarket wheels for jap cars have centre bore ID 72.6 or 73 You you likely need a 66.1 ID and 72.6/73 OD spigot. However measure it to be sure or look in the inside face of the wheel and it should be written there along with wheel weight, ET and dimensions Std sized plastic spigots are cheap on eBay but if you can get metal ones made custom. I did this after getting fedup of them cracking all the time from heat prolly from track driving.

The diameters are the same as within all uk cars(34mm/21mm) but bigger wrt JDM cars(32mm/20mm). The increase stiffness was achieved by increase wall thickness as they are hollow tubes. This OEM upgrade should be very worthwhile for JDM cars as these have smaller ARB's diameter for comfort. Most aftermarket upgrades are 34-36mm/20mm but have adjustability to further increase stiffness if required. Look up 350z wiki for this tech

Chris, it's a revup manifold not DE. Will fit with no issues. The difference is the runners are shorter which than the DE's which accounts for why the revup made more power and slightly less torque than the DE but at a higher rev max. Longer runners better for torque. ?Could reverse be reproducible on the DE with raised revs and remap???. Its possible and I have not come across any data or facts to support or prove the contrary. Might work well with the SC which is different from NA who knows

Just got my Kinetix velocity inatke manifold(took 3weeks due to delay by UK customs ) so the perfomance items below need to go. The plenum spacer or Motordyne MREV2 needs no introduction as the best mods proven to make power/torque especially on the revup VQ engine. Only the spacer is required for Non-revups . I also got a second MREV2 up for sale which i bought my with my Kinetix manifold to cover some costs:teeth: Motordyne MREV2. (2 in stock) SOLD 1-Off my car yesterday: Installed 2+ years ago (Dynoed from 240WHP =>270WHP with these mods) 2-Extra purchased used from US: As is on Motordyne website. Custom plenum spacer with hardware. SOLD This spacer is a custom. It fits perfect and taller(~1/2") than the MD 5/16th spacer for extra volume but clears the strut brace. Comes with all the hardware kit (Custom made by Horsham -dev @£50).

Thanks Dave for the reminder ear plugs will be provided. Actually the exhaust will be quieter by then as i was banned at the Ring last year on my last trip and had to use my least agressive map and D1 TC set at ECO1 to pass the static noise test at 97db at 3000rpm. Officially the static test is 94db max(at half the engine rev limit) but they will allow up to 100db . My zed with baffles on and at my most aggressive MAP and TC at SP7 was 118db at 3000rpm(I lied that my rev limit was 6000rpm though its set at 7500rpm Will i have fixed the door handle and put extra bolts to hold it in place and now have a barf bag as standard

I know there was a thread somewhere raising interest within the forum to go to the Ring this year. The timetable has been out for sometime and only covers up to july. There is a lots of negative press on about the Rings present future but its relatively safe to say all commits for the year will be respected and the TF should continue despite any transition between ownership or other arrangements. That said a few dates are of great interest if one can take the time off to be there. April Friday 6th - monday 9th will be an epic 4 days of long 0800-1930 sessions at the Ring and should allow one to get some decent laps speard over those days. I for one will be there with my friends but it maybe a good opportunity for people here who want to go to join I am not starting a list but safe to say i'll be leaving on Thurdsay 5th(Pm) to return on Tuesday 10th(late AM) and going via Eurotunnel. Anyone wanting to join us feel free to PM me. I may also have a spare seat like i did with Will350z last year for a part split of the costs and that will include driven laps by yourself under tuition, passenger laps and also passenger laps with my friends. How does a Porcshe 997GT3 RS, 996 GT3 RS, BMW M3 V8, BMW M3 CSL and R35 GTR sound ? Next long weekend will be May Sat 26th - monday 28th which i would plan to do as well
