Chris words fail me to describe you ingenuity. Penning a date at the shed before long. Did the ghetto airbag resistors mod work? No airbag warning light! Need to do this when I fit my cobras. What about the passenger seat pressure sensor? Did you come up with a way to fool it too! I have read what resistors to use from the states guys but what did you use? I value your expertise. Since you beat me to the shine bumper are you selling the OEM bumper from project zebra? What a spare to cut holes for my cooler and brake intake mod and fab a custom APR type splitter to use only on track days Cheers

SOLD!!! Bulbs and Spacer Sale Pending on one MREV2. Can't believe its taken this while. Its a shame the spacer and MREV2 are not going to the same person as this makes gains and way cheaper than all the mods we spend hard earns on for little gains. Whether these are original MREV2 or replicas i can say because the MREV2 is the OEM lower non revup plenum than has ben modified by motordyne after flow analysis. All i can say is i have had in total 3 MREV2s now. All purchased from the states used from different owners and they all look the same. I tuned the car with two and it delivered. first time without spacer and second with. My baseline was 240whp and up to 260whp with the MREV2 and 270whp with spacer. Other mods where K1 exhaust with Y-pipe, and HKS filter. There was no difference with the AEM CAI and OEM airbox with HKS filter between dyno tests so i sold it promptly for the bling crowd My car is tuned with UTEC I promptly sold the Berks after so much rash and only 4whp to so for and went with Decats loud but when tuned makes power. My final dyno when i had done and tested all combos of mods was 284whp. So the first i sold 2+ years ago to a member here(Introspect) and it made power/torque after reflash with Uprev I repurchased replacement as soon as i had funds and thats whats been on my car until i removed now to instal my kinetix SSV. The third one i bought together with the kinetix to offset the shipping and custom costs but in retrospect i would'nt have bothered as its taking much time to sell despite numerous pm's of interest I am just recouping my purchase cost now which is why i have priced to sell. Hoped to get more. Many pips in the US have copied it just like Abbey has done(its not a secret what they do its all visible to see!)and sells then for similar as motordyne prices when he can get his hands on these OEM plenums as they are rare to come by. Wasso(Ian) has one of such modified plenums from Abbey and it made gains. So go figure what is original or replica i can say. But the facts speak for themselves. ITs been proven time and time again what works or not for N/A on our cars -Non revup OEM airbox + filter Plenum spacer Decats or HFC Y-pipe and a tune: Uprev, Standalone ECU, piggyback ECU etc Revup OEM airbox + filter Plenum spacer MREV2 or modified plenum like it Decats or HFC Y-pipe and a tune: Uprev, Standalone ECU, piggyback ECU etc HR Decats/HFC y-pipe And a tune All other stuff, full exhaust system, grounding kits, CAI, voltage stabiliser or amplifiers, pulleys make little or no power but rather optimise function, pleasure or both and should beconsidered after the above. So i hope i have answered the questions and pm querries

Turned out really nice Dave! Could you piece together a parts list and where to get all that's required to do this?. Want to give it a go
-
Yup factory or any other bar will clear. I am powdercoating with my wheels at the sametime hence not installed now. Will be glad to help with guidance as the manual is pants. One more feature about the Kinetix is the coolant bypass from the TB (to prevent TB butterfly valve freezing). This is unnecessary in the UK as we dont see extreme and long winters so it just increase your IATs for nothing loosing a few ponies here and there. Always wanted to buy the motordyne CCV to bypass the coolant and no need for that now

Happy b-day chap Hope you and Rosie have a great day!

Neilp Build thread-- " NOS.... I Need NOS!!! "
GT4 Zed replied to Neilp's topic in Member Build Projects
Very nice numbers for NA tune Neil Standalone ECU gives you more freedom to optimise every aspect of a tune. UTEC, Unichip and other piggyback or reflashes like Uprev or Technosquare are all very good but just overidding the OEM ECU parameters so are limited ultimately but if you look at the cost difference both routes are good,so far as your tuner can make the most of it and what your budget limitation is. Neil, I really love that cage even more now turned out real nice but as pointed you forgot the harnes bar Waiting for the NOS tune and dynoes -
Nice idea or simpler with an rpm dependent exhaust valve. There and simple to install plug and plays kits I have seen in the past. It should be easy to debling polished hardpipes. I favour blasting then primer and powdercoat for a chip free solution. The intercooler will require special thin thermal dispersant paint like with black OEM radiators.

Wow!! The car looks clean and that paint is amazing Will I love the rear end "is my butt big in this" shot Screen saved I definately have to come down to Surrey to see her in flesh and erhmmmmmm......... Take her out for a spin That number plate would be icing on the cake. Come on Will you know you want to. This plus an invidia Gemini exhaust, Berks HFCs and Uprev are a match made in heaven. Call it investments and you will feel better

Thanks chaps With keyser around one cannot help to have inspiration to modify stuff. It was a matter of time and getting the right kit for the right price. I am happy with how i have evolved the car up to this point and its now ready for more power. Unfortunately this will not stay shinny for long as it will all be powdercoated matt black. So you are right there Stew I have snagged a SC! Vortech V2 T trim. Install will be sometime in early May as I am getting some custom things made for it and will take time and more money I love the simplicity of the vortech but hate the aeroplane whine!!!. So I'm getting a custom CAI made and relocating the BPV such that I can recirculate into the CAI and kill the noise. Also getting a single hard pipe made from compressor to TB with integrated MAF port rather than the 2 seperate pipes on both sides of the MAF housing like in the OEM vortech setup which looks weird and potential areas for boost leak. Chris and Sam, I would pm some details about this if you are interested. Strafe auto used to make this but stopped. Anyway the whole kit will be powdercoated matt black, all hose couplers swapped black and black t-bolt clamps to replace the jubilees , even the supercharger housing and intercooler are going black for a subtle look I need a quieter exhaust now for the perfect sleeper Daren, I am working on the exhaust. Should have been sporting militek's if not of you Will told me how you swooped in for his I will not bother with dynoing this since i'm not staying NA. Once everything comes together I will start a build thread. I have loads of parts to fit and will just post up as I go along for now. Next up is oil cooler, oil pan spacer and thermostatic sandwich plate.

I finally got one more piece of the jigsaw (Soon to be named project bumblebee) in the form of the kinetix velocity intake manifold yesterday and promptly installed it on the zed. took the opportunity to change my old plugs which have been in for about 30K miles and they looked a sorry state This was my second set of Denso iridiums they where so i wonder what the platinums OEM would have been like NGK iridium 1 step colder in compliment the next part of my project.Had a large box delivered with this inside and an MREV 2 (up for sale Shinny, lightwieght and better designed than the old SSV that had dodgy welds. This has equal length tuned runners for more torque and hp with velocity stacks in side and an overall bigger chamber volume than the stock plenum. Out with the old: Took the oportunity to clean the Tb which was well greasy and sticky with blowby oil TB before & after: Few plugs close up My advice would be to change plugs at 15k interval max if tracking the car. Installed. Very is easy and fits perfect. Did this at night with sinle light source . The car idles and pulls smoothly and strong like with the MREV2 and spacer but and induction and exhaust note is now deeper. You can hear the air rushing in distinctly!

Yup. one matrix is standard ceramic and the other is metal substrate (i guest 400cell or more looking at how tightly packed it is )End result is that the flow is very resticted especially by the ceramic part of the cats

Pm replied. Get it for what i paid. Wasso has the same for his V2 bumper. Tested but not fitted. It kocher All you need is to prep and paint then install.

As already mentioned the bhp figures only does not say the full tale of the improvements gained Secondly I don't think you only gained 12whp/15lb ft from stock. Depending on what year your car is you would be any where from 230-250whp max at stock so you have gained more than you credit your efforts. Thirdly you could have achieved this same gain with less cost if you had planned ahead and tuned once, got cheaper but still good quality components eg a scorpion instead of a millitek or not buying stuff that makes no power like the pop charger when OEM with a good filter works better. Same as HFC vs decats. Yes you got to re swap for MOT I don't mean to be harsh so don't take it wrong, its just to show you the big picture. Finally depending on what year your car is, an MREV2 would get you more mid range torque and a bit more on peak power and torque. You would have read here what it cost to get power NA on the zed So enjoy you car and don't be dissappointed

You can get them from concept z performance in the US. I got this from him together with the Nismo roller pin throw out bearing for my JWT uprated clutch and lightweight flywheel. Speak or email Coz and their service is very speedy. I don't have dimensions but pics I can pm to you if it helps but he should be able to get you concrete info. I am about to do a small order for bits and bobs, pm me if you want to get these Check prices yourself at conceptz performance online.

You are doing it Dave When shall I book my car in lads? Just tell me what u need to get and should be a laugh. Subscrided for final results and pics I miss my RSW CF trim now now can I have it back Dave? lol
-
I got the canards from Cal (thanks for quick delivery and mighty padded packaging ) hoping I could make it fit my V1 bumper but it would require extensive modding that I may as well start from scratch. It's a perfect fit for the nismo V2 bumper and looks the biz. So pm me if I beat you to it unless I can snag a v2 bumper. I really love canards £20 only

I agree with Ekona here and though it not a one size fit all solution for all corners firmer decisive braking and turn in optimuses weight transfer to your advantage as well a keeping your braking time shorter and hence "cooler" so it's optimal for the next time u need it. If you think braking is friction and friction generates heat and heat brings about fade especially if your pad compound is not suitable or the disc size is inadequate to dissipate the heat then you are halfway there. The rest is track and track surface specific and vehicle handling characteristic which determines what constitutes the best braking for each situation. However the best starting point is investing in a very good braking system which has the effect to resist fade by better heat dissipation. The confidence from this does wonders.

What a steal I would have bought this for parts alone and made a tidy profit. Hope you part it out, drop in your spare engine and cage/strip it for a rental track car By the time you part out the interior, wheels, haltech, body kit, engine parts this project will pay for itself with change left over Dibs on the haltech

Lexx picked up the flooring with his mum Joking Shes cool and very supportive Now would like the rest gone. Any reasonable offers will be considered for the fireplace. don't want to put it in my garage and damage something

Mate those tyres are just not acceptable as your rolling radius is waaaay out Its +6.2% larger compared to 225/40/18 on std 18" Rays and even +3.65% larger compared with what he should have put on => 245/35/19. It's important to keep the original rolling radius with +/- 2.5%. You achieve this by fitting a larger wheel and a smaller profile tyre to compensate or smaller wheel with larger profile not the other way round. That front tyre is too big Apart from TC issues your, gearing will be affected and speedo reading will be off. Get him to sort this out or if he does'nt as you have no proof, sell it on ebay and get the right tyres. But by now you sfully realise that garage is very dodgy especially and should never step foot there again. It always worth asking before you commit if unsure. Plenty here to help in the forum
