You dont need any tool mate. After removing the nut just press down flat on the wiper arm (not wiper blade) about midway of its lenght on the windscreen and the wiper arm just pops off the spline . It not magic but by pressing down on the arm it aligns the spline shaft with the spline grooves on the wiper arm so it comes off no fuss. Pulling etc just jams it tight as it angles the arm onto the spline. There is usually no need for WD40 as the splines are protected by the weatherproof plastic cap over the spline nut but there is no harm to squirt a bit before you give it a go

Ah....forgot about this thread. I gave this ago last month when i got my subframe of the car to fit bushes and used the exact HD grease as the OP My clicking disappeared and has remained so despite some major hooning. Need to see if it will after a track session but i have a feeling it will and if not i'll just regrease it ......had almost a tub full left Thanks Mark for this

Nice work mate and different but IMHO bronze wheels works well on thinner spoked wheel. The OEM wheels are too chunky and makes it look fake. So does the door handles and grill. As said already if these where Rays painted bronze, lowered and spaced it would look ace and still different. I love the lights but those reflectors on the number plate are awfull

Sorry mate about your crash. These things happen and you will never be able to completely explain it. The best you can ever do is to keep your vehicle in top shape with good parts eg tyres brakes fliuds and most of all continually improve your skill because no one is perfect and there is always room for improvement. As other have already mentioned get the car on a jig or fully assessed with a comprehensive parts list if its worth repairing and i am sure you will be able to get parts from traders here and also forum members who have various bits and bobs lying around after upgrtading their cars. Given the age of the car i would take th money from insurance assuming it was insured and get a replacement zed because unless you are skilled to do most of the work you may save yourself 50-60% of good garage quote but you end up with a car with little value or that you have little confidence in. Good luck with everything.

I can't believe its over a week since Wales 2012 Its been really nice to see all the vids and pics that have been posted so far (DJtimo you are a legend!) and the very good comments towards the organisers for the effort to make this a massive success again . Without being too repetitive I have to say a big thank you to Colins the rest of the team: Chris, Will, Darren, James just to name a few. Historically i have been late to Wales and always spent just half a day but now i know what i have been missing.....suday in particular was epic. I will ensure that next year i do the whole weekend fri-Mon! As always it was fun newer members who were doing Wales for their first time, just as it was to catch up with old friends and acquaintances. keith(maccaman) we missed you Congratulations to all and especially to the traders who supported the charity fundraising with very impressive goodies and hopefully we will do better next year. I did not take loads of pics and focused my efforts on vids but the wind noise means they are worthless but here are the very few i took of the fast convoy Thats me trying to cut you guys off enroute to the lake on saturday only to realise that this route was very narrow and tortuous....came accross only 1 car after over 1 hr of driving Nice booty I avoided to take a pic of Rosie's enormous booty before i got lookup up for sexual harrassment Waiting for the rest! Dazza! Where do i start? Thanks for the lead and pace making and for giving me a prelude to what i will be enjoying soon. Your zed is now sensational Bumble bee Thanks Ian(wasso) she had never been that clean in her life. Oi Will, and where do you think you are going to?

Nice one Dazza you did it! Good numbers and safe. Job well done by both yourself and Abbey. Can't wait to see it in the flesh in Wales.

During public access or touristenfarhten in German you cannot do a complete flying lap. Customarily you time your lap from bridge to gantry(BTG). This time is about 30-40 secs less than a full lap depending on the car. The bridge (with Bilsteins advert) is as you go down to Tiergarten some 800yrds of the barriers and the gantry (with Audi advert) is at the end of galgenkoph or the beginning of Dottinger hohe (straights). You can through the barrier on Dottinger straights or in and out through the car park barrier during TF if you wanted to do back to back laps but these areas are coned so its a crawl through. If you are really interested in doing a proper full lap then you need to book a private trackday. There are loads to choose from but cost more. Google search is your friend but if you need specifics I can help.

It always has been but reaching final development. Lots is things happening behind the scenes but will be revealed in one big build thread. @kyleR could be done if you were comming to the Wales weekend not that far mate. @ goodatcrashing: no mate it's bonded and will most likely be destroyed in trying to seperate. You can try if you bought it

More gutting of the zed so the following up for sale or swap where applicable You would have to come to west midlands for swap or pick up as these are cumbersome and fragile item or buyer can arrange shipping themselves. 1-Uber rare original veilside V1 Carbon Fibre lip . Sprayed matt black and bonded to OEM kuro bumper modified with black zmanalex mesh grill. £200 or £150 for the lip and £50 for the bumper (I can add pop up washers, washer bottles with all pipework for an additional fee). Note there tiny stone chips as expected (repaired and sprayed last year) 2-Nismo V1 rear spoiler bonded/ screwed to OEM kuro boot. £200 for the spoiler on its own or £175 swap with kuro boot. Black z badge and Nurburgring sticker are free OEM steering wheel with buttons and intact airbag. £90Need to repost picture. Something wrong with my Photobucket

Search is ur friend I just used these 2 guides to remove and fit my OMP steering. Courtesy of Andy @ kudos automotive: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=33705 My 350z tech: http://www.350z-tech.com/wiki/index.php ... ol_Install I didn't bother doing a guide as these are self explanatory but feel free to pm if any questions or issues.

Our dream home! A huge thank you to Sarnie!

congratulations on the purchase and well done sarnie -
Hi Ian, i'm in worcester and could help babysit you through this. i have not done this but its a piece of cake after fitting a start button on the zed where i had to figure out the more complex electrics on the ignition system i see no difficulties with this. I was going to do this myself but decided it's a waste of time as really i want an aftermarket double din HU with satnav. Just can spare the cash for it at the mo with all funds diverted into performance mods. I checked in maplin and you can get all the bits needed and the guide from husky is pretty easy to follow and there are additional bits or mods that others have kindly contributed to it to make it better

I dont think you need a valve because i'm think you will pressure within the breather system will be greater. My basis for ths thinking is that even those who have FI-ed the zed with no catch can and standard plenums with routing tend to see oil in the plenum and in bad cases in the intercooler so it must suggest the pressure gradient is from vent into intake Secondly the OCC design in itself is like a valve unless it is full with oil it can get back though the filter back into the crank. Just play it by ear and see what is what. I will look into my350 is anyone has a problem like this but even Djtimo who has 2 seperate OCC for both sides has no experinced or reported this. I did order 10mm fittings and even called him on the phone to clarify and he suggested he can do this( his advert suggest he can do up to 12mm). I even enquired about 15-16mm to catch the PCV vent just for extra assurance and to remotely monitor what my rings where doing because if you started to see more oil and also loose compression/ran rough then it would suggest they have cracked or something pre-catastrohic was about to happen However when the OCC cam it was 6mm. You can see he lists the zed and other nissans and evo as needing 12mm fittings I told him this and he apologised and asked me to send him pics of the machined OCC i had done and how i did it which leads me to thing they are not manufactured here So until you get yours and they are 10mm fittings donot rejoice to quickly. anyway its not too hard to machine as its ali and if you have a good machinist
-
Dave you are nuts Darren, it's a good bit of kit but I guess if you got the on eith the 12mm braket you can use a reducer to bring it down to 10mm or you will need to machine the port on the standard kit to accept a 10mm hose which is what the zed has. Donot use cheap hoses as I was amazed at how much vacuum even the engine makes in NA guise. Secondly catching the pcv side which goes into the intake tube is not necessary as there is very little oil in the blowby. I've read several threads in the states confirming this and I rechecked my TB butterfly after cleaning it and it is still pristine.

Nismo style Lip body kit offer £300 (one only)
GT4 Zed replied to Tarmac@TarmacSportz's topic in Tarmac Sportz
Good fit on the skirt. So it just a skin over the OEM skirt? It's also the beefy USDM style which I always liked. I would like need only the skirts as my N1s have been trashed by riding too low. Chris do you still need guineapigs -
I have been wanting an oil catch can for sometime but put off by the cost of a proper baffled OCC like ARC or mostly custom racing cans from a few motorsports companies here in the UK or US. I my extensive research I came across http://www.saikoumichi.com based in the states who makes one of the best custom and baffled OCC in the states but as everything is built to order with a long waiting list it takes about 4weeks from order to delivery in the UK. Then I came accross an Ebay seller who makes a cleverly designed and baffled OCC with a nice bracket and pipe clips. At £25 +£5 del (excluding pipework) it was worth a go rather than wasting money on cusco, greedy etc OCC or similar eBay copies which donot "catch" any oil and are just engine bay bling. When the OCC arrived I was very impressed and the small size and the design of the baffle/filter but realised the fitting were too small to match that of the zed. So I did not despair and took it to my local engineering shop and got it remachined to allow fitmemt of bigger ID fitting and also matched the passage ways for good flow unrestricted flow through the can. Next I got some clear tubing and bigger pipe clips and could finally install the OCC. Components as delivered from the seller. Note small diameter brass fitting. Lovely bracket. Modified with larger fittings: pics can show the internal machining with retapping new threads to match the fittings. I am always impressed with Jim(engineer) though he is very slow but always does a precison job. Close up of baffle or filter system. Its high temp microporous plastic. Traps the oil droplet as its squeezes through into the glass canister. Does not require changing To empty the OCC you just need to press the heavy duty spring loaded nipple at the bottom and collect the oil in a pan and either discard or tip it into the oil filler Ready for reassembly. Used clear pipes first to see if the outlet pipe stayed clean of oil therefore the OCC was doing its job. Preassembled: Installed and iddled for 30mins. No leaks all good. You can see the discolouration from oil on the clear pipe from breather vent into the OCC. also noticed the clear tubing softens with heat and tends to collapse as the revs rise since the intake builds very strong vacuum. After aprox 1k miles: first it works! Secondly the outlet pipe is clean. Close up of inlet and outlet pipes: Clean outlet. Dirty inlet!. See outlet pipe in background Final install with With proper high pressure/temp hose: I have run the inlet pipe long so it cools the vented vapours and helps to precipitate it into droplets and make the filter/ baffle even more effect. That's the theory See hope the bracket is installed. Looks OEM and does not interfere with anything. To remove any confusion. On the left is the OCC outlet which goes into the port of the kinetix ssv plenum. For those with OEM plenum it's at the left lower front part of the lower pleum collector. The pipe on the right is the OCC inlet pipe and it's from the breather vent. On the OCC is an arrow which reminds you of which OCC port is in and out:)). Impressions: It works Fitted like OEM using the PAS bracket. Caught about 3-5mls of oil in 1k mile keeping my plenum clean and improving engine combustion and therefore power. I am satisfied that I will keep my vortech IC oil free which is not uncommon And finally even including experimenting/purchasing the pipework, pipe clips, washers/bolt and machining, it's all cost about £60(way cheaper, smaller than ARC or the custom stuff I found) and it's been fun actually proving it works. I would be willing to do a small run of 5-10 OCC for those who want this and take out the headaches as I know exactly what is required to fit this in the zed It would be delivered: -OCC purchased from seller and machined with the correct brass fittings installed with high temp RTV sealant( not ptfe tape as done by seller) -pipework(1m lenght plain black reinforced oil/fuel hose like I used - only .5m required if routed like I did). Can get various colors of reinforced silicon at small extra cost if needed. -pipe fitting(x4) and a guide where/how to install the bracket and the whole kit. Should be doable for £50/55 delivered UK mainland depending on numbers. If there is interest I'll run a GB. If you want to buy bling stuff like the cusco's or other branded bling or Ebay replica cans that are not baffled and donot catch nada do so knowingly. See below a pic contributed by a member here of a bling type cusco OCC. its never caught any oil and you can clearly see both pipe are oil stained as the vapour just pass through. Secondly the tube gauge will be a source of vacuum leak especially if boosted!!
