You donot need the sensor as the flange is on the housing and is a Hitachi type adaptor. The tube will have to be 3" to match the TB size. The vortech tubes vary in size as a compromise for space and the smaller OEM MAF housing size which I believe is 2.5". You can make the flange adapter tall to increase voltage spread on the sensor so you use the OEM MAF sensor but really most people would use an uprated MAF sensor so it's pointless. The only extra thing you would need is a fit tube would be a 2.5" to 3" coupler. In any case I have done enough research as I was going to make a custom one and only want to help. WRT material aluminum would be best as its easier to mandrel bend than SS. This is also the opinion of specialist I contacted at Autosports show.

He only needs the housing mate!

I'm still using my UTEC on my REVUP for now with 4 Maps and a map selector switch for on the fly switching. Don't know who to post them but you are free to try. It made 270.1whp(316fwhp) on the most aggressive map with an AEM CAI, Motordyne spacer and MREV 2, japspeed y pipe and K1(with bungs on - lost 20hp with bungs off!!!) I will be selling this off cheap soon for someone else to enjoy on their zed.

Will be posting up some for sale soon when I can take pics and work out what they are worth so keep your eyes open

*Custom Anodised Plenum Spacers* £170 (next batch March)

Agreed this will take less time, but can't start anything till next week. I've found a supplier for materials and they'll fabricate the entire item. Just need a spare MAF! (In fact may as well post a thread) I have ordered a MAF adapter just in case this never got ready in time but this will arrive maybe in 1-2 weeks. I can lend you my MAF tube if you plan to do it soon but I need to know how long they would need it for. It is essential that you bolt the tube on the car (TB end) with the MAF attached and everything hose coupled as per Vortech instructions before you send it off. This will ensure the right orientation and therefore fitting. It not a biggie if its slightly off as you can compensate with adjusting the silicon couplers. But I would only make 1 for a trial fit first before full production runs. -

Nice Which brand of polished thanks are those? I prefer them to the weapon R tanks. -
Looking for plastic end caps to cap off my zed tube as I want to vent the LHS tube to atmosphere via a filter. Also looking to cap off the head lights washers hose as I no longer have them with the V2 bumper. I'm sure a few of you have done this

Nicely done chap!! Now stop lazying about and get on with the strafe tube tube! Should take less time -
Excellent job again from the RT crew again I hope to get my zed there some day. Not keen on white wheels. Was perfect in black I would have painted the faux rear diffuser too in matte black to make it appear like the real deal or even Cardin wrap it. Anyway what counts is that Peter's zed stands out now to match the power and he's pleased with it.
-
I did this on my k1 waaaay back! Used normal matt spray can paint from halfrauds after passing over lightly with grit paper. never cracked or came off. Mind you my zed was tuned to run rich at the top on my UTEC so the exhaust cokes quite a bit and maintained the paint.
-
Hahahaha! Another one bites the dust!!!!! Hi Robbo you would not be the first to swap the cables the wrong way round Post some pics so we can point the gaff or trying reswaping some cables again. The rear cylinders are the usual culprits.
-
Nice one Chris, you got us all fooled but with Bob you never know would be next!!!!!!!!!!! So what's this project about? (says this while rubbing hands with glee and anticipation)

Mate(OP)there are pros and cons to everything. Most of the advice is valid but on balance you would have a good trip and fun. Do your research a decide how you want to play it. My recommendation would be to drive there in your zed and take out a rental car from Rent 4 Ring or RSR. I wouldn't trust much else. Do half a day and you can get some tuition. It's cheap relatively. You can pay to reduce the excess considerably. Dale @ R4R is English is very helpful and would help out. You can then do some laps with the zed if you feel comfortable and it's in order mechanically or go back when you are ready and have caught the bug. I have done the ring now since 2007 and probably racked about ~400-500 laps( not counting) and I have had a few moments but no crashes. Overall it's the best fun I've had in any driving scenario and will recommend it to anyone at least once in their life. Have fun:)

Hey Addy, sorry I missed your call but this thread is very informative and would help anyone who is planning sc-ing or even those who have this installed. Good you got the kit. I can't believe it didn't go sooner. Eg the fitting advisory provided by Sam is invaluable and I will be addressing this when installing my kit. From my research and talking with Mark @ abbey This are my supporting parts list. My kit. Vortech V2 T trim tuner kit polished 2.87 pulley I hope I have enough money left to pc the whole it black for stealthness EXTRA PARTS: 1. FUEL RETURN SYSTEM AAM Competition 350Z Stage 1 Fuel Return Kit OR AAM Competition 350Z Basic FRS OR CJM Stage 1 Return Fuel System Kit OR CJM Stage 0 Return Fuel System I prefer CJM and going for the stage 0 will upgrade to stage 1 with dampers only if I go forged someday. 2. INJECTORS: Injector Dynamics 725Cc OR DeatschWerks 600cc Top Feed Injectors Mark uses both frequently but prefers the IDs so I'd go with that. I just hate that they are not plug and play like the DWs. 3. FUEL PUMP Aeromotive Stealth 340LPH In Tank Fuel Pump with Setup Kit is my choice but the DW 300 pump is an option and the Walbro 255 should be fine. 4. INTERCOOLER: Turbonetics Spearco 24x7.9x 3.5. For me. Same height and core as the standard vortech cooler only 4 inches wider core. So will fit with retained crash bar. 5. OIL PAN SPACER AAM COMPETITION 350Z ENGINE OIL PAN SPACER OR JWT JIM WOLF TECHNOLOGY OIL PAN SPACER W/ PORT 350Z Either would be fine provide about an extra litre of oil and cheaper than the other fancy stuff. I have AAM. 6. 1 STEP COLDER SPARK PLUGS HKS 50003-M40HL Iridium M-Series Super Fire Racing Spark Plugs Ill go with these as Mark prefers them. 7. GAUGES - A/F, BOOST, OIL TEMP Not a fan of any gauges other than OEM. Pointless. I'll rather spend more on a perfect tuning solution with active fail safes rather than watch passive gauges. 8. OIL COOLER WITH THERMOSTAT Setrab 19 row cooler with Aeroquip -10 AN fittings and HEL -10 lines. Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate 9. OIL CATCH CAN : http://www.350z-uk.c...sted-and-prov Yup that's the one 10. LOW TEMPERATURE THERMOSTAT Mishimoto stat. 11. UPGRADED RADIATOR: Gone with Mishimoto with fans shroud and larger 12' fans. 12. FLUIDS ENGINE: Any fully synthetic oil will be fine. 5w30 or 5w 40 I stopped using Motul 300v too pricey. Been happy with Gulf competition (oilman recommended) with my oil cooler and lines and spacer I require 6.7l now and would expect to need about 7l factoring the SC and lines. GEARBOX: Redline MT 90 . Best for the GB. I have tried all! I'm about to try the Redline lightweight shock proof oil for anIy of track use protection. 2.9l needed REAR DIFF: Motul, gulf or silkolene. Used all no issues. 1.2L 13. OIL FILTER. I hate the OEM vortech mushroom filter and would do the CAI mod like Sam mcgoo did but will use the Apexi cone filter. Don't forget CLUTCH/BRAKES/COOLANT Always used Motul RBF 660 and Motul coolant. All available from Opie. 14. ENGINE DAMPER Stillen Dampener. My choice too. In galls to expensive. I also added the torque solutions transmission mount and make the gear action riffle precise and take away the OEM sloppiness. I'm sure the short shifter also helps. 15. STAINLESS STEEL CLUTCH LINE I got HEL for about 2yrs now so no complaints. Cheaper to. CS stock these. 15.Cosworth Twin Plenum Inlet. Personally I think it too much money for little benefit. I got a used Kinetic SSV for £300! MD plenum spacer would be ok IMO. Plus MRE2 for those with revup engines. TUNING MAF sensor : MAF GT if tuning with Uprev. I'm still to decide which tuning solution to go with. But I have to say I fancy the Syvecs S6. Just waiting on Mark to address the revup/ HR specific issue which should be surmountable MISCELLANEOUS I have gone for these for peace of mind. I'll add the links to these later. - Replace all IC worm clamps with T bolt clamps - Complete uprated Z1 motorsports silicon hoses kit. - Pathfinder coolant mode. - 928 BLV to limit my boost at my chosen target. - Custom made "strafe auto" intake tube - Fluidampr crank pulley -
I'd go for the Mishimoto fan with shroud. I not heard any nasty stories about them. Getting them for my Sc. where did you read about this Ian? You can get it from Mishimoto UK for 150 quid. However if you go OEM then get 2 new ones rather that replace the damaged one only. What a pain Addy!

That's a good deal on a T trim new (or used) though it does not look new. I paid 1g more for my V2 T trim but it had 2.5k on it certified by the race shop that installed it. A tuner kit should come with the IC btw. You also need to specify if this is revup or non- revup as the brackets are not interchangeable. I would lay up all the components for clarity. Sub 5k is doable for a simple safe build. Just need: - 600cc injector - basic RFS - walbro pump - Uprev lience/tuning - ported oil pan spacer(to run SC lines and extra cooling) -and if you've got to by the IC it not going to break the bank. In fact I would have mind for sale soon as I'm upgrading to a larger one ) Someone snap it up fast!!!

Me like! Different and tastefully done.

Happy birthday old man!! Hihihihii!
