  1. Octet what could you possibly want??? You have all you stuff in my house :) or is spenditis zeditis kicking in again? Need to keep an eye on you mate.
  2. Nice parts. Got the stage 0 but maybe interested in this for the right price
  3. No it wouldn't you've made up your mind already. Let me put it this way: It is doable and done right will be trouble free. However if it cost 2.5k to do it you would have to be driving silly miles to recoup the cost and then start to save so it pointless. If you think the tuning costs are too much then it's curtains band aids don't work. But if you really want to reduce fuel costs then consider a cheap option like the D1 throttle controller and maybe an Uprev reflash to have a map to run 95ron fuel safely. This will only cost around 500-600 quid. But it's not like you are going to go from 25-50mpg which returns to my initial point.
  4. Sorry to hear this but hope he makes a full recovery with minimal brain injury sequelae. Never give up!! Our prayers are with him. I think you should keep the car and complete it for he sake. If you give up then his spirit will give up too. Keep us informed and feel free to request for help or expertise or parts as there are many here with extra lying around. You can make a list of what's needed to complete the job. Regards
  5. "Not F******g laughing now are ya!!!" :) that was class!!!!! Good progress there boys. Keep it coming!
  6. Hi Ray, No experience with this but reviews look favourable and since you had a good experience with the RSR then I would say go for it and give us feedback I want to run semi slicks this year but don't want to lay through the nose! This is the one negative running large 19" tyres/ wheel combo.
  7. Saw the roadster in RTP while it was getting worked on. Taras and his team know their stuff without a doubt.
  8. I got the same setup as Peter allied to a short shifter and its perfect. I think the gates look good but in practice it could be a nightmare and may just be a hindrance for quick shifting.
  9. Shame indeed Harry but thanks for putting this together. But surely 7 names should have been enough to clenched a deal as will be very good exposure to drum up future sales😎
  10. Slippery slope! It all depends on loads of factors, eg new vs used kit and support mods, installation cost, shipping and duty costs, tuning options and tuning cost. Service and refresh of various components during and after FI, insurance etc So estimate between 5k -10k minimum. Yeah buying a custom FI'ed car will be cheaper but I would never feel easy unless I have proof it was well done or if not i'll take it down and reassemble to check every not and bolt and adjust things to my liking so it made add on the original costs and mean there is no real difference. FI is expensive and risky but the rewards are
  11. From he post and angle sounds like he is liking for a DD tyre. I maybe wrong. What kind of mileage did you get out of the R888s Dan? I know if I got them I'll just end up pushing even more and they will not last but nice to know from one nutter to another
  12. No you did not look hard enough. My first search got this: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+RE050A For worth it's worth the RE050 was te upgraded OEM tyre on the 350z from the RE040. So go with it. However the thing with tyres is there is a big variation between subjective and objective performance and so it's hit and miss but you can't go wrong with either 050s, or MPS 2/SS. I'm sure the ultra high performance spec tyre for the other big brands like Pirelli p zero, contisport or yoko advan will be worth their salt too but going to a semi slick tyre like R888 is fraught with risks as a DD. - poor wet weather grip - poor longevity - poor temperature range especially on heavy car like the zed - price To list a few.
  13. If I doubt go flat out I live by his mantra and never looked back since. Superb documentary and emotional. He could and should have won more championships.
  14. If you are a chip off the old block you will be at home here especially in Wales. Your dad was a good man and very friendly. We will miss him but I'm sure he will be there in spirit to look after us all. Accept my sincere condolences. See you soon.
  15. Hahaha! Thanks Ian for answering on my behalf! I would recommend replacing all the bushes on your car like I've done especially with more power and track driving in mind. . It's night and day. Yes my suspension is hardly standard but because I did the bushes last it was noticeable and just made everything work better and together. To this I mean more responsive, sharper, taut and precise for whatever setting I have dialled on the coilovers, ARBs or control arms. Cornering is flat without roll or wallow and I sure the ps2 also help to improve feel and grip but I feel they work better. I went for Superpro items and energy suspension for those areas not covered by Superpro. I think Superpro is over all better quality but for a budget conscious mind the ES kit will be fine all round. When I replace the steering rack bushes it will be complete. Dazza, Tim if we next meet you can drive and see for yourself. So main positive is improved handling/steering feel and response. Also the suspension geometry is maintained. Unlike with OEM bushes when you get a different reading each time on the laser alignment post even on the same day. Tire wear has improved IMO but that's subjective and last year was quiet from the trackday front. Negatives; slightly more NVH but you get used to and that becomes normal. I only notice the difference when I drive a standard car which feel wolly and strange. TBH I think the engine damper, urethane transmission mount and subframe bushes are the culprits rather than the suspension bushes. Surprisingly there are no squeaks or squeals. Both kits come with silicon grease which I used generously but not everywhere so can say if this make a difference. Finally, I think is always a slippery slope when you start messing with the suspension as it can always be improved. I want clubsports KWs now and if possible swap everything for SPL solid bushes and rose jointed arms but this is a dream. I should have gone for it in the first place but I was too worried the car will be harsh like a race car but the feedback from chaps in the states it's not so bad and if anything you can set more soft because the whole geo works rather than go hard to cover up for corner roll or wallow but sacrifice ride comfort and ultimately grip.
  16. +1 Not the best news but that's the attitude to take and that's what I've done for ages and enables me to enjoy my cars fully.
  17. Is it just spacers and fittings in the boxes or have you added a box of chocolates too
  18. Any commemoration will be a nice touch. Nice one Sarnie.
  19. Nice one RTB! I reckon a pre and post dyno run will be an objective comparison too. WRT pricing I have no idea but if its sub £100 I'll give it a go before installing my SC
  20. Anyone tried this? Had a chat on their stand at autosports international. It seems a good idea but not all good ideas are beneficial as we all know http://www.terraclean.co.uk/
