  1. It's always a good idea to do the idle volume reset when fitting mods that increase the manifold volume eg spacer, aftermarket upper plenum etc to ensure a smooth idle.
  2. Good work lads Its nice to see that the zed shed can get some serious work done that dies not involve a can of spray paint  In all seriousness it's an amazing Christmas present to a fellow zedder and may this spirit continue to grow with this community!
  3. Look again SOB !!! Damn predictive text!!@#%!!!
  4. Change of plans !!!! Why don't you keep them for the GTR?
  5. I understand that you are going this route to save cash but what I meant was if you have bought a used engine and plan to strip it to put new gaskets, seals etc then you may as well for about the same labour add low comp forged pistons and rods, race bearings and uprated fasteners to get a very solid engine to take bigger boost and last longer. You can offset the cost of these internals by getting them from the states cheaper and also skipping out non-performance modifications like lightweight pulleys, retractable number plates ( which BTW will not fit with the intercooler in place!) and other cosmetic mods you are planning as you can do these later when the car is up and running. The advantage of low compression especially if you have dodgy fuel in Iceland is obvious. You plan to run 6psi which means getting another larger SC pulley and though it is will be safer overall than 9-10psi on the standard engine it's still can blow up leaving you in the same position. Do it nice or do it twice comes to mind.
  6. Personally I don't think that you need to reinforce anything using an aftermarket true rear coilover system designed for the zed.eg the HSD. They use way softer springs springs to start with to overcome the issue. However if you were running a custom rear coilover system eg for racing or drifting that then boom you will break something.
  7. Nice build and plans but I'm at a loss to understand why you did not take the opportunity to build a stronger engine bottom end now that you have the engine out? A forged low compression piston and rods set (eg wiseco), new bearings, uprated gaskets, rev up oil pump, new water pump and ARP main and head bolts will get you an engine that will safely handle more more and last a long time with the supercharger fully exploited. Secondly lightweight crank pulley set is a bad idea especially for FI. Stay OEM or buy a harmonic balanced pulley eg Fluidampr. I don't know how humid it is in Iceland but I have a full AC delete with my SC set up and I have no problems with dehumidification here in the UK and is difficult to say if the car revs faster as I did it sametime as the Vortech but I regretted not having AC in summer as some days were so hot!! I'm putting it back! WRT cooling I'm sure there is some benefit but if you have an oil cooler, low temp thermostat and bigger radiator like I do then there is not more to gain from deleting the AC. There is no significant weight gain unless you remove the compressor which is quite heavy. Hope every thing goes well for you.
  8. Sam that is proper diagnostic trouble shooting and I'm so relieved for you that it was not anything major! Nissan would have been clueless! I had a little scare myself starting my car after it been at RTP for some much needed cosmetic work. It was really rough and power was way off. I suspected either a small boost leak in case the pipes may have been moved during taking the bumper off or a dirty MAF or TB as fibre glass/ filler/paint laden dust gathers in the body shop amazingly. Quick check of IC pipes, vacuum hoses etc was fine so removed the MAF and it was then MAF check and it was coated with a crust of dust! After multiple blast with electrical cleaner it was clean as a whistle and the car runs perfect with the rumble of the new exhaust. Didn't bother to clean the TB but will later as part if my big start of year service. BTW what Kinetix do you have? I know the SSV V1 had issues which was addressed with the V2 that I have. The welds are solid so I'm curious.
  9. I prefer old school race method too but this kit is among the best so well done Abbey. Lets know when it's installed and running MarkðŸ‘
  10. Bob you have a very rare case of zeditis!!!! I like the aggressive look👠How is your light output now? Honestly😉
  11. Shut your face ipolish Maybe you can come around to learn some handy skill for when you go LSx
  12. Sorry to hear this terrible news mate! Hopefully you get supported by the dealer who seem genuine so far. Looking at all the cars having issues recently I'm not so sure it's just running low on oil that's the I culprit but probably oil pump failure as the cars are getting older.
  13. Hi Ryan, also watched it and enjoyed it as the rest of the saga but it was a bit long winded I thought with some scenes dragging on forever almost as if the were struggling to get it to last over 2.5hrs only for it to end in a blatant anticlimax as if to say you got no choice " wait for the sequel"
  14. Hoppy boff deey Mr K!! Hope you relive your youth like this chap as its down hill from here
  15. I have changed All bushes on my car to polyurethane and though the factory rubber bush are mushy and designed for comfort the only perished bushes were the various suspension arms in board and out board bushes with the banana arm being the worst. The rear subframe and diff bushes had only age related changes but they fail eventually. Tell tale black silicon goo oozing from the rear diff bush👀 Without a doubt swapping to poly bushes makes a hell of a difference to the handling so go for it. It's easy, cheap and you can DIY with help from at least one person.
  16. No serious interest so far
  17. Nice but pics are poor!
  18. I just bought something parts again from the US as crimbo prezzies for the zed's. Some arrived yesterday and the rest leaving this Friday or early next week to be here before Xmas. I had been wanting the famous Motordyne exhaust for sometime but couldn't stand the 4-6 week wait as they are built to order. It happens that my US contact has one which is a cancelled order and has offered it to me at a good price. I have just got myself an invidia Gemini so can't get this too:( but I'm willing to pass this opportunity to someone else here to get it at a very good price. Please contact me if seriously interested. Mods hope this is ok here as its not a sale thread per se.
