  1. Not being the Devils advocate but these figures all dated and donot apply as modern cars have moved on a lot. The statistics are clear speeding is coincidental in some accidents. The majority is the usual distraction with phones etc, drink driving, bad driving practices etc. I think in restricted areas it is imperative to respect the speed limit and even go under but on motorways, sighted A/B roads it should be variable and have derestriction when conditions permit. That's what happens in Germany and many other European countries and they have better stats than us. The other facet would be to improve driver training as in keeping with Germany and Scandinavian countries as this will make the biggest impact. Just think for a second that a newly qualified driver will never have driven on the motorway or at a reasonable rate of speed or experienced oversteer or understeer due to adverse weather conditions. What do you think will happen when the @*!# hits the fan? This doesn't only apply to new drivers as there is as the majority are unsafe and clueless. I don't want to even get on the issue of the 70mph speed limit that was set following no scientific basis but the economics of fuel shortage. It just appears to me that instead of moving forwards we are regressing and breeding a generation of spineless twunts that are unable to think for themselves and devoid of common sense and initiative and they have to be guided like robots in everything that they do so much so that anything from the norm as they know it is heinous and abominable. I don't condone reckless driving and that's where I stand. Everything else is merely perspective. 2p
  2. +1 and amen. You took it exactly out of my mouth.
  3. Gareth with the M3 in the fleet I have had to invest in petrol shares! So with all you lot SC-ing at this rate I'll be rich😈
  4. Looking real good GM👠What's tge deal with those depo lights? Does it retain the xenon? Single or bixenon? What's the output like? Can you adjust the throw to UK spec? Your overall feedback would be appreciated.
  5. GT4 Z or GT4 zed. Same difference so I went for the later. Always wanted to change for more creative but could not come up with something better. @ Ekona; I had always assumed you pinched the handle after a small town in Cameroon famous for advance agricultural research. They did weird stuff like grafting oranges, lemon and other citrus fruits from the same three🙀
  6. Really don't see what you(op) want the garage to say or do further. It is clearly human error as those bolts never work loose and if anything requires some force to undo them. I change all my fluids at least once yearly so I know. The response was std speak without actually admitting fault. The offer to fit the lower rubber gaitor is a subtle way to acknowledge this and apolog. Anything else is faffing and a waste of time in your part.
  7. Has that piece of junk blown up yet SOB?
  8. AFAIK just for the 350z. I think the pick up point design is different on the Z34 though fundamentally the outlay is the same.
  9. Teins are still up for sale.
  10. Abbey Horsham :scare: As already said. Gains are gains. You have to decide the worth and cost to yourself.
  11. thanks for the advice i have done the mods on the vortech belt with a new gates heavy use and with adicional two pulleys near the vortech pulley, no slip at all. intercooler not a problem meth keep down the internal temp. Aha, missed the fact you have meth. What are planing to tune with? UPrev or standalone ECU?Personally I would avoid meth injection and use water only if AITs are high but it's just easier to spec an appropriate intercooler. Reduces complexity, running cost and the need to get a steady meth supply. The same reason I would not use n2o. I have the mega efficient treadstone TR1245 intercooler which is rated over 1000hp. I also know somebody using it and pushing out 760whp with the Vortech V7 sc and no meth. His AITs are just a few degrees over ambient and he has no issues even on track/gymkhana. In anycase whatever works for you it will be interes to follow your buildðŸ‘
  12. Nice parts list Alex. 10.3:1 CR is equal to stock CR. Should be ok as you will be making just under 500whp with the V3 if you use the 2.87 pulley. The issue you will have is keeping AITs down with a very efficient Intercooler and avoiding belt slip. The STS Vortech intercooler will not cut it. I did not get any belt slip when I upgraded my serpentine belt to the gates HD belt. Keep the build and pics coming😎
  13. Forgot about this thread completely. Don't know what happened as I'm sure I subbed when creating it. Anyways I'll keep an eye. Alex did you sort your issues? Your set up was disastrous!
  14. Maybe they never made it into production or simply they were whisked away in hiding for the second coming Just tell him will you
  15. Don't be a pessimist Dazza. I've ran a couple of alfas now with no issues. You need to buy a good one in the first place. How many cars of that era had 50:50 weight distribution, high revving and very tractable responsive engines?
  16. I fell in love with alfas through my friend who has about 20 alfas from as far back as late 60s. They were very advanced in their time and almost got killed off during the 80s when Italy was in recession and quality control and materials where overlooked but they still were very innovative. If you can get a 156 GTA 3.2l in good condition and history for a good price you will not loose a penny on it. They are going up in value and getting rare to find. My friend has been telling to get one and he is an Alfaholic and very good speculator so consider it. Another modern-ish alfa that is in the up is the 155 Q4 cloverleaf. It's the precursor of the turbo 4wd saloons exemplified by Subaru and Mitsubishi. My friend has one and it just amazing! But I doubt you will find one. If you want pure beauty and diesel then the 159 GT is the one. Also comes with petrol. Good luck with everything mate.
  17. Wasso what's cooking with the LS swap? I have been hoping to hear it was underway but seeing as I'm not here often I may have missed something. I really need some competition next year and Suzi with an LS will be wicked😎
  18. What do you mean? If your car is immobile you can still do this. I can help you do the swap if you have tools and a good quality axle stands. I can come and get off your oem parts then help you instal my bushed parts. We just need to free weekends. Give me a shout if you are serious. Pm sent
