Interesting i don't mind my Zed not indistinguishable form the rest but to only connoisseurs but at the same time a little badge like that on the derriere would have been a nice touch So i guess if you debadged the rear something like this could look .

bud and good luck -
You are going to have so much fun Ross i was apprehensive at first but i think it is the best sound for the zed with bungs on(reminds me so much of my TVR. With bungs off its armaggeddon. its like bringing your own weather along i have noticed that it is getting better as it's soothing up

Nice Ben You would have to do mine too i have never been good with photos and its about time i good the old girl some proper snaps to show off her curves BTW i think i know that location. Is that in Worcs? behind the rugby grounds

Just like i thought, though not too badly matched Most decat/HFC are 2.25" in and 2.5" out. and ypipe eg ichiba which is a nismo copy is 2.5" in both y section joinned up to a 3" single section. All the big brands a sell a 3" y-pipe back system from this point on to keep the flow unrestricted. With you set up the is a slight rerstriction with the 3" flowing into the 2.75" y-pipe back exhaust. change this even temporally and see what it does The worst scenario would be to change CATs to decats/HFC and leave it the reso OEM with is mostly 2.25 up to 2.5 Steve, I i will get HFC in anycase but i was just saying it's also worth looking at decats as a good option both from a performance and cost perspective . This is appealling especially as i know that my overall mods will cost me 1000s so i have to always entertain other options

c'mon Steve, don't be a lazy a---e! It 's car up the stands, 8 bolts each way, disconnect and reconnect the sensors, car down and only once a year I will do it for extra ponies anytime and save more good change for other mods. The evo/ scooby/RB crowd are at it so why not Have you ever changed the cats over then Bennet? I doubt it I paid a garage £60 to swap over my standard cats for some HKS hi-flows, and even with all the tools on hand, and up on the ramps above head height, it was a bugger of a job If your car is purely for the track then its a viable option, but as you use the car day in day out on the roads then it aint worth it. You'll more than likely have to do a reset every day, due to the engine check light coming on all the time. The car will be technically illegal to drive on the road, and if you had an accident and the insurance company picked up on it, you'd be fooked My car ran lovely with the hi-flows connected, it also flew the MOT, no issues whatsoever. I wish i had the car now with the set up it did have, and taken it to RS-Tuning to show you that hi-flows can give just as good gains from a reflash as decats. In summary, its against the law and too much hassle for similar gains to hi-flows. I never said it was easy to swap it. just said it can be done by yourself You don't have to reset it everyday if you have a non fouler If mapped wheel decats will make marginally more power but thats spliting atoms. Also your the supporting exhaust mods makes a difference. you should always aim to flow from small into big So if you do decats or HFC the you need to de restrict the y-pipe atleast with an aftermarket tuned one like nismo or copy of nismo(eg Japspeed, ichiba ESR) and also consider a big bore(3") y-pipe back exhaust. I am guessing this might have been the cause of loss of torque in some cases. i aggree its not legal but where is the fun? for me i would not mind the hasle if i save myself circa £400 in the process.( eg Berk HFC vs Japspeed decat = £490 vs £90 and thats the real issue

Not always true mate. Advance boking is the Key and as a group we might get a discount if chanelled properly I'm in for this as i will be going anyway but will be fun with fellow zedders

I didnt realise that you were in the trade Bennett! Looking forward to seeing other examples of your work on here in the future Hey Fiddy, I'm not in the trade bud I'm a friend of Rik and he has done really brillant jobs for my zed, other cars and friends cars:thumbs: Only in the capacity of a satisfied customer has he requested me to provide testimony and exposure to interested parties and I feel honour for the manifestation of trust. CS is his trade representative as well all know and has been serving this from with kits from Prestige styling for a long time now.

Not after I have sampled your zed and heard your fully review do you know you can buy damper control extensions so you can adjust the rear within the strut brace hidden underneath the plastic covers? you need ARBs and endlink and you are done
-
gosh Bullet you are right what a keen eye we paid attention to the fronts, refering the fitting manual and obviously became complacent when we got to the rears Will can that Asap as it says brake cooling and performance can be affected cheers bud
-
Chris All the BBKs are car specific which is why the fitting is so precise They do 12pot/10pot or 8pot in front and 6pot rears and offer 330mm to 400mm discs for the zed. i just chose both disc 356 for aesthetic reasons. you are right about the bias being maintained by the 8 vs 6 pot front to rear but also this is inherent in the mechanics of the braking system so identical front and rear may not be an issue I Could have gone 356/330mm as most people and save a few bob, but where is the fun in that. Steve " having your own portable brick wall club" is so apt to describe the stopping

Its a UK myth I seen hundreds of dyno printout staeside with only gais to show for! The only thing to worry about is the smells, rossers/MOT and tthe noise if the you prefer quiet and most important that you have to swap to OEM cats to pass the MOT Invest in an axle stand and hyraulic jack(under £ 60 from Halfrauds) and do it yourself and it will be useful for other mods etc Or visit you local dodgy garage to falsify the emissions report or do the swap themselves Afterall its only once a year
-
Just saw your reply only now and its made my night Thats why the OEM box is better because the plastic insulates the charge air to. i will heat wrap both zed tube and manifold as the engine bay aesthetic is not my aim The cryo systems will cost way too much wonga for some measly BHP return in NA tune
-
Ok mate we have a deal and a date
-
Yup I don't care about the hours put in. this guy should be caught and neutered for such sacrilege

Have you got the Sticker yet? and i did not get your reply on the querry i had for the invoauto CAI

A SET OF WHEEL SPACERS FOR SALE. 20+20+5+5 ***SWAP
GT4 Zed replied to givememorepower's topic in For Sale
I would be interested in the 5mm spacers if you still have them. post some pics will you. Rawbhp is alos after some 20mm spacers -
Hmmmmmm could be. however i would have thought maybe 2 secs a lap at the max! But remember it is lighter, more powerful and shorter/wider wheel base with better suspension and brakes than the VQ53DE zed with 276 BHP;). A fare comparison would be the with the Revup DE or HR engined zeds with 300+bhp
