Scotty, i knew it would come through fine and really happy for you. my offer still stands but i have to clear up a few things as i have made to many commitments for the zed last month so i need a couple of days to see how the dust settles before engaging you but be assured that i will stand to my promise cheers

Hi Scott, just logged in now after avery long day at work ! first of all very well done with the plenum It looks a quality part and would in my opinion exceed the performance of the oem one i have read many different views here some harsh, some right, some wrong but i think that in general there is an overreaction and overexpectation of your plenum I aggree that it is reasonable to request you to demonstrate that within reasonable use daily and social evnts e.g ocasional track days the plenum will be competent and last for a resonable time But some of the testing criteria mentioned here though right if you were HKS or the likes are completely ludicrous. I for one will be willing to run this plenum for you in all possible real life conditions incuding dynos and give feedback and reasurance to the forum in general and specifically to those who are really interested the plenum. CF in this application and construct would be very strong and durable and the last issue you will get is with temperature or cracking. A smooth gelled/resin underside will be a good idea to prevent splintering in the unlikely event that it breaks and also smoothen the intake airflow but i will venture that the charge temps will be significantly lower and that this plenum combined with a full lenght CF CAI will be the best ever intake mode Unless you have some independent scientific body come tests your plenum in controlled and then real life conditions the doubters will never be satisfied and this will never fly so your line should be that once purchased the product will be replaced within a warranty period or at your discretion there after if defective or fails, but you will have no responsibility for any secondary dammage caused to an engine as a result such failures to the plenum So it will be clear that any buyer know that they are taking all responsibility for their engine and you for your product only. I have seen this on a few items in various guises eg the Nismo R tune headers which invalidated your nissan manufacturer warranty you would think that this should be the case as it was produced by the NISMO and that they would have properly tested it etc! So If you need a guinea pig then give me a shout anytime mate

Patience Scotty it will all come good Have you got any feedback after our conversation? very interested in this as expected

Mate, like said before in this thread, if your light comes on too often then it's either your tyres, suspension, geometry or even driving style that is the cause. go methodically through each variable ESP off or on is a matter of choice rather than consensus On track i have it off but most fast road work ON and unless i need to show boat and hang out the a--e a bit Tyres are the most important upgrades on the zed for fast road and to that add suspension and brakes if you do track work and your zed will be transformed! But either way the right tyre pressures and geometry is a must Finally, always go for the best on those items mentioned if you can because that's what you get! so for me its Michelin's PS2s everytime
-
Nope mate but thanks for the offer The Flex is a good unit but it's more street than track(100% v 50%)! the RS is 80% v 60% ( street v track ) which is perfect, but i really want a 90-100% track unit with some streetability

GT4 Zed replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in 350Z General
Hi mark, Chris I and Beavis are quite correct except that in the US when the 296 ecu was remapped with the MREVs and MD it made up and more the midrange it lost to the 276 and kept the top end advantage i am based on the M5 as i live between plymouth and worcester and i have been planning a visit but don't want to come empty-handed Would like to have everything on the car so we can compare all variables cheers Bennett -
10hours that is some lazy arse mechanic you will be smiling like the proverbial cheshire cat when you put the zed on the RR I'm not sure about making ace cafe but if i do make it, it will be the perfect opportunity to hear your music PS. the lights should not stop you from comming! worse case scenario is you will run rich ££££ i ran like this for weeks and even put the car on an RR
-
not to worry mate. get non foulers from alex and clear codes and all will be fine. the cel and slip lights come up when the ecu is overwhelmed with to many error codes thrown at it typical example is after a rolling road the same happens because the ecu gets confused as the rear wheels are rotating while the fronts are static so it throws up christmas lights which go away as soon as you drive for a few mters and stop and restart the car a sound clip will help us understand your new "predicament"! how long did you or garage take to fit the headers? any problems encountered?
-
Fitting the headers youself? which ones? Will go for these myself when the wallets gets a breather

GT4 Zed replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in 350Z General
Hey Ian, that's not entirely true i made 276Hp and 260llft in weston (with an engine checklight that had been there for over a week ) and was disappointed because i had just put the MREV2 as only performance mod. though the was a nice low to mid range poke of torque probably due to the MREV2 Anyway i later on found out that i was running rich and the O2 sensors where knackered. Once these was replaced with bosch items and later had my full exhaust system, Short ram the car made 292HP and 270llft at Alan Jeffery engineering plymouth (also dynodynamic rollers). i have got some more stuff (HFC, y-pipe etc) on the car and still have to put the MD Spacer and race manifold before i run it again on the roller again. Then i'll run it with the Utec for a final definitve comparison. Don't think i wll go FI after all As WRT the difference between both 276 and 296 which i have both owned, i can sum it as follows; 276(unmodified) - Eager to please low down and midrange ( still not as pokey as one would have expected from a 3.5 V6) runs out at very top when you are just about to expect armageddon otherwise an all round good car 296 (Unmodified) makes you work hard to get it meanifull low down poke.....so reluctant if you don't give it the beans!!!! but its on a class of its own from 3500k-4K up to redline..... 3-4 gear A/B rods are dispatched with authority and you feel like a racer and so the the car.....was made for those who wanted more but Nissan fell a tad short and so i when to work on the short commings... (Post modifications) The MREV 2 certainly bumps up the low-mid range shenanigans and the combo of intake and exhaust mods makes mid-top end more manic and a happy place you want to stay at until you remember your petrol bills and .....licence are at stake. I suspect strongly and from good authority that when all this it tuned up together with the UTEC there will more to be had I am in with my zed now because it is the car it should have been it the first place with more power(though 350-400hp would have been perfect), better brakes and suspension and purposeful exterior modifications Long live zeddom -
Steve, nice one to post feedback! you've done well and made us proud keep us entertained and dreaming
