  1. FOC? I am guessing full on collision? I wasn't there so cant give intricate details but as far as I am aware the trck driver reversed into the front so not that bad = bad enought though I would like to go for the Amuse - looking expensive though so will have to see how it pans out! I was referring to the XKR You seemed intrigued about something so i was wondering if you had read the small print and found out that it was not FOC (Free Of Charge) Why are you worried about the cost of the Amuse. Isn't it being paid for? Just cheek the price of the OEM Nissan bumper and check with Chilli who has special discounts for AFAIK Shine Amuse copies and charged the truck drive or his insurer with the "help" of your garage This are always the opportunity to mod your car for little outlay
  2. Impressive stuff Zedrush. Keep up the good work Ok .................. i had just read his post before this one
  3. Don't say it was never FOC Anyway are you going with the Amuse bumper? i would have gone for this if i had seen Paul Ts zed first. Its really aggressive and evil in combo with the eyelids! anyway go luck with everything
  4. Steve, i wrote tghe DTV post and this issue is not and EBC problem but one common to all brakes. The advice to check DTV before putting new pads or discs or both is valid and is used by the big boys at Porsche, ferrari, lambo etc! With new cars everything is within tolerance and is usually not a problem but as the car gets older the is uneven wear everywher and so to check DTV and skimming if there is runout caters for individual cars in particular and gaurantees a bespoke "fit". otherwise you can just gamble it and wait for it to happen if at all it does happen to your zed. People have had this with oem setup for ages and off course nissan or your local garage usually claim there has been warping and recommend buying new discs and or pads when a simple skim on car would have sorted the issue for good. True warping hardly happens with modern discs and its just an overrated word!
  5. Hey Simon, i did not think it you were laying blame but just felt you were being too hard on yourself for an issue that is easily resolved Anyway thanks for clearing things up Kirsten Dunst .............are you blind ...................what is wrong with rubbing Megan fox PS: +1 on the bumper tuck i can sort it for you if you are passing through worcester any of these days
  6. Pimm................its not only about offset you know You might want to use very wide tyres or even have the car really low as i do for trackwork. Anyway its obvious that you have a fixed opinion about arch rolling or the story so i I have 295/30/19 tyres, combined ET15 and lowered to 35mm with no rubbing I had similar slight rubbing before archwork and could have got also rid of it with increasing negative camber but i was running -2.5 degrees already and did not want to go beyond this as it would result in acelerated inner tyre wear and and annoying tramlining on straights.
  7. not necessarily true it depends on how and who has rolled them. if don badly you can split the paint and allow it to flack, hence letting in the elements and then the rust starts. That goes without saying Rich as with everything , and i meant with everything being equal arch rolling is safe I did mine over 6-7 months ago and one side is rusting while the other is fine The affected side had rust from the outset and was even evident while rolling. Archenemy have a good reputation and so i used them and would recommend them here.
  8. It is unfair to say you will have to put up with the slight rubbing Simon To achieve the stunning look you have now, i advised on the most aggressive wheel offset of the choices you had, tyre width and tyre profile and they look super cool on your zed as everyone who has seen them says . I disagree with going for the 30mm offset and using spacers Spacers should be used as a last resort rather a substitute for proper fitting wheels and anyway 30 would have been too far in still. i have always maintained between 15-25 depending on the tyres is usually perfect but you can go for super aggresive if you are prepared to be flexible in making things fit Going for smaller width will not give you the same matched sidewall height between front and rear and cost way more than the fix required The rubing issues is only a few millimeteres in it as is evident with barely a mark on the tyres and there are two solutions to get rid of it. Roll the arches or get adjustable camber arms and dial more neg camber you will only need to go in by .25 or .5 of a degree to eliminate the rubbing and at the sametime improve rear end grip. Rolled arches donot cause rusting unless you have rust in your arches already However, I would prefer the adjustable arms solution as it also future proofs you in case lower the car on at a later date
  9. Hey Rich you beat me to the rim protector mate It looks really nice as i expected but i may have to go for a different colour now to be different It sets off the whole wheel a la CE28N time attack but i'm not a fan of the red lug nut or tommy k centers......to busy and a different shade that makes the gold callipers standout oddly even more:dry: I reckon black lug nuts, plain black or CF centers and black callipers with red lettering will look spot on or alternatively as someone mentioned BS callipers might be a brave option too Keep up the good work
  10. Dont worry too much about this as you will have to really slam the car to the floor to create a negative effect 20 to 30mm will be fine and give you sufficient cleararnce for sleep policemen start by lowering both front and the rear the same height say 25mm and make small adjustment depending on the feedback you get from driving her in a mixed variety if conditions noting the behaviour on braking, cornering and lift off in particular I am set up as 30mm infront and 35mm at the rear but i will be raising the rear to 30mm soon as its too low for everyday driving
  11. Very nice and rare to see a sunset droptop Its stunning mate but IMHO there is too much orange going on with the interior vs the body colour I can swap your orange for my black leather interior FOC its heated electic seats off course and in good condition
  12. They say "righty tighty lefty loosey" so clockwise means stiffer. The best way is to just start from halfway between hardest and softest and decide which direction to go after driving a nice A or B road to form your impressions. to create a neutral handling car or slightly oversteery, it is a complex interplay of adjusting bump, rebound, ride height, antiroll bar stiffness, presures etc. So you will achieve this to varying degreee depending on how much adjustability you have in your set up. But as a general rule: The following trends will apply in most cases, there can be exceptions to some of these. Generally changes should be made one at a time, in small steps. I found this guide really helpful http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racing_setup
  13. We all get this sort of attention and its all good Why don't you load up your pics with any pics hosting site eg photobucket and share them properly with us rather than downloads Its easy and there is a guide here on how to do it if you need help
  14. Top job james! The zed is looking stunning Good you went with the smoothed look for the skirts and bumper but i would have left out the zed badge especially as it will look out of place with the toe hook installed I think the carbon roof will be ok if lacquered if not revert to the black roof which looks equally
  15. The missus has forgiven but not forgotten .................it will cost me We also had an equally nice get together with loads to eat and drink Slept at 5am Hope next time we meet things will be different I need to pick up the slack with the nurburgring trip. I should be getting some info back 2moro so expect a pm or call from me
  16. Hey Simon was a pleasure to help and would have really wanted to have done everything but we underestimated how time consuming it could be especially as we were working on both cars swapping bits I could have done the bumper tuck while i was having a brake as it only takes a few minutes if i knew it was amongst the "to do list" Anyway, it will be easy to install the rear brembos once Dave sends them to you Now that you have driven back to Weston what are your impression of the brakes now? Hope there were no probs ....not that i expect any Sorry i almost spoilt your exhaust recording with my K1 driving off
  17. Azzure always looks nice with nismo kit and black roof However the lowering is very strange i have to say too Front look like 20-25mm and rear almost stock height Are these springs or coilies? Front spacers atleast and proper lowering is required
  18. I used Motul dexron III from Opie. 1L bottle is enough
  19. Ok rich not funny anymore.....and i have even proved bennett wrong today and he will confirm how not pink they are Yeah stuck with the nissan emblem ian....sets it off quite nice Yeah i can confirm the wheel are not PINK It more of a maroon or rusty red and is not so bad the pics just don't do it justice. Also had a passenger ride back and forth from the pub and its immense. i will like to give it a go sometime for the ultimate feedback but i am sold
  20. Beautiful and rare color and excellent photos! Dare i say it needs spacers at least
  21. Welldone for the effort mate but thats slow You need to try harder because i suspect this time does not include jacking up the car removing the wheel, then the disc/callipers, coper greasing as required and then reversing the order after putting the new ones . not to forget the sympathetic GF who stopped the clock so you did not have your feelings hurt
  22. Bogof Rich i dont have the stretched look.............if anything my tyres are plus-sized on the rims to protect it from kerb damage instead (295/30/19 on 19X9.5 wheels instead of 10.5) but i could do with more protection from the kerbs on race tracks. As you go round a corner quickly the tyres roll inwards and exposing the rims edges to the kerbs secondly i could use different colours to make it interesting like in meets etc
  23. i meant cling film thanks for spotting that Got stuck in my head when i read the earlier post
