  1. Cheers mate! the bonnet dampers are on the (ever increasing!) list
  2. Here are a few pics of some more things I have done recently...: Di-Noc centre console and arm rests, happy for first attempt! Not perfect around the gauge pods - will redo this bit. CF Battery and Brake Fluid covers and shiny coolant tank Thanks for looking!
  3. actual tears.... oh, it's wrong to laugh....
  4. hmmm... the manual says that the unit will only work when the ignition key for NATS (nissan anti theft system) is in the acc or on position... Maybe if this is a used system it wont work with your key? I could be wrong, but its a plausible explanation. There must be some way of reprogramming your key and/or the bose system to work... Hopefully, somebody more technical will be along to help. PS - to the forum
  5. Yup - the inside label states: "Premixed with water. Frost protection until -38C. Do not not add water".
  6. Hey folks, Looking forward to fitting my shiny new coolant tank tomorrow (cheers Neil!) Just been to Nissan to get some coolant for top-up - however, they don't do the L250 any more, as recommended in the manual. It has apparently been replaced by L248 pre-mixed. I'm guessing this is no major issue. I was just going to get a top up litre, but rather than mix them up I've gone for 4l of the new stuff to do a complete fluid change instead. Am I right in assuming that the L248 is basically the same as what you get by mixing L250 with water? Cheers
  7. I had this problem mate, lasted a few weeks but not seen it since. I think it may be to do with the connectors under the seat getting knocked when cleaning, moving seat etc... On the other hand - if it is persistent the it could well be indicating an actual fault so might be worth getting it looked at.
  8. Have a look here mate - might have something for your area listed: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=6668&start=0&hilit=dealership+woes Not a great deal of difference between P2 and P3 - check the servicing checklist, it should all be on there. If your car has stuck to the service schedule then shouldn't be any need to get the P3 done out of sync.
  9. When you have cleaned your car , you might see faint scratches on it where you engaged the offending bush. As long as you can't feel your finger nail catch on the scratches, then they should polish out. I would be wary of things like T-Cut as they can be quite abrasive and the paint on the Zed is thin(ish). Try some like Autoglym super resin polish - this should buff them out nicely. Try this: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/what-does-polishing-do.html
  10. I think the point people are missing is this: infuriating as it may be - there are many, many people on the road that don't concentrate, aren't aware of their surroundings and are basically, well, crap drivers. If DRLs gives me a fighting chance against being smacked into by one of these morons, then I'm all for it.
  11. Meguirs Gold Class Endurance Tyre Gel
  12. It can be done without removing the wheel mate - just put full lock on. It's a bit tight and a pair of gloves is recommended so you don't scrape your hands though!
  13. And the more your insurance will cost you!!!
  14. When my parked Zed got reversed into - the offending lady said she hadn't seen my car (and didn't feel the bump either by all accounts...)... Eh? The big shiny grey thing dirctly behind you, in broad daylight? She was about 70+ bless her. I ended up feeling like the villain!
  15. Sad news - I hate hearing about trashed Zeds
  16. Hi mate, I'm no expert on it but I believe that the Fidanza flywheel chatters below about 2K revs, which is normal. This may the answer to both of your questions - should be some more info on here somewhere though! Hope this helps. ps - Why not say hello in the introductions bit !!!
  17. Unfortunately our EU overlords have to cater for the vast multitude of people on the roads for whom sense is not common... Then they should leave their EU parliament building more often and see what the real world looks like. This kind of cotton wooling is what is halting human evolution, it actually promotes human retardation because people are put into a world where they don't have to think about dangers anymore, as it is lawfully eliminated. I completely understand where you are coming from - but because there are so many let's say - unaware - drivers out out there, these safety measures have to be brought in to protect others. I think there should be more about driving in different weather conditions included during initial lessons and testing, rather than fannying about reversing round corners... Couldn't agree more - but so many people don't care about what behind them I wonder if rear DRLs will be considered?
  18. "More reasons to shop at err....." Nah, sticking with V-Power

  20. I believe it's a directive from the European Commission aimed at reducing accidents and lowering energy consumption (what - from your own car battery? Cheers...) As for reducing accidents - apparently, a test on a range of road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, etc... found that cars with DRLs were more easily spotted coming upto junctions and so on. Makes sense, and I guess anything that reduces accidents is a good thing? Still - taken the EC collective genuis a while to catch on since Audi introduced them to their cars (albeit as a styling accessory) nearly three years ago...
  21. Given that the Zed came out in 2003, I do still wonder why Nissan felt the need to include a tape deck? Still - came in handy for my ghetto iPod/tape mod thingy...
  22. Mine came with 3 cds already in it from the previous owner - Life on Mars, New York Soul and Groove Armada... Not exactly an eclectic mix! Besides, I too was listening to the V6 Symphony Orchestra all the way home!
  23. You can replace diff oil and gear oil if you wish - in fact I'm about to do this on my Zed at the weekend (I'm on about 82K). I bought my fluid from genuine Nissan stuff and cheaper than you'll find at the main stealers. You will need a fluid suction pump to do this job - you can get them off ebay for less than £10. It is important you get the right grade stuff - ZMANALEX will tell you what is needed for the JDM - I think the diff oil might be different to what UK cars take.
  24. Having a warm arse of a morning's commute is an important performance feature for me!!!!
  25. Check out www.opieoils.co.uk - they do service packs for the 350z - oil and spark plugs and you can get a discount for being a member on here. I think some of the traders on here should be able to get the K&N stuff and the rest for you. Have a nosey in the traders section
