  1. Apparently I looked moody in the picture, but thought it would look cheesy to smile wide. lol Pleased by the article that was written, though was hoping to get more article space, but still mega pleased I was in there
  2. Took me about 3 hours to replace my discs and pads on the front, so factor in a day to do it yourself the first time, but well worth the effort, especially if fellow memebers are willing to help and point you in the right direction
  3. There is also Sly at Kaiser motors, just the other side of the water, hes a great guy, and knows his stuff. He fitted my coilovers and rear camber arms, very happy with his service, though you cant go wrong with Abbey or Japex. If you have patience,id strongly suggest doing your discs and pads yourself, its not complicated, and will save you some cash. Though if you do take it to a garage, id suggest you get fresh fluid put in at the same time, as that will make a difference too. Also worth a mention, if you are getting stuff from one of the traders on here, is the anti squel shims, as if they are anything like mine, need replacing.

Yes,the guy there told me that he could not order anymore due to the new EU regulations. He has stock, but once thats gone, that will be it
  8. When i spoke to a couple of guys on the day, they were not impressed with the Nismo, so maybe it will get 3..... Its issue 204,and will be in the shops in about a week, as Dan said

Right, typical EU! Iv now been informed that you can no longer import the SUPER BLUE/AMBER, as they have now made it the law that coloured brake fluid is not allowed! How bloody stuoid is that. Its a brilliant idea to have different coloured fluids, so that you can see when the new one is coming through. Gggrrr. Anyway, went to Monkfish, and perved over around 50Litres of Monaro and Porsche, and got some fluid. They only have a few boxes of this fluid left, so anyone wanting some, had best be quick

Monkfish sell 1L bottles, i may see if they can bleed the brakes at the same time if my usual mechanic cant do it

Monkfish sell Super Blue, so i can go pop along to them, and get some. I do have HEL braided hoses yes, and Iv had rock hard pedal feel a year or so ago after my discs were skimmed, so thats why I suspected the fluid. Being the chepest option to rule out first

Cheers Dan, was thinking about the fluid as the first port of call, as it is cheaper to do, and more likely the culprit, and I thought I did a good job of cleaning the hub faces up before I fitted the new discs.

I know this is subjective, but after doing a few laps the other week at Bedford, thanks to Evo, the pedal feel on the brakes was not great. Id fitted new discs and pads (DBA T3's and DS2500's) and the pedal was not rock hard like it was when id fitted discs and pads before. The pedal was feeling a little soft, and even on the road, i dont get that initial squidge then the hard pedal, I just get squidge. Should I try with replacement fluid first, and if that does not work, then get the discs skimmed? Someone at the Evo day, suggested the Halfords raceing fluid, as they had tried it, and the series they are racing in, use it for the entire grid. I currently have RBF600, but that has not been replaced for a couple of years, and I have done a couple of track days and hard driving. The other variable, is the rear discs and pads, these will need changing at some point in the next 6months or so i reckon. Would this give me squidge?
  17. Inside of the old discs Shiny news ones
  18. Massive thanks to Ewen and the team for sorting my discs and service pack out last week at short notice, so i could make it to the Evo event at Bedford on Tuesday. My wife enjoyed the Harribo.
  19. Ah ok, well give us a shout when you see it and let me know your thoughts
  20. Ah sweet, is that Dennis publishing?
  21. Kept it quiet mainly as it was last minute, but got invited to attend Bedford today with a couple of other lucky guys, courtesy of Evo, they ran a competition on Facebook, asking for people to post their first performance car. Was great to meet some of the team at Evo, and they were doing a feature comparing carbon brakes to steel ones, in a pair of F type R's, which were stunning. Didnt manage anywhere near as much track time as everyone hoped, as we only got an hour in on the West circuit, and we were only allowed 3 cars on track at a time. Managed about 10laps total, which was not enough really, but topped off a great day, and hopefully in a month or so, you will see my Azure as part of a feature they are doing, along with a few words of mine. I also bigged the forum up for being a massive help.
