  1. Is there a walk through on bleeding the system. I can work with walkthroughs but I am no mechanic.
  2. Thanks for all your answers. When the car is running on the motorway (ie not stationary for any period) it blows hot air when hot - cold air when set to cold. eg works as it should. When the car is stationary...the air is only ever cool....whatever the temperature its set to. I will bleed the system at the weekend...and possibly buy a new thermostat...any ideas where to get one? (cheapest?)
  3. CEL? no lights are showing on the dash board when I start it up. or when I drive (apart from traction control due to the weather!! )
  4. My car runs fine generally, although recently it has been getting hotter when sat in traffic. When moving it seems fine. The temp guage has gone up to the red, but then drops down again, sometimes without even driving,.... I assume I have an airlock or broken Thermostat. When checking the levels in the reservoir the other day, I noticed that one fan was on constantly (as soon as the engine started) Is this normal if the engine is still warm?...them temp guage wasnt on the idle level at that point. Whats the easiest way to get to the thermostat...is it something I can do myself? And where would you recommend getting one from? Thanks
  5. Havent installed anything else.... not since ive had the car, and it just seems strange that the issue has come back since it got more condensation in the light. I see what your saying about the contacts...shall i disconnect the light and spray wd40 into the contacts or something?? What else could it be? hmmmm very frustrating!!!
  6. HAs anyone got a Passenger side headlight assembly for sale? wiring loom would also be useful. I dont need the light or ballasts though. UK 54 reg style. Thanks
  7. Hi guys... some of you may have read that ive been having ongoing issues with condensation in specifically the passenger headlight. It came down to the previous owner not putting the backs back onto the lights after changing the bulbs...and therefore water getting in. I changed both ballasts, and bulbs several months ago..and the drivers side is now perfect..no condensation...lovely white beam. The passenger side continued to let water in...and subsequently eventually the ballast went again....or so i thought. I bought a bulk buy of 4 ballasts from Japan...so thought I would just change out the ballast again...along with the bulb...however i have now tried 3 different ballasts, and 3 bulbs...including one from the other side...and nothing works... Since taking the light out and stripping it...and putting it back together...the side light doesnt seem to even work now either... Are the headlights fused separately? Where are they fused, and does anyone have any suggestions other than a whole new headlight assembly? My MOT is due this week. Thanks in advance.
  8. Ok..ive checked all fuses (engine bay and footwell and cant find the fuse thats blown - and everything else is working) Can anyone suggest the best other place - or wire colour to feed the glove box (behind passenger seat with a Batt + cable (always on) Obvious route is from battery, but if I can feed it from in car, easily, it would save a massive hassle of getting through the firewall. Thanks
  9. Sory to write it up again guys, but just looking for some advice for the weekend, and thought i'd try a different section. Can anyone shed any light on this? viewtopic.php?f=10&t=29212 Thanks
  10. Thanks for the quick reply. I opened up that one...but the sat nav itself isnt labelled. Cigarette lighters still work...stereo still works...and interior light still works...hmmmm Can anyone tell me which fuse it is exactly?
  11. Guys, My car came with a birdview sat nav...decided to take it out due to slow, non postcode lookups. I have since installed a car pc in the glovebox behind the passenger seat...all connected and powered from the cables that used to power the birdview dvd player. I have recently changed the motherboard...but I have a live cable no power issue...and believe a fuse may have blown...non of the fuses are easy to see on the 350z so I was hoping someone could point me to a sensible location of this fuse somewhere to save me a little time and effort? Many thanks in advance. Ian
  12. I have 3 of these spare..... and can get as many of them as required. I had issues with my headlights, and these original fitment matsushita ballasts which Nissan use, solved the issues instantly....and come with the silver coated wiring loom up to the light connectors. They also come with a replacement wiring loom to connect to the ballast mains link too. £65 each £120 for pair +£5 p+p I will get some photos up soon. Thanks
  13. Think this is asked fr regularly, but can anyone point me in the direction of someone who may be selling one of these? http://s625.photobucket.com/albums/tt33 ... C00005.jpg Sorry to nick the pic from another post, but any help would be great, as when it starts raining again, the rust is gonna be at the forefront of my mind!
  14. Done. Thanks for the quick answers. Lets hope the new REDSTUFF pads stop me better
  15. Guys ive looked and looked. Is there a walkthrough with pictures of how to change rear brembo pads? Ive got the car jacked up. Pull the two pins out. Then pulled the two bars out. I cant get the pad itself out??? Also, does the handbrake need to be off? Im not sure how i will stop the car rolling if it is off?
  16. None of it makes sense. I have even put silica bags in mine now, and they still dont dry out. Even in this hotter weather - they seem to be getting worse...which doesnt make sense to me....as they just have droplets of water on the inside and the only thing i can think will fix it is new headlights....although not only are they expensive - whats to stop them getting condensation...and what if it is the power supply. 3fiddyZ - thanks for the offer of your spares....Im sure I read somewhere that you arent far from me - im in croydon??? The only problem is im useless at the whole getting the front bumper on and off concept....so swapping lights over etc may not be as easy as first thought?
  17. Sorry to bring this back up....but im still puzzled! Ive recently had the car in for a service and asked them to check out the lights.... They mentioned that the backs werent on properly which would cause the condensation - ok....here what I dont get. 1. Condensation builds up as the seal isnt tight in the headlight - possibly letting water in 2. If you remove the back completely - condensation goes (but the opening into the light was causing the condensation??) 3. Isnt there a drain tube from the light to let condensation out? (therefore meaning the lights arent airtight anyway?) My question is...ive now got the backs on 100% securely, and the condensation (although reduced in one light) has returned. Is it worth drilling the back of the sealled back screw on section, as I can then attach my own rubber tube to air the light? Im not going to simply replace the lights to blow a 3rd set while they continue to have condensation! Any suggestions are always welcome...sorry to keep bringin the problem up!
  18. Ok, The saga continues - after 3 weeks of driving around with my full beams on as neither headlight works - i did some afternoon investigations in the sun. I can only think I have used the wrong level bulb?? I have been buying the 6000k version of these: http://www.car-mod-shop.co.uk/xenon-hid-d2s-d2r-replacement-bulbs-p-217.html and last time i did, they were put in and have blown immediately...my question is are 6000k too much? or too little? Any answers would be good - i need to order some new ones asap
  19. Thanks for the advice - how would you recommend doing that? Ive removed the back of the lights while the weather is dry, and im not driving anywhere - so hopefully the lights will dry out like they did before
  20. Okay....the saga continues. I have bought two new bulbs from the internet...as I cant keep driving round with full beams on. Fitted them both today. the connector on the back twisted into locking position on the back so definately connected properly. Still neither bulb works. Thought it must be the fuse, but on investigation both the fuses in the drivers footwell and the fuses in the battery compartment dont seem to have a headlight fuse? Am i looking in the wrong place or barking up the wrong tree? What else could it be that could cause both to go more or less at the same time, and still not work when the bulb is replaced? Thanks Ian
  21. Looks sweet - does it connect up into the standard head unit for sound output? Whats the music storage capacity? do you have a video of it booting up? how quickly is it up and running?
  22. Ah......a possibility. Can anyone point me in the direction of buying a cheap undertray and archliners?/.....scrap or whatever?
  23. yep... both headlights. I havent got any arch liners or undertray to my bumper as I have a nismo front on the car. It was like that when i bought it. I assume this wont affect the bulbs? Thanks for the guide btw
  24. Hi Paul, Yeah the hid worked before on that bulb...then condensation came and went, then the snow bought the other one condensation, and now both bulbs dont bloody work! When I put them back on they were defo sealed shut. I do it through the wheel arch, as I cant for the life of me get the front bumper off.
