  1. Yes if theres a fair bit of interest and a few other people in the surrounding area we will be trying to cover to most of the UK. Paul & Tim
  2. Hi, Its hard to work out accurate prices at this stage as we're trying to plan a circuit to make it more economical, the prices will be roughly around these figures. Protection Detail £145 Correction detail £300 Interior detail £50 Engine Bay Detail £30 These are current prices but depending on how many people will be interested in having the services done will obviously vary the final prices. Hope this helps
  3. Myself (http://www.racevaleting.co.uk) and another pro-detailer I work with Envy Valeting (http://www.envyvaleting.co.uk) have had a chat about doing a tour covering the UK offering detailer services to the forum members. I'm just at this stage gauging interest to see what sort of response we would get before making any plans, I have already asked the mods about this and got the go ahead. So can you please state making a list below with Name and the car model, location and detail required whether it be A full correction detail (wash, clay, machine polish to remove defects such as swirl marks and buffer trails, cleanse and wax/seal the paint. Paint protection detail (as above but minus the paint correction stage) Extras to add on are engine bay detail and also interior detail. So if you could kindly start a list that would be great then depending on interest as to whether or not we go ahead with it. Please can you also indicate if you have a garage, or access to shelter, outside tap and power. e.g Race Valeting 350z gt, full correction, engine & interior. Portsmouth, Hampshire 1)
  4. I know its not a 350z but thought this was a nice detail from today so thought i'd post it up for you all. Today saw Tim & I back to do the 2nd car a nice bright orange Vauxhall VX220. This was booked in for a protection detail as the owner Ian had just bought the car and wanted it in great shape and nice and easy to maintain. This was the car on arrival parked underneath some giant trees The van was nice and clean last night as I gave it a quick wash ready for today, but this is how it looked after 40 miles this morning. Anyway first thing was to get the car moved somewhere more practical to work on. Firstly the wheels were soaked with some AS Smart Wheels and cleaned using a selection of brushes, ez detail brush, and some of Tims own swissvax style brushes. It was mine turn with the camera today and Tims turn on the wheels. While tim was cleaning the wheels I went round and washed the badges with some g101 and a envy brush, and also gave the lowers a soak too. This was all rinsed off then foamed using some experimental envy foam which I must say Is some of the best i've ever used looks just like shaving foam, this was left for a few mins then rinsed. This was then followed by a 2bm wash using a sonus wool mitt and some gold class shampoo, and then rinsed. Next up was to clay using some Dodo gentle grey and some last touch as lube, must say the car was pretty clean due to having a respray recently. This was after the rear quarters and back bumper. Then car was then dried using a miracle drying towel and some last touch. Next stage was the paintwork cleansing using some Dodo lime prime light by hand, Tim applied and I buffed, must say was pretty hard to see where you were buffing due to the colour. After this we then applied a coat of the Swissvax Crystal Rock (Paul Daltons) and left to cure for 10 mins and then buffed. While I was buffing off the wax Tim went round and dressed the tyres using some CG New Look Trim Gel. Once all the car was buffed off and looking ship shape It was moved back round to the original car park where we cleaned the exhaust using some megs nxt metal polish, and also clean the door shuts using some last touch and the glass was then polished inside and out and the exterior plastics dressed and the hood also sealed. A quick final wipe over and the tyres buffed to a natural finish and it was all finished. Finished pics: Then we had a very quick shower which was good so we could get some of the Crystal Rock beading. And finally a BEFORE & AFTER shot Many thanks again Tim for the past 2 days :thumb: and also the owner Ian who lurks on here sometimes. Any comment/Questions welcome as usual. Thanks for reading Paul & Tim

  6. Tell me about it. Amandas Corsa is going in tomorrow. The gear selector is gone. Apparently its a nylon ball and socket which wears out costing pennies to produce, but you have to buy the whole sodding gear selector to replace - and it has the same crappy ball and socket Thats crap Chris. Yes mate give me a message when you need the car doing mate I've been through 2 MAF's so far and the engine management light is on again at the mo, a temp sensor gone aparently RAC told me. Its more annoying as the engine is a Renault but all the wiring is a Vauxhall so its a dealership job to Diagnose all the time. £49+VAT VW Transporter next for me I think or maybe the Nissan Primastar as you never hear much going wrong with them
  7. Thanks Martin, Must say Im always getting comments about the chrome sign writing The vans nice to look at and drive, but nothing but problems bloody Vauxhalls
  8. I'm sure I could work some magic, this xk8 lived in swirlamatics and the paintwork was so flat and marked. Just a shame people neglect these type of prestige cars
  9. Today saw me back at Gunwhalf again to another Jag this time just the XK8 which was in a very bad way, This detail was to be done again over 2 days. Before pics: (Sorry all pics were taken on my Iphone today and not great quality.) Someone had scratched the word "W****r" on the bootlid quite clear to see too. Firstly the wheels were cleaned using some AS Smart wheels and a selection of brushes, the tyres were cleaned using some G101 and so were the arches. Then the car was givan a pre-wash soak using some citrus degreaser, this was left for a few mins and rinsed. Next up the car was foamed using some g101 to help strip any old protection. The car was then washed using 2bm and some megs gold class shampoo. The car was then clayed using some dodo gentle grey Before: After 1 half: after other half: The car was then rewashed and then dried using miracle drying towel and some last touch. Next up was to inspect the MAJOR SWIRLS/RIDS Test patch using a megs cutting pad and some fc+ Before After 1 hit: 50/50's Corrected: All the correction work nearly finished now just the back rear quarter, both bumpers and hal the bootlid, then time to cleanse and then wax. Total time today was 8 hrs Well back here again to finsh this off. Firstly a quick wipe over to remove some of the dust and then got on with correcting the areas I didn't do yesterday. Once all the correction was done I went over the car with a black 3m pad and some 3m ultrafina se. Then the paintwork was cleansed using some Dodo lime prime lite via the pc on a megs finishing pad. Then out came the dodo purple haze for the first coat, this was left to cure for 30 mins while this was doing I dressed the tyres with some CG new look trim gel and the arches, Cleaned out all the door/boot shuts and then cleaned the windows. Then the wax was ready to be buffed off. I then got on with cleaning the interior and treating the seats with some cleaner/conditioner. Then time for a 2nd coat of purple haze this was again left for 30 mins to cure and then a final buff off and inspection and heres the end results. 50/50s before: After: Wax curing: Exhaust before: After: All finished pics: Before: After: Total time for the full detail 16 hrs Paul
  10. There just halogen site lamps, I also use a led torch to spot the swirl defects etc too. Paul
  11. Today was a full correction job on a BMW 330ci with the hard top on to be corrected also. This job is over 2 days and is a full external paint correctin detail and also engine bay and interior too. Went and collected the car last night ready for an early start this morning. Heres some before shots. First the wheels were cleaned using some AS smart wheels and a selection of brushes and the tyres and arches cleaned using some g101. Next up was to clean all the door/boot shuts and also the engine all this was done with some g101 and a swissvax style brush then rinsed. Then the car was then pre-soaked using some citrus degreaser This was left for a few mins then rinsed. Next up was to snow foam using some g101 to help strip the old protection, this was left for 5 mins and rinsed. Next the car was washed 2bm with a schmitt and some megs gold class shampoo and then left and not dired because I was claying next. Noticed this blob of glue or something on the bonnet while washing so a nice soak with some tardis and of it came. Out came the dodo juice grey clay along with some last touch as a lube. Before: After 1 half: This was the other half: Then the car was re-washed again and then dried with miracle drying towel and some last touch. Now lets have a look at some of the defects: It had been painted on the nearside due to spotting some overspray and a run and look what else was lurking Big scratch Now time to try a test patch on the bonnet, I knew I wasd going to be tough going so out came my menz ip as I haven't used it in a while along with a high gloss orange cutting pad. This is the results after 1 hit and not yet finished down. Pretty pleased with the results so I stuck to this combo and then finished down using some menz final finish via the black high gloss finishing pad. More correction shots: 50/50's I then quickly dressed the tyres using some CG new look trim gel and cleaned the exhaust using some megs nxt metal polish. I then called it a day as my back was killing. Todays work was 8 hrs and I have still to correct the bumper and then lime prime lite followed by 3 coats of purple haze. Grabbed a few shots of how its looking now. Looks for looking Paul. The rest will be uploaded sometime tomorrow evening as Im away at lunchtime at Heyford park on a driving day so need this finished by 12 [/center] Heres this mornings work on the beemer getting it ready. some 50/50's of the leather Car all finished with 3 coats of Dodo purple haze Thanks for looking Paul
  12. Todays job was a ltd edition black 406 hdi coupe this was booked in for a full correction and engine detail and also to de-badge the Peugeot & 406 badges. The car was dropped off at mine yesterday afternoon so I cracked on yesterday and got it washed and clayed ready for some correction today. Heres some pics on arrival: Firstly the wheels were cleaned using as smart wheels and a selection of brushes, the arches and tyres were cleaned using some g101. Then the engine bay and all the door shuts/boot were cleaned using a swissvax style brush and some g101 then rinsed. The car was then pre-washed with some citrus tfr and then rinsed, then the car was foamed using a g101 mix to help remove any old protection this was left to dwell for a few mins then rinsed. I then de-badged the 2 badges on the boot lid using a hair dryer and some tardis to remove the glue residue. Before: After All that was needed now was to was polish the remaining marks out. Then the car was washed using 2bm using some megs gold class shampoo and a wool mitt, this was then rinsed with an open ended hose and left and not dried due to claying the car next. It was clayed using some dodo grey clay and last touch as a lube. Before: After: All washed and ready to be finished tomorrow: Went round with the PTG to get some readings ready for the machining tomorrow, It was evident that the car had been in a rear ender as both rear quarters had sanding marks under the paint and paint readings all over the place on the back, the rest of the car was reading between 120-147. That was it for yesterday, now for some correction work today and feeling like crap with a cold I have just called it a day at 3:30 and will get the rest finished tomorrow. I did a few test patches to find out a good combo, again got out the menzerna ip on a high gloss cutting pad and then finished down using some menz final finish on a high gloss finishing pad. Heres some pics some more scratches 50/50's Corrected: The rest will be finished tomorrow but pretty happy with the results so far today. As usual all comments welcome. Time taken today 5 1/2 hrs Now for todays work. The car was wiped down this morning from the dew and then I got on with finishing the correction that I had left to do. Once all the correction was done the car was given an IPA wipe down to remove all the oils from the polish and then lime prime'd via the pc. Then with the clouds darkening I got out the Dodo purple haze and applied it to the whole car and then went round buffing off. I then went and dressed all the tyres with some cg new look trim gel and the arches also, the windows were cleaned using megs glass cleaner, the exhaust tip with megs nxt metal polish. Then I applied another coat of purple haze and let it cure for 25 mins then buffed off just in time as it started to spit with rain. I then gave the interior a quick hoover out and a wipe down and then dressed the engine bay with some ag bumper and trim care. Finally the car was given a spritz of duragloss 952 Heres the final pics: A couple of signs of poor bodyshop work also Notice the overspray in the middle of the bumper below the boot badge Also a couple of paint runs Total time for the detail was 12 hrs :thumb: Paul

  17. Yesterday I had a lovely 08 plate Nissan 350z dropped off ready for a full correction detail topped off with some Dodo supernatural. The owner has only had the car for 5 weeks now and the state it left the dealerships was terrible covered in holograms/swirls/scratches you name it this car had it and with only just over 3k on the clock has to be the worst condition for its age I've seen. Heres some before pics (Not too dirty just the paintwork a mess!!!) Anyway got up around 8 this morning to get started with the washing of the car. Firstly the wheels were cleaned with some g101 and a selection of brushes, the tyres and arches were also cleaned using g101 Before: During: Next up was to clean the engine bay/door shuts/boot jam/badges Befores: Afters: All these were cleaned using a swissvax style brush and some g101. Next stage was a pre-wash to remove the loose dirt. next up was a foam using some g101 to help remove some of the dealer protection The car was then rinsed and wash using 2bm and some megs golds class shampoo, then rinsed ready for claying. Claying stage for this I used some new siwssvax mild clay Before: After drivers wing and door: The car was then re-washe dand dried using miracle towel and some last touch as a drying aid. Next up was taping the car up ready for machining, for this I used some blue 3m 25mm tape. Now time to inspect the paint properly and take some reading with the ptg. On average the paint was between 100-125 but some places like on the bonnet by the scratch is was down to 90 were they had tried rubbing the scratch away without polishing the marks away. The car had the stone chip protector film on the front edge on the bonnet and bumper and wings. 50/50 Corrected pics: Once all the correction was finished I then quiclky dusted the car down and then cleansed the paint using some dodo lime prime via the pc and a new yellow 3m glossing pad. Heres some pics of it so far I quickly dressed the tyres with some CG new look trim gel for the pics. Now all thats left is a quick wipe down in the morning and 2 coats of supernatural and then a quick hoover and dress the engine bay. Now some finished shots with 2 coats of supernatural Im very happy with the finsh so far should look even slicker tomorrow when she has a couple of coats of SN on. The interior was then hoovered and the seats cleaned/conditioned using some Zaino leather in a bottle, the plastics were dressed using some poorboys natural look dressing. Thanks for looking Paul
  18. Dodo supernatural now sold awaiting payment. Paul
  19. Im being ruthless at the mo and having a major clearout of my van, I have 2 tubs of the supernatural and 2 of the concours as these are my 2 favourite waxes. But im after buying a 3m sun gun so need to gain some money back from products i've got sat around. Price does include delivery but if paying by paypal you will need to add the fees. Regards Paul Tempting - my P21S has just run out. Do you know how this compares to something like P21S? You hear so many reviews about the net, but rather hear it from someone thats used it. Hi Chris P21's is an ok wax but not that great on shine or wetness, The supernatural has a great depth to it and is great on all colours I have found but even better of the darker colours. Heres a few link for pics using supernatural that I have done. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=87559 http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=86953 http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=86133 Cheers Paul

  21. As Stew sated its 1 of the best wax brands out there. Just do a google search for Zym0l concours. I have 2 tubs but am having to have a clearout and be ruthless. Paul
  22. To get the best finish on the vehicle there can be other stages before hand like claying to remove contamination then machine polishing to remove swirls etc if you have any or just to refine the finish, then cleansed using a paintwork cleanser and then you can add a glaze/sealant followed by the wax, THIS IS FOR THE BEST OUTCOME. BUT IT CAN ALSO JUST BE APPLIED AFTER A WASH, AND YES HAND BUFFING IS FINE JUST NEEDS TO BE APPLIED NICE AND THIN AND EVEN. Hope this helps Paul
  23. This is applied by either foam applicators or can be applied by rubbing it in your fingers but I find you use more that way. It is then buffed off using a polishing/buffing towel Regards Paul
