  1. Evening guys, Got a new Kenwood DNX7200 to replace my Bose (2006 model). Got a harness from the States to connect to the factory amp. Soldered all the wires together on a spare kenwood harness then plugged it all in. But nothing is happening - looks like no power - but re-fitted my Bose and it works fine. Only problem is - if you look below my harness does not have the bits in red - so I have a spare plug leading from the car with no where to fit it. Looked online and it says its the steering controls. [/img] Any ideas as to why it isnt working?????? The power wire harness is wired up properly. Another point is that I have a spare ground wire coming from the car. I know this sounds like I dont know what I am doing - but always fitted my own gear and emailed the supplier constantly to make sure I got the right harness....although on the website it does say <2005 model - but he assured me it works with 2006. Cheers
  2. I'll send them an email and see what prices are for a few of us - I'll try (and probably fail) to see if we can get any discount off :-) unfortunatley I couldn't pre-practice my oversteer whilst doing 20mph on the M62 on the way home! damn traffic Adam
  3. cheers for the info. had a look at the website, is it the 'CAT 1 advance road & track development' that some of you guys did?? ...the Alpine course they have there looks fun!!
  4. afternoon people, Had my 350z roadster for 2 months now .....and I love it. Coming from a Clio 182 I thought the 350z would handle like an oil tanker - but I am very much surprised! Although I'd like to learn how to drive it 'properly' regarding oversteer, high speed cornering and just seeing what the car can do. I have seen lots of advance driving courses on offer, some using just public roads (not sure how that works for testing oversteer!) and some track/airfields or a mix of both. Has anyone being on any course or can offer any information regarding getting the most out of my motor??? cheers all Adam
  5. Since I got my 350z Roadster I have only seen one other Roadster in 3 months. Yesterday I saw 2 within 5 minutes of each other! Both grey - one with private plate other was an 06. Spotted around 16:10 ...and I must say even with the roof up they look great!!!! Adam
  6. i will take loads of pics and document my route once I get back for future reference. Ferry leaves on Monday :-)
  7. Afternoon All, With the collapse of XL all flights have gone up 300% so decided to take my Roadster (owned it for 2 weeks) on a little trip. Thinking of Dover-Calias then quickest route to Nice... few days rounds there then make way to Valencia on the Spanish coast. Any suggestions/tips/ideas will be greatfully appreciated. Also never driven abroad (well smart car in Greece) so any foreign police/speed trap advice welcome ;-) Cheers Adam
  8. I tried all the guides online to re-program my remote fobs when the stopped working - none of them worked :-( had to take it in to the dealers who told me there was a lose connection on the remote reciever so the car wasnt getting any signal - covered under warrenty thankfully. To get the keys done it is £22 a key. Full credit to Halifax Nissan though - good service and they didnt check that I had left the hire car with 3 miles left before empty!
  9. Hi there, does anyone know where to find the PAC unit you need to replace the BOSE (with amp) with an aftermarket Kenwood unit? Looked on ebay and the yankie ebay but cant find any :-( any help appreciated. regards Adam

  11. found a thread online that says this is how to DIY re-code ur keys: 1. Turn the ignition switch from Position 0 to ON 6 times within 10 seconds. 2. Then turn ignition switch to OFF position. Leave key in ignition switch. 3. After 2 seconds, the system will enter programming mode and will flash the warning lights twice. 4. Press and HOLD the unlock button on the Plip. 5. While pressing the unlock button, press the lock button 3 times. 6. Release the unlock button. 7. The warning lights will flash once to indicate successful programming. 8. Repeat procedure 4 to 7 for up to 4 plip key’s. 9. When completed turn ignition ON, and the warning lights will flash 2 times. 10. Remove key, and check all plip key’s for operation. going to try it when I get home.
  12. very impressed with the speed of the help on here :-) called local Nissan dealer (Halifax) and they said the remotes will need re-coding at a cost of £42 (not covered under warrenty). Going to look online and see if I can find out how to do it as it most just by a series of things (put key in and press button 6 times etc) you do just like pairing a tv remote Adam
  13. they were working fine when I stopped for petrol. both original nissan remotes. cant remember seeing any lights on the remote to be honest.
  14. Morning people, Had my 06 350z for 12 hours now but think I have broken it. After spending 30 minutes realising that you needed your foot on the clutch to start it both my remotes have stopped opening the doors remotely. Got no idea what I have done and was hoping its a simple fix Apart from that I am living the 305z - will post pics this weekend regards Adam
