Morning Gents, The past 2 weeks I've noticed a vibration coming from the front wheels when I brake above 50mph. One of the wheels has a higher build up of brake dust so took the wheel off and took the pads out to look for un-even wear. everything looks ok, both pads are same depth and no marks on discs. Everything (DS2500 and EBC Turbo) was new in Feb. When I spun the hub and watched the disc inbetween the caliper there seemed to be a very tiny bit of eliptic movement, only a **** hair if anything. Any ideas of what this could be? The car still brakes ok but obviously having the steering wheel shake when breaking heavy cant be good. cheers Adam

I found a cat sat sunbathing on my roof yesterday morning. But by the time i'd got my gun it had gone. I spent £350 getting the paint work corrected on my car last month and it now has little marks on it from cats and cat hairs all over my roof (convertible). Is the owner going to pay to get my car fixed No Are they coming to come round everyday and sort all the mess in garden out No My car is my pride and joy and it takes a load of money and time to keep it running and looking good. So I don't have a problem at all putting one between the eyes of someone's pet. To all the cat owners here - If I slept on your car and then shat on your patio (every single day) you wouldn't be very impressed would you!

I didn't even know York had a drag strip until last week. Going to have a go in the RWYB. Nice and gentle though, don't want to rag it too much as its my only car!

just wondered if anyone was going to this?? I'm taking my zed to york raceway next weekend for a 'Run What You Brung' anyone done a quarter mile race?? ...how hard can it be to drive fast in a straight line!! I assume ESP switched off, 4000rpm, dump the clutch then hold on tight!

morning guys, getting my Zed's paint work sorted as we speak. Took me ages to decide to get it done but glad I did. Anyways if anyone is local to Halifax, HX5 and wants to look for themselves to weigh up the decision then the guy will be here for another 5 hours at least making my Zed look pretty. PS i'm not touting for business or get any discount hence why I haven't said who's doing it. Although I should image you'll get a few quid off. PPS if you come you've got to bring your Zed so I can have a noisey at other ones ;-) Adam

as per the title - getting my car detailed/swirl removed and need to know if the paint is metalic or not for price quotes. its a 2006 black, Kuro black is it called!?

going to treat my Zed to some swirl removal TLC since the black paintwork is covered in hairline marks. Anyone got any recommendations of people I can use?? Ideally west yorks and mobile - but will travel for a decent job. cheers Adam

i did have a few problems with oil pressure so topped my oil up 4 weeks ago (the dip stick mark was below min). should be at the correct level still.

hypothetically if I was to work next to the Vehicle Maintenance Unit for a North West police force I could mention that a shiny batch of 10 BMW 3series estates appeared recently. So always slow down for a 3 series estate with tints in the rear.

just got home and noticed small amount of oil at the tips in both exhaust exits!! ..this cant be a good fun can it! whats up - any ideas??? Adam

sorted it now. for some strange reason when I fitted the new disc they didn't sit flush to hub and the off centre rotation caused rubbing on the caliper. very strange but all sorted now

are the CF kick plates still for sale??

I'll take the wheels off at the weekend and have a look.

...sorry its the Turbo discs - the gold coated ones with grooves and dimples.

evening guys, fitted EBC Ultimax and DS2500 two weeks, done 900miles since and my front alloys are covered in metal particles burnt onto the wheel. Had to scrub with a brillo pad to get all the sh1t off. I presume the pads are rubbing, or something is rubbing. Is this part of the bedding in process or have I done something wrong when fitting them??

I had the handbrake firmly on from when I had the front jacked up! might give it another go if it ever gets above freezing! cheers

the small plastic plug on the disc? - I removed that, had a peek inside but couldn't see anything!

Tried fitting my new brakes at the weekend. Managed the fronts discs/pads no problem. However I can't for the life of me get the rear discs off. They are stuck solid. Tried hitting them with a mallet but still not moving. Do I just get a bigger mallet or is there any other way of freeing them up?? cheers Adam

Just a quick note to say thanks to CS for the advice and quick delivery of my new brake setup. I purchased. EBC Turbo Groove discs front and rear DS2500 pads front and rear HEL Brake lines front and rear Motul 600 Brake fluid No hassle at all and worth a PM if any other members are thinknig of upgrading the brakes on their P&J. I'm going to document my attempt at fitting them all soon, so hopefully a half decent guide will be the result so others can learn from my mistakes! ha ha regards Adam

interesting find about the TSB - I'll give my local dealer (Halifax) a call tomorrow. Obviously the first thing they'll say is what is a TSB?? ha ha I'll be checking the oil level everyweek now. I'll update on what the dealer says to me tomorrow.

sound interesting - could call on my way home from work. Curious to know what the roadster is like close up. Love the Cube, but girlfriend thinks they look like a 'spastic wagon'!

UPDATE - called at halfords at lunch and topped up with 3 litres of their own brand 5w-40 synthetic. looks like I'm using 4 litres of oil every 10k miles! seems a tad high.

...just checked my oil level - its low, very low!! I know I should check every 2 weeks but haven't done anything on the car for 2 months with the cold weather. The oil warning light hasn't come on yet though. Going to top up the oil at lunch until I can look at it at the weekend. Adam
