  1. My sincerest condolences to both families. Absolutely shocking... rest in peace both of you
  2. whats your avatar all about??????????
  3. +12 front you ll be fine even lowered. +12 rear...ok with a 2+ degrees camber...and only just...if you want it too low with 0.5 camber lets say then think of +22
  4. And their drivers..... I v got a 520...am i with the beamer drivers or the zed ones???
  5. heavy plastic fantastic may i add
  6. the 313 is very close and with a few mods handles better on a track and is actually faster on a straight line...and you ll have a few grand change to play with but you ll compromise comfort... as i v posted previously... the cayman S is a hell of a car. only thing the Zed is better is price. and soul...and immaturity...you can be a thug and not be called a tw..t
  7. i was unlucky enough to see the seat airbag deploy and then deployed! 1st. Its tiny. think of the side of the back of the seat about 2" thick and horizontal. T i n y 2nd. It destroys more things for what it actually does. door card, back of the seat, airbag and module etc. total price to replace as much as a limb...if not more! 3rd. The only injury was a bruise on my passengers arm FROM the side airbag. Useless 4th. if you v got a child seat fixed (not the bottom bit only) that side airbag will be far from the seat and the child. There is no way it can injure the child I cant comment on what could happen when you are only using the bottom cushion on older kids or what would happen if the front airbag got deployed as i havent seen the front airbag opening on the Zed (thank god). But in regards to the side airbag....just forget your car has even got one.
  8. Exaggerating a bit me thinks. I agree with all the comments from JC. 100%. Still bought the car. It just appealed to my heart.
  9. agree once again... but then they may kick another one on your car!!! it has to be a KO in my opinion...or a knock down at least giving you plenty of time to hide the Zed!!!
  10. Had to make a similar choice the other day when a 'friend' took the hike and after she got out of my other car (MG ZS 2.5v6) she kicked the passenger door a few times and proper bent it. I just drove away. But then i thought what if.....the Zed...OMG!!! I can openly say that i have never hit a girl in my life and never been into a street fight since i was 21 (loads of fights on the mat only)........ but in any occasion where the Zed is involved and no responsibility is taken i would break the limb that caused the damage on my knee and record the video on my phone!!! and this post can be used as a statement by the police! respect for each others property is part of our democracy and freedom. and so is respect for each other. they dont respect my property i dont respect them. then again if the responsible limb is attached to a 21 stone ex convict then there may be grounds for civilized negotiations
  11. defo the ecu takes part in the process. thats why if you go for a haltech you lose the cruise control. i would assume its just a software issue tho and not a different ecu.
  12. +1 it disappeared after i had the clutch changed a few months later all the best guys
  13. excellent m8. no chance i could do that myself but i would happily pay to have it done. if only you could do the windows instead of the mirrors...
  14. silicone spray once a week after a good scrub.
  15. slave cylinder. it fails suddenly all the clutch fluid will leak under the car and then it will be RAC or AA!!! as ekona said. easy to change but tricky to bleed the clutch properly. its even a DIY job if you know what you are going your clutch pedal will feel suddenly light with plenty of initial play and as soon as you stop the car i had to have it changed twice....actually this last one lasted too long Alex the man to contact.
  16. never read that. but i v run in 2 cars exactly as he said without knowing it and had no issues so far. my lancia D 1.6 in greece has 120k very very hard miles on the clock with loads of street racing from a to b and the Z with 33k on the clock and many track days. clutches, brakes etc aside the engines themselves are spotless. Initial dyno run of the Zed before the uprev was 319.6 bhp on the fly! The lancia especially with a delicate and very happy revving super mirafiori evolution engine should have popped the clogs ages now. but it hasnt. I dont know if i am just lucky but i kind of understand his way of thinking. would be good to know what the specialists here think of it
  17. Lol your 19's didn't slow you down that much on knockhill did a tester at donington park....over 10secs a lap from rays/888s no spacers to 19"/050As/20mm spacers. average from 1min 20-23 secs to 1min 30-35secs. they proper kill the car!!!
  18. It always makes me smile when people complain about this review. It's actually very good and shows why Clarkson has achieved all he has. There are 1,000's of posts on this forum and what are the 4 biggest complaints? 1. Terrible noise (why do we fit those exhausts/pop-chargers etc.?) 2. Car's too heavy 3. Poor internal build quality 4. Impractical boot. and Clarkson identified these 4 things as it's biggest failings by just tootling around Sheffield for a couple of hours. The thing about the engine is an error which everyone jumps on to show he doesn't know his beans. He does. And some. Why do you all care so much about what he says? We love the car. He didn't. Get over it. as much as i hate saying it..... +1

If the rest of that road wasnt filled with potholes then I would have done a longer run at it My turning is fine I'll show you how to make a nicer turn.... are you taking her out on track? would love to hear and see it a full flyby! I'd love to get it out on track, I just need to find one with no noise limits. Its gonna be a load of work to get the current setup below 105DB they do them at donington park every now and then. just came back from one. and it sounds awesome. v v nice!
  20. had 20mm front and rear with the rays and never had any issues. and i am always hammering it. the difference between my 19s now and 20mm spacers compared to the rays without spacers is quite a bit. tested on the track. 19s with 20mm spacers and 050As 1.30+ mins, rays without spacers and 888s 1.20+mins at donington national circuit.
  21. + 100 the one i saw had a body kit on. front bumper and side skirts. i dont know exactly what option that was but the car looked awesome. it was from porsche in leeds and they said it came from the factory that way. as for speed comparison and as i said maybe with a 313 coupe the difference wont be that much. or a 370 coupe will be about as fast. then there is the latest S. and the porker is about 250kg lighter. and handles better. and the steering is from another planet. and its not a datsun! i would have it anytime. yes over a standard Zed! but mine is not standard.....the difference between the 2 cars in the pic below was only on a straight line and about 2 secs a lap at donington national circuit. obviously the rs was faster. i constantly lapped it at 1.20-1.23. there was a 996 911 S as well but he was so much slower he came to the garage to ask me what mods my car has. as a few more other ppl!
  22. Personally i agree with the above thread. if it was windows then hell yeah. but i dont want my mirrors folded every time i lock the car. it just doesnt look as good. esp when parked outside the night club
  23. and quite easy i would assume of for NOS (cheaper way) or s/c, FI (expensive way)
  24. good luck but you wont...if you had the 313 coupe ... and then maybe... its an S cayman... and much more composed on the twisties than a stock Z. I almost bought one years ago before the Maser. Brilliant drive but lots of window vibrations at low speeds gave me a headache. second time couldnt really afford the spec i wanted at the time. the first one red with spoilers, pasm, chrono pack etc was 50k 6months old!!!!! And i disagree with the rest here. its not a boxter or a basic 911. it really stands out! Well done to your bro. He got one of the best coupes of all times!
