Why not put the parent and child spaces away from the front of the shop? No reason why they should be near the door,the lazy gits wouldn't use the bigger spaces if they weren't so convenient

It might have been fitted incorrectly, is the bracket anywhere near where it should be on the pipe? must have been under a lot of tension to break the weld? If it's a manufacturing defect you should speak to the supplier first.

not sure about on the Z, but on some cars the arm is on a spline and need a bit of gentle levering from underneath with a flat blade screwdriver or similar to lift it up if it is a bit tight

you could post a pic of your car and ask someone to try a photoshop on it? I think they might look ok though, if they're not too dark
