Ah i was hoping it wasnt australia as i know their ECUs are popular over there. Anyone heard of any tuners in the South East England with experiance of fitting and tuning cars with these?
Could always come over here to my tuner
I'd say he would do a group buy

Borla exhausts are no problem - we can ship worldwide, and shipping really is not all that expensive - especially with our newly renegotiated rates
As for the headers, 1. you wouldn't want the Borla, as they really don't net any significant gains and 2. they are meant for LHD cars, so would not work on the UK or JDM models

PM me a shipping quote to IRE/Dublin

Adams shipping is very competitive.
Give him a try. I think you'd be surprised.
+1
I'll give that a shoot so!

hmm not a very current photo no
this is the touchscreen for it though (the software is updated a bit since though!) - the PC is a mini-itx board with a 2.4 GHz pentium-m and 1gb ram etc, it sits in the glovebox out of sight!
deadly where did you get that?!
Could reload maps on the fly!!!

hmm interesting...
usb connection and windows software - connect to my carPC and who knows the damage I could do!
got a photo of the car PC?

Nice one, is the Haltech plug and play or is it a mod of your existing ecu?
http://www.haltech.com/350zplatinum.htm
It piggy backs onto the standard ECU and leaves the dashboard think ABS also to the standard ECU, rest is handled by the Haltech ECU

Good numbers mate, you seem to have a drop off though at 230 on the new numbers, but then it pics up.
Worth throwing it up on my350z to see what they think
You mind sharing who tuned it and what you paid for the haltech and fitting?
haven't paid yet
I'll post more info once I collect it

Hiya,
Got 265 (flywheel) on the car before I installed the Pure Plenum spacer kit, got 273 afterwards (not bad with such a little change pricewise...)
Ordered this one:
http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Plenum_S ... stallation
Brilliant difference in feel, thought it was more but hey dyno does not lie...
A very nice result. How does it feel on the road though ??
Feels more torque and sound much more raw over 4k

Hi Guys,
Thought I'd share some very unexpected results of a bit of my performance tuning.
What I got on standard dyno:
Nissan 350z 2003 JPM Import
Apexi drop in filter
Running Texaco petrol (
)
Pulled: 265 on the flywheel...
Current setup on dyno:
Nissan 350z 2003 JPM Import
Apexi drop in filter
Pure Plenum Spacer kit (well worth the buck!)
Haltech Platinum 350Z (deadly)
Maxol E5 (
)
Pulled: 323 on the flywheel!
Can't wait to pick the car up from the tuner!
(and put in an order for a new set of rear tyres)
Got the after dyno sheet, I'll post that now need to take a photo or something of the before one
note: before is with base haltech map

Got an Haltech Platinum Z350 the other week... will post results on different thread.. (dying to drive the car now!)

I don't believe the Haltch affects the speed limiter at all but have never really examined it, as US cars are limited to 155 as I recall...more than enough for most
Any of the haltech ECU's don't touch the speedo limiter since it's different from jap to uk/us versions... they are however looking into it
Might wait and see if they can sort it out?
N o need to loose the license any quicker
-
... but if you are going to spend 1k why spend an extra 175 if you dont need to.. catch what I'm trying to say?
why pay 1K+ to remove the limiter when it can be done for £175??
If you are only after removing the limiter then the Haltech won't be needed.
I'm getting Haltech either way, was wondering if it removes the speed limitation.
if it doesnt I'd buy both. see?
-
Because the HKS is only £175 compared to £1k

I contacted Abbey Motorsport about an aftermarket ECU for the Z. They are trying to push the HKS F-Con at the moment. The final cost that they quoted me was well over £3k, Ive still got the quote that they sent somewhere so ill try and dig it out.
My car was dynoed a few months back & made just above standard power figures & well below standard TQ figures - this was with filter,plenum,exhaust,y-pipe&cats. I was having a few problems with the cats at the time though so im hoping that now I have my new cats in my torque will return.
To get the most out of N/A mods you really need an aftermarket ECU installed but at the price from Abbey + the cost of mods I would have been better off installing a supercharger.
we are now supplying the Haltech plug and play - more features than the F Con, and, less money
haltech: http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?mode ... rodid=2843
or, there is the utec too, which works well for NA mods, and for forced induction up around 500 hp. I have the UTEC in my full NA car, and its worked great, though I am now upgrading to the Haltech in the coming weeks
utec: http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?mode ... rodid=1602
and of course, both are in stock
Maybe you can answer if that ECU gets rid of the speed limiter on a JPY import?
get a HKS speed defender, that will sort it out
True but why get a HKS for XXX£ when a Haltech hopefully takes it out too
monies saved!

it's been proven on dyno's with test pipes, better getting high flow cats, at least then you don't have to remove them come MOT time
So we are talking loss in compression or something? mmm weird... Dont understand why that would be even if its proven (sorry)

I'm looking at maybe getting an haltech replacement ECU...

Hi mate. Welcome aboard!
Looking like a tasty want-list but I'd give the test pipes a miss as you'll lose loads of torque. Borla's an interesting choice of exhaust - why that?
Loose torque
why is that?
Borla True Dual = very cost effective compared to Amuse T1 True Dual like 2.5k € in a difference!

Welcome to the forum!
I get the window drop thing on my JDM.. sounds stupid but did you know that the windows only go up automatically if you pull the switch hard? If you pull it lightly it goes up manually and stays. I cant be arsed to take apart the doors etc for the sake of a light pull on the switch;)
Actually found that out today going into work!
Still it should work and doesn't look to hard to take it apart. Did you fix your speed-limit and radio? (how if you did, which route did you take..)[/b]
Thanks for the

Hi there
Registered on the 350z-tech site and thought I might register here too seeing that it's a bit closer localities etc ?
Got my Z a week ago came in from JPY... very good nick! a 2003 GT model... (I think)
Some mods but don't really know what they are, in some need of TLC... Window on driver side does not close when using automatic up (goes up fully then down 1/4)... think the fix for that is reset the motor, clean motor, get new motor (go figure). Other issue is when it's warm and you start the car it dies if you dont tap the accelerator (once it comes down from 1k rpm). Fix for that was air filter (really BAD), if not air filter then MAF sensor (clean)... I did both (took out the filter just to test since my Apexi one will take another week to arrive.
Love the car! Have a Zees exhaust (end pipes) on it... love the sound. Started doing a mod's roadmap
Anyway live in IRE/Dublin... hope to spend some time in here and help and get some help with millions of Q's that I will have (after I use the search function button!)
Currently looking for:
New front tyres, tracking for 4 wheels
Service (Oil and Oil filter change)
Replacement ECU (Haltech?)
New Test pipes
Borla True Dual Exhaust
Air intake (going for apexi slip-in for now)
Plenum spacers
Going to leave it in for a general health check
Want to do:
fix the radio
get rid of the antenna in the back
Replacment ECU Haltech Platinum Z350
