  1. Missed one of these in May this year :

    http://www.efi101.com/efi101.html

,wondering know if anyone here has done one and if it would be worth REALLY trying to attend one? The class her dropped out due to this recession yoke...

Read this review and that's what made me start thinking about it again:

It would be both cool and 'better' to do your own tunes instead of handing it over to a tuner, not to disrespect for anyone in the field but I have a lifetime to get the correct tune instead of trying to make a business out of it so time is on my side (not experience). Hmm hope that came out right...

(if not I apologize in advance and blame English not being my first language  )

    :bounce:

  2. get wider tyres instead

2cm wider tyres? They will just look bulgy and rubbish. Get spacers :p

    B)

current tyre size rear on my yoke (JDM) = 235

    20mm wider = 255 ... suppose that's wider in both directions (a bit I'd guess) so lets take another 20mm = 275...

Where I would want to be in tyre width when I'm finished = 275 :snack:

Bah just get new wheels and tyres, you know you will in the end

    thats what I meant...

  4. 1. what are the purpose of spacers?

To change the stance of the wheels, fill out the arches properly

    2. do they make the car handle better or worst?

Make near to sod all difference unless you are tracking it, even they you prob wont notice

    3. what's the best size to go for?

Depends on what wheels, but 20-25mm at a guess, see CS thread ;)

    4. does anything else need to be done when these are fitted? (alignment etc)

Shouldnt need doing unless your car is lowered. But might be worth a check when you next get tyres

    5. does anyone have good pics to show the difference in stock and with spacers fitted?

    See CS thread he PMd

Where is the other thread...

  5. I'm looking into doing this but might have to hit it on it's head, the fuel does not seem to hold good standard (in IRELAND) contains some bad substances at the mo... :headhurt: (not official)

the guy supposed to tune it has now said he wants it cleared before moving on... (might never happen), I would also need to upgrade my injectors and fuel pump to cope with the extra fuel needed (counted 45% extra on the standard injector sizes and then my future FI project... so 600cc+) in turn that requires a full fuel return system (thought this yoke had one...but no)

saga goes on... anyway to cut it short I'd need 1k$+ to sort the fueling out and 700€+ for the tune... so it's not going to be very cost effective HP per €

    :bounce:

Then again I spent xyz on a SSV Kinetix that's stated it's not going to give me ANY hp...

Dont know if the standard ECU can adapt, wouldn't think so... worth a shot?

, you can always try it outside an E85 station and only fill her up with 5L of E85 *on an empty tank. The idle for a few minutes and see if it adjusts or dies. < do this on your own risk!

    :boat:

  6. Strange isn't it that all these mods claim the power gains they do when it's not real. And we still buy them.

their claims can't be untrue as otherwise it would be false marketing, but you can set a dyno to read what ever you like.

also i think that the quoted BHP gains are for the one item on a stock car, i think when you start to add more items their BHP overlaps each other.

so if you had 2 items each adding 5 bhp, you might actually only gain a total of 7 bhp.

at the end of the day, they will make a difference, but not a smuch as the manufacturers claim

+1 and I'm after ordering a SSV Kinetix plenum... there is NO way that it will give 30+bhp  but it will give me torque and some + hp :band:

  7. i thought that was a given on the haltec? Are you tuning yourself?

have a map on the H already that I'm using... not 'tuning' myself wouldn't be much left of the car if I did, to many settings to mess up in the software!

thought so too ... lets not open old war wounds... :drunk:

Is there any / may haltech tuners over the water? You may want to try TDI as they are Haltech dealers / installers and they might be able to assist...

eh end of the line on the haltech stuff, have checked it with themselves and they dont 'look' at that setting...

  9. wonder what a reflashto get rid of my speed limiter would be... do you have a contact name in there that u used?

The up rev map gets rid of the delimiter B)

do you have a map that I can use? :boxing:

Its not as simple as that as you need to buy the up rev licence and then have a custom map done on your car.

see I wouldn't be interested in the actual mapping since I use Haltech platinum 350z for my maps but it doesn't look after the limiter :( So I'd just need the 1's and 0' that disables that part :drive1

  10. nice one!

    Sorry 4got to ask,

How many miles per day and hours spent in the car? Did you do longer stops or just A - B driving? If you did the trip again what would you do different? Did a 4.5k/km bike trip before the summer and if I did it again it would be very different :D
